Fell and broke my arm Goal for week is to not gain weight. Will not be doing much for the next few weeks. Agh! What happened? I'm so sorry! Is it an "easy" break or a "complicated" break?
I tripped. I will know more on Tuesday. It is not a compound fracture,

It's been a whirl wind of getting better these past few months. Between seeing my functional health doctor and my brain gremlin doctor, my migraines are much less frequent and don't last as long. And the brain gremlins have been quelled quite a bit. Now, I'm working on increasing how often I get to the gym. I'm currently meeting my trainer once a week, on Saturdays, for an hour. Three weeks ago, I added 30-minute sessions on Mondays and, since I made all those, I'm continuing those through July. I'm hoping to add another 30-minute session each week come August. That'll have me in the gym three times a week.

Ok, I hit the 20 pound mark once, then lost ground. DD's house issues have been absorbing most of my days. But, I'm back to 20 pounds lost, in spite of not being able to walk 3 times a day. Yes, it feel good!

I have miserably failed at losing weight for my daughter's wedding.
I have increased the exercise days/week.
Step count is up comparatively.

Saturday will be weight and measures with my trainer. I step on a scale and then she measures waist and hips, followed by a body fat "steering wheel". Nothing has really gone down in the past year but, more importantly, nothing has gone up either. We're adding bicep and thigh measurement this weekend and, starting next week, I'll be meeting with her for two 30-minute and one 1-hour session each week. Lastly, a couple sessions ago, I told her that she gets to pick my weights from now on. I haven't been pushing myself. I know she will.
In other health news, my bosses are letting me dial back my days at work so that I can work on just being consistent in which days I DO work. For the past year, there has been NO consistency from week to week because of the migraines and brain gremlins. Dialing back to M/T/W (8+ hours) and Sat (enough hours for me to hit 30 each week). This will also give me a chance to be able to engage in other things that will help my mental and physical health.
And although I don't really care what the number is, I secretly do and am still striving to be less than 200lbs by the end of September.

Hi Kids! Unfortunately, our air here is seriously bad, due to the wildfires in Canada, so it isn't safe for me (with asthma) to be exercising outside right now. I mentioned this on another thread, but they're saying if you do any exercise outside right now that requires deep breathing, it'll take 2 weeks to clear out your lungs. (All this and Covid too, right?) I'm right on the edge of losing 22 pounds, and I hit the mark once, but since I can't exercise the way I'd like, my best is holding at 21 pounds lost for now. But, I'm not giving up. Those wildfires won't last forever...

Couple things from today’s annual well check: My weight is not great, but it’s not bad. PCP says get 10 lbs off.
My cholesterol has skyrocketed in the past two years. My cheese intake has been reduced to a once per week maximum.

I haven't posted on the 2021 thread. I gained 5 lbs between October 2020 and May 2021. I just couldn't shake them and even now don't know the reason for the increase. I was working out regularly and eating healthy, but the scale kept creeping up and I felt achy all the time.
Anyway, 6/1, I started intermittent fasting and as of 7/30, 5 lbs are gone. Not sure why that worked when everything else had failed. So just back to where I started, but at least not going backwards.

However, I might be wearing a path in our carpeted steps (we live in a 3-level split). Now they're claiming we've got the worst air here ever recorded, and it's going to hang around until at least Tuesday.

FINALLY! 41 lbs down! It's sooooo slow! Thank goodness I feel so good eating this way. It keeps me motivated. I've been reading up about fasting and the health benefits. I'm going to try it.

Sigh, stalled again. But I have started walking each day. 4 walks of 20 minutes each. The dogs are loving it.

Well, two things upon the very brief conversation we had about it. 1) I vaguely remember this happening to my mother when I was a teenager-ish. However, my mother is finicky about what she discusses. So, apparently this could quite possibly be a hereditary condition. I have to ask my mother, and that's taken me a few weeks for which to bristle myself.
2) I significantly reduced my super high carb in-take in Nov 2019 by going on a program. After the initial program, I was quasi-switching back to "normal but healthy" food choices. However, my version of that meant I consume cheese at least twice per day and probably over the course of the week 12 to 16 ounces total of four or five different cheeses. It went straight to my arteries. I love cheese.

Since mid-June, I've been pretty consistent about working out four to six times per week. I am physically feeling better. It's so odd how logical it is that exercise improves one's physical and emotional well being and yet it's easy for me to avoid doing it because I just don't prioritize it.
The pandemic continues to drive me into emotional eating. I've not gained any weight the last two months, but I've not lost any either. I seem to be fine (eating-wise) from the morning until I get home after work. Then I stuff my face.

It went straight to my arteries. I love cheese. I had a former coworker who had to mostly give up eating cheese, as it really messed up her numbers. She did it, but of course wasn't happy about it. So sorry you're dealing with this. I've been reminded during this diet & health process, that I actually get ill if I don't eat enough protein. I know, weird, but I guess we're all a bit different. I haven't dropped any more weight, and the scale is bouncing around a bit. I was at -22 when I woke up this morning, but at least I'm not putting a bunch back on, so I'll take the little victories where I can get them.
