Hit a new scale low this morning. The combo of drinking more water, eating low glycemic carb vegetables, and refraining from eating too much at night is working. Down 26.4 pounds from my highest weight in January. Today I met a friend for lunch, and when I walked up, she asked me, "What, are you melting away?" Later during lunch she said I look healthier. Most importantly, I feel better.

So IF has now got me down 5 lbs, which I know from my brand spanking new scale. Pretty good. Now 5 more and I'll be good. Plus I need to up my exercise quota and tighten up some of this. Then I'll go into maintenance mode.

Just under 150 this morning. Same as 2 weeks ago then went over 150 till today Being careful about no evening snacks and exercise. Determined to keep this going but tonight having a birthday/ farewell to NJ party for ODS. It’s at a Portuguese restaurant so not low calorie at all. I’ll probably have shrimp in green sauce over rice. Not bad but their portions are in small buckets! 2 BD cakes also
So for breakfast had a huge fresh peach in milk and coffee. Sushi for lunch Tomorrow left overs, usually have half portions packed up. So back to eating less and exercise. No wine at home till 145

Down from 197.4 to 195.9 this week. With the kids in the process of moving out, DH and I are moving to focus on ourselves. Him getting on board with definitely benefit me.

Hi Kids! Unfortunately, will all of the life & death drama with my relative, I've been stress eating, so of course I've regained a few pounds. I AM still trying to get steps in every day. I think it's going to take getting past the funeral before I'll be back on track. In the meantime, you guys keep posting your successes, as it IS motivating.

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Last week I increased the number of crunches and leg lifts I do each session. Tonight, I'll add the treadmill and hand weights back into the routine. I haven't been on the former since June. Down another pound for a total of 27.6 gone. I can really tell a difference in how my body has changed now.

Back to 150 after the Portuguese restaurant on Saturday. Moaning about not going down further but psyching myself up but remembering I was at 162 a year ago. And stuck at 153/154 for months
Think reading posts here and posting myself will help me to goal of 145. Even if 150 is new ‘set point’ for a few months I’ll try not to get discouraged

Pleasantly surprised to be down to 205.3 (-0.7 from last week). I’m on day 45 of my challenge.* I had a couple days where I had more than I probably should have this past week, but the daily exercising and diligence after those days paid off. So looking forward to getting under 200! This week is my first session with a personal trainer at the Y. I saw a trainer several years ago and was pleased with the results.
*Technically I failed my challenge. One day I forgot to take the daily progress picture. Since it wasn’t one of the habits directly related to diet and exercise, I’m giving myself a pass and continuing on. I think starting over at Day 1 would be more detrimental to my progress than missing one picture. So I’m a failure. But everything is going well so I’m carrying on. I also made the adjustment of trying to get all the habits knocked out before 5pm. Taking the picture, exercising, or reading 10 pages at 10:30 at night when all I want/need to do is go to sleep was getting old. 😊 And I’m already looking ahead to my next challenge, taking the habits from this first challenge and stepping them up a bit to push myself.

The questions are interesting. I'll give an update tomorrow after I go to my doctor's appointment. Will answer the questions then.

Someone on fb posted about just getting certified as a life coach and wanting practice cases. I've met with her twice and it's interesting how it differs from therapy. She explained it as more future forward thinking than reflecting on the past and doing emotional work. We talked this week about my physical goals. It led to me scheduling a yoga class on Tues and stretching on Sat morning. I need to get back in control of my weight.

Hey all, I am around. Not stepping on my scale until September. I have not made it to the gym and am thinking of letting the membership go with the new middle school hours. So just kind of coasting and getting a baseline this month on normal habits.

You guys, yoga was so great last night. I was worried my type A self wouldn't be able to slow down enough but man was it good for me. The instructor was very nice and I wasn't very self-conscious. I drove home feeling slightly zen and slept so, so well. Making it a recurring appt on Tues nights.

I had my doctor's appointment today. Heart rate fine. Blood pressure in the normal range at 122/84 She ordered blood work for A1c, metabolic pane, vitamin d and vitamin b12. I already made an appointment at Quest for next Monday. The doctor thinks my A1C will be lower than last time. It was 7.1 in April. I've lost weight since April 25 when I last went to see her. I lost 8 pounds since then. Now I weight 228lb versus 246lb on 1/25 when I decided to improve my health.

How are you regarding a healthy lifestyle? I'm doing much better. I'm eating healthier, I am now enthusiastic about exercise, I'm drinking way more water. Sleep was good, became an issue last month when I lost my pet. Last weekend I decided to stop taking sleeping pills because I dont want it to become a habit. Sleep has been all over the place since then, but it's getting better.
Did you set goals at the beginning of the calendar year? Did you (re) set them at another point in the last few months? How are they going? Yes, I decided to see a nutritionist, eat healthier, discuss my eating disorder with my therapist. I ended up seeing 2 nutritionists. The first one didn't work for me at all. The second one was better and I had appointments with her for 4 months, every other week. After that it just became repetitive and I felt I knew what I needed to learn from her, and I rather discuss my emotional food issues with my therapist, who knows me better and does a more in-depth approach. I havent reset goals, but I guess getting some positive results made me more enthusiastic about exercise and water intake.
Do you want to set new goals for the remainder of the calendar year or even just August? No.
Do you need specific encouragement from those of us on this board? It makes me happy to post progress, and I appreciate the support during setbacks.
What have you been doing that's worked well for you being healthy? The first few steps were the hardest. As I see results it gets more encouraging.
What's an obstacle that's preventing you from being healthy? I'm an emotional eater and I have an addiction to food. I have been lucky to be extremely healthy. The health issues I have developed due to my unhealthy eating habits, but can be controlled with medicine, exercise, good food, and discipline.

Fallen off a bit on my IF, but today starts a new day. Currently sitting at 16 hours, and pretty confident I can make it to 18. Water cooler at the office broke, so I have been drinking less water this week while waiting for a replacement - which is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I have learned that I work best with a visual aid, so I packed 5 20oz bottles this morning. Currently on bottle # 3.

Happy to report that I made it to 18 hours plus 10 minutes fasting today. Wasn't very hungry, but made myself eat some caesar salad. Didn't want hunger to kick in in the grocery store.

I had to change my appointment for blood work at Quest to Wednesday. Would update once I have test results. I would know if my A1c went down, and if my Vitamin D is all right. I will also know about my cholesterol levels.
I went to the pharmacy Friday to pick up my Metformin and the high blood pressure medication. They only had the Metformin for 3 months, but the Doctor said I don't have to go back for 6 months. They didn't have the order for the blood pressure medication. It's a new insurance and a new pharmacy, since my job change insurance providers.
Sigh, this means calling the Doctor's office Monday, trying to get hold of someone and make sure they send the right information to the right pharmacy.

Went to stretching class yesterday morning. Was tougher than yoga and I sweated way more. I know my muscles are very tight. Felt like jello legs when I left. Quads are very sore this morning. Was a guest instructor, will have to see how it's different next week. Looking fwd to yoga on Tues.
Finding it weird that my husband or kids haven't asked about either class even though it's clear where I'm going from the calendar and I've never taken gym classes before. To quote Pink- I'm feeling some sort of way about it.

I’m being consistent about being under 150 for the last week, but barely. Been eating very little after dinner when snacking used to add up calories for a meal. Also either swimming (30 min) or walking (1 hr) most days . Going to mall to walk cause weather still makes walking uncomfortable. Bought an inflatable kayak to use when lake swimming stops (no lifeguards and lake association discouraged)

I'm afraid IF has triggered another ulcer.
I take quite a bit of extra strength Excedrin; it helps with arthritis as well as headaches. Normally I eat something with a dose, but when I'm doing IF, I drink but don't eat. And now I've been having the stomach pains I know I get with an ulcer. Sigh.
Eating veggies is not enough of a buffer, nor is drinking. I'm going to have to figure something out. I'd stop with the IF but it works so well for me.
I also need to supplement iron in larger quantities, and that can upset my stomach without a good buffer.

IF is intermittent fasting. Most people do it so that they fast for 18 hours or 20 or whatever hours in a day, then eat in the remaining window. Some, like me, do it by the day, fasting for 24 hours then eating. I actually do eat a small amount on fasting days, no more than 500 calories.

It was incredibly easy to reach out to the nurse at the Dr.'s office today. She said she had straightened out my medication snafu with the new pharmacy. I'll find out today or tomorrow when I go to pick up the meds.
