We had a crazy gorgeous day yesterday for February in Kansas, so we took advantage and went for a walk before dinner with DH and the kids. Today I had a mostly meeting-free afternoon, so I took a break and got some time in on the treadmill (yesterday’s weather disappeared quickly as we had snow this morning and cold temps again).

I finally got on the scale last night......I am carefully eating veggies and more veggies along with some fruit, and I am drinking water at a rate of 3 - 16 oz starbuck size glasses per day......oh joy, I have now lost 3 lbs.

I tried the Peloton app. I love it. I started with it on Monday and I've done 6 workouts so far. I am still a little sore and I am hardly ever sore from working out. I recommend it.

My neighbor who has a treadmill and I looked at a couple at Academy Sports today. We have another store called Total Fitness that looks far superior. I think I want a treadmill, be need to be somewhat careful due to having a pacemaker for the last 5 years and 2 heart issues. I used my neighbors when we got home, 'Im still a little woozy to do doing 10 minutes on at at 1.3
At my age of 76, caution is the best option sometimes.

BG - I only say this because you're a poster I admire. Treadmills are a tremendous fall risk, and falls are a leading cause of death for seniors. Please think long and hard about this.

Yes! The first 30 days are free! Try it. You can always cancel it of you don't like it.

Thank you......I have a good friend who was a cardio nurse for years, in talking to her today, she said don't do anything until I contact my cardio Dr. to get permission. As for falling, yes, I've done that, that goodness for my Guardian Angel who caught me before I hit the concrete ( I 'm not kidding on that one).

Blonde Granny, I'm a big fan of recumbent bikes; mainly because I can sit and read a book while pedaling as fast or as slow as I want.

I was at Academy Sports yesterday, and they had little to show....cost for one treadmill was $599, the next was $ 999 and one not in the store was higher. I'm going to stop in at Total Fitness today and see if I can get a better understanding of what might be best for this old Granny.

I got my treadmill at Academy for $299. You just have to keep checking. Also look at Walmart. They have free shipping and you can return it if you don't like it. Just make sure to filter the retailer to Walmart only.

I went to Total Fitness yesterday morning.....all by myself and made the decision. The young man helping me was knowledgable, let me play on it for a few minutes to show me how all the button work. They will deliver it this upcoming week. For now, it's going to go into the sunroom, and if I ever want it moved, even though it has wheels they will come out and do it for me at no charge. It cost me more than I thought it would, but it's mine.....and frankly I'm irritated enough at a few people I don't care what it cost me. It;s mine and it's my money so they can all stick their head in a barrel.

Friday was a very grey day. Literally and figuratively. I think my step total was around 500. However, yesterday, the boyfriend and I went to the Eiteljorg museum, Best Buy, and Lowe's. I ended up just shy of 6,400 steps.
Today is beautifully sunny but, weather.com says it's "bitterly cold" in the single digit temps. I anticipate getting in nearly 5,000 steps today; between going to work and then going to Kroger: I need to stock up on ice cream and pb cups again.
Even with my low-step days (and the pb cups), my body composition is changing for the better so I will keep on keeping on.

My weight loss has been stalled for a week, while ISO is melting away to nothing! And he cheats! I think I'm going to smother him in his sleep!

Dinner tonight: yellow bell pepper, tomato, zucchini squash, mushrooms, baby broccoli, carrots, and blueberries all cooked up in some olive oil just long enough until the carrots are little soft but far from mushy.

This past week was okay. I hit my step goal. Only did 1 arm workout - just got lazy. I didn't lose another 2 pounds like I'd hoped, but I'm down 4.8 lbs. in 12 days, so that's still pretty good. I need to adjust my fat/protein ratios.
This week:
Continue with the 16,500 step daily average Lose another 1.5 pounds Find the rest of my weights and get at least 2 arm workouts in
Good enough. Have a great week all!

I had to pace my house the last 1500 steps but I met the step goal on my Garmin last night. I also met the water and stairs goal so that's cool; especially the water goal.
