Saturday will be weight and measures with my trainer. I step on a scale and then she measures waist and hips, followed by a body fat "steering wheel". Nothing has really gone down in the past year but, more importantly, nothing has gone up either. We're adding bicep and thigh measurement this weekend and, starting next week, I'll be meeting with her for two 30-minute and one 1-hour session each week. Lastly, a couple sessions ago, I told her that she gets to pick my weights from now on. I haven't been pushing myself. I know she will. In other health news, my bosses are letting me dial back my days at work so that I can work on just being consistent in which days I DO work. For the past year, there has been NO consistency from week to week because of the migraines and brain gremlins. Dialing back to M/T/W (8+ hours) and Sat (enough hours for me to hit 30 each week). This will also give me a chance to be able to engage in other things that will help my mental and physical health. And although I don't really care what the number is, I secretly do and am still striving to be less than 200lbs by the end of September. How's this going? The shortened work week is going great. The fitness part is going in the up direction. Gotta love muscle gain.

I'm on day 2 of keto. I need to be serious about losing weight, I keep getting bigger instead of smaller. I'm not sure exactly what weight I want, I'm guessing 150 lbs to be a size 10. So right now I am detoxing from sugar and bread It amazes me that I am more than half way there. 187 lbs this morning and wearing a tight size 12 (with stretch). 48 lbs down. This is the most succesfull I have ever been at intentionally losing weight.

Well, I did 10,000 steps for 7 days in a row. I've been reading that you really should give yourself a day off, and in fact, for someone who is middle aged, 7,000 steps per day is actually adequate, but I'm trying to lose more weight, so in the coming weeks, we'll see if this helps or hurts...

When I weigh 150lbs, that’s still a size (US) 8.

Since I hurt my arm steps have gone way down. Only goal at the moment is not to gain weight. I have been actually lost a few pounds. Was 170.2 on the day I hurt my arm and was 166.2 this morning. My step goal for this week (Monday thru Sunday) is 29000. If I have a good day today I will hit the goal. For the next week I think I will keep the goal at 29000 as it is going to be a very busy week at work.

Yesterday was an absolute murphy day, one of those days that life just didn't go smoothly. I almost didn't even try to hit 10,000 steps, but decided just before bed that if I put in some effort, I could do it. So I did. The reward was this morning, when I not only hit 24 pounds lost, but I'm right on the edge of 25. Lovin' it!

Back from my doc's office and would like to say: I the low carb/keto way of life! ALL of my bloodwork came back in the "good" or "very good" range. Kidney, liver, cholesterol, thyroid, BP, glucose, etc. etc. According to the ACC/AHA risk calculator, based on the results and my age, I have a 1.9% of having a stroke/heart disease in the next 10 years. I am so relieved and thankful.

The scale has barely budged this week, but I'm now at 26 pounds down. Baby steps, but I'll take it.

This past month has been a challenge. I haven't been to the gym at all. Haven't gone for any walks that I can remember. I can't even identify any specific reasons why.
But every day is a new day.

I've not been exercising at all since school started on September 7. I need to do when I wake up; it's the only way for me to be consistent schedule wise. I'm just so not a morning person.
However, my food intake has been decent. I'm proud of that. I have a very slow downward trend for weight, and that's been motivation to keep eating decently.

I've added a new doctor to the mix: Gynecologist who specializes in Menopause. I'm more pre/peri but she confirmed that I'm of an age to get started treating it, especially considering I can list so many common symptoms. Thankfully, no hot flashes, yet. I'm hopeful that this will help me with the fixing the "give a damn" and the fatigue and all the other stuff.
I told her: "I want to want to do things again."

Mind sharing how old and what symptoms? I'm 42 and have night sweats, insomnia, and some killer mood swings. Also interested in whatever you want to share about what you learn.
Having some success with intermittent fasting. Eating window 12 to 6. Not too hard to strictly stick to.

Decreased libido, unexplained irritability, mood swings, difficulty concentrating, weight gain, digestive problems, fatigue, disrupted sleep, and a few others. I got the list of common symptoms from the Wiki on www.reddit.com/r/Menopause/

Yep, yep, and yep to your list. Nice to know I'm at least on the right track. I'm supposed to get bloodwork during my next cycle to check things out. I'm still on the pill, so have no idea what my cycle would be without it. DH got snipped about 4-5 yrs ago but when I went off the pill, I plummeted into a major depression. With the world so topsy, turvy, I'm just not ready to try it again. Plan is to get thru winter SAD and consult with dr in April about it.
Keep sharing pls. I'm scared the hormone changes will be terrible for my mental health as another depressive episode was when I weaned my daughter.

I've been taking St John's wort for my depression, and recently discovered it's supposed to help with hot flashes. I was getting them for a couple months after it seemed I was finally done with periods. My periods had accelerated in frequency the prior year, and then nothing. The hot flashes mostly went away this week. I started exercising/being more active. For me, exercise seems to help with a lot of things, otherwise I am quite sedentary. Ymmv. I am a bit ragey, been for some years now (as I've been through some stuff), and my GAF is quite broken lately.

My cycle went from every 28 days to every 35. It was awesome. Haven't had a period in nearly six years since I had the uterus removed in 2016 but kept the ovaries. My scrips for Estradiol patch and Progesterone caps are being processed but I anticipate receiving everything by the end of next week.

The scale has barely budged this week, but I'm now at 26 pounds down. Baby steps, but I'll take it. My scale has gone up and down with the same 3 lbs for the last month! And that's with both fasting and I've started walking 4 kms a day! So I'm at the same 50 lbs down as of this morning. I'm choosing to believe that the walking is building up muscle so I'm actually still losing fat...don't burst my bubble please

I am 166.4 this morning. Weight has been staying steady.
This week's goals include the following
44,800 steps.
Get out of bed within 10 minutes of alarm going off. This is one I really need to work on.
Keep up with home PT exercises.
No eating after 9:00 PM
Have a great week everyone.

I'm three weeks into taking the hormones. The most obvious change is that I'm slower to anger. My sleep is still wonky.
I worked four days this week and then ended up sleeping most of today. I think I just used up all my spoons the past four days.
I injured my foot last month so I haven't been on any walks or anything. I'm hoping it'll be healed enough soon so that I can wear both shoes rather than a shoe and a non-flexible boot.

Weight this morning 165.8
Hit the modest step goal. Did my home PT. Did okay on alarm. Did not meet this goal on Friday.
Did okay on not eating after 9:00. Saturday the only day did not meet.
Going to keep the same goals for this week.
I am not good on drinking water. Drink at least 16 ounces of water per day.
Have a great week everyone.

Lots of walking on my trip, so I'm going to try to continue with at least 7000/day. I was still less than 2000 after a full day of WFH, so I went for a 2 mile walk.

A coworker and I are going to motivate each other to complete our workouts. We're also employing external motivation: we're going to pick our least favorite charity--one that we really don't want to donate to--and, if we miss any workouts, we're going to put money in a jar. At the end of this year, we'll donate that money to the charity.
I proposed Susan G Komen because, out of all the cancer charities, they're the ones that keep the largest amount for "overhead" costs.

You know when you buy a bag of Romaine lettuce, intending to eat it over the course of the next week or so, but what happens is that you eat none of it until it's nearly 100% wilty?
Yeah, I had large bowl of Romaine with some red wine vinaigrette dressing for breakfast this morning.
Thursday and yesterday, made it to the gym. Had planned on going to the park today to walk but it's raining. Maybe I'll still go and take an umbrella.

Ok, the scale finally moved a bit. 53 lbs lost. I will do a happy dance when it's 55. And I've been good about my walking, even with my traveling.
