While out and about the past few days, I've refrained stopping at the drive thru. Also, have been easing up on the adult beverages, aka, empty calories. The scale is down a bit.

I've discovered that as much as I like my fitness tracker capturing my sleep data, I can't actually sleep well when I wear it. If I go to bed before the time I've entered in it, it will light up when I twist my wrist. And then later, when that doesn't happen any longer, when it gets any distance between it and my wrist, the green "tracker" light illuminates...and I see it...which wakes me up more. So, starting last night, I'll be taking it off each night.

I'm down 15 pounds. And, I'm finding the loss to be VERY motivating. But, I want to keep going, and see what I can do, while maintaining a healthy weight. (DD said she'd hold me accountable, as I looked a bit anorexic while in my 20's, but frankly, I'm not too worried about being that skinny again, especially after giving birth to kids & all...)

I have got to get back in shape. Losing weight would be nice, but I really just want to be strong again. I feel so lost. If I prioritize exercise lots of other stuff doesn't get done. If I try to do chores first, exercise never happens.
But it has to happen. Its snowing again, but tomorrow morning I have to make it a priority. Posting here so that hopefully I feel that I have to be able to check back in that I did it.

Posting here so that hopefully I feel that I have to be able to check back in that I did it. One of the things that helps me when I have been off the exercise wagon for an extended time is to make very, very small goals. For strength training, as little as 10 minutes can make a difference if done consistently. I start very slowly, sometimes only one exercise a day. I try to focus on arms 3 days and core for three days. I start with something like: 10 pushups on M,W,F ; 10 reverse sit ups on T Th Sat As I build the habit -- I start adding dumbbells or other exercises to reach 10 minutes a day. When I am consistent, I can start feeling a difference in a few weeks, which motivates me to add difficulty to the exercises.

Have any of you purchased new workout clothing? I just bought one of the Shefit bras, and so far I'm impressed. (I did have to exchange my first purchase for one size larger, apparently their sizing guide isn't perfect...) I wish I would've had one of these back when I was doing high school sports. Excellent support!

I still can't juggle it and I feel like I fail at adulting. It seems like if I get dinner and maybe a workout, every thing else is neglected. Or maybe I had a bunch of chores to do so I couldn't do all three. I've been trying to cook more as I hit a rough streak on that earlier this month. I do need to move more. My body is screaming. I haven't been able to get out for small walks even with work and trying to finish a certification.

Excellent support! I bought enough to cover the bases: four encapsulation sports bras, three compression sports bras, and six pairs of workout leggings. I'm not a fan of Shefit because I don't like my boobs to touch when I'm working out...makes 'em sweat more. The goal is no more workout gear until I NEED it.

What a busy couple of weeks! We went camping last weekend, and the weather was undesirable when we arrived. I stayed inside the first day, and got in steps by walking up and down inside the camper. I then took the two heaviest canned food items and used them as hand weights. While on a business trip this week, I did my floor exercises in the hotel room. I remembered crunches one of the times, LOL. Lots of walking to and from the meeting room, parking garage, etc. helped to nearly reach my daily step goal. Not bad considering we were in seated meetings a lot of the time. I refrained from eating the dessert we were offered at two different meals.
I picked up fruit, Greek yogurt, and low sodium deli turkey this morning. I am going to semi-revisit counting calories again. Have a relaxing weekend, friends.

After last weekend being a total bust because of my #2 vaccine shot, I was glad to make it to meet up with my trainer today. I also haven't been to the park in a week or two. Barely making my ~4000 step goals but I'm still putting one foot in front of the other. We did weight and measures today. My weight is down a pound or so since the beginning of the month and I'm down an inch on my waist and hips. ETA: no ice cream/cheese/dairy for more than a week now.

34 lbs!!! It's torturously slow but it's happening. I'm .2 lbs away from being in the 100's! It's 4 months of keto eating, I think I've past that part they say it takes to make new habits.

Hope everyone is doing well. I have not been here much, as I have not been walking or doing anything healthy, but I went to the doctor yesterday and they said officially I have lost 10 lbs, and that was a big deal. She decreased some of my meds and told me to keep doing what I was doing as it is working well, so that was good to hear.
Hoping to start walking again from today and add a little weights and stretching.

I’ve been in a slump lately, but found myself signed up for our corporate challenge 5k yesterday (downside to being at a female at an engineering firm - not many options to choose from, so it’s begging to get all hands on deck for things like this when you need both participants from both genders and all age ranges, lol). I was so not ready, but did jog more of it than expected, especially considering how hilly the course was this year. Of course, today I’m sore.
Took the youngest out for a bike ride while I walked today, so while I was slow due to the aforementioned sore legs, I was moving.
Now to keep it up again.

My step achievements are up and down. Sometimes I even double them like the day before yesterday when I met with my trainer and went for a walk at Fort Harrison. Yesterday was chores and running errands. But I did meet my water the goal.

April was a good step month for me. The weather is on the upswing here, so it's easier to get out and get steps in. I slacked on my strength training, so one of my May goals is to up it some. My eating has been up and down, but I've maintained my weight so it must not have been too bad.

I went back to the doctor today. I've made some improvements. My A1C is normal now, but it was only ever .1 higher than normal. My blood glucose went from 116 to 104. So I still have some improving there, but the doctor was pleased. Overall my cholesterol showed improvements in HDL, VDL, and triglycerides. My HDL and VDL are now normal, though my triglycerides are still above normal. Bad news was my total cholesterol and LDL are both higher than before. So the doctor drew more blood for more in depth lipid testing.

Weight back down to what it was about a month ago. I credit this to increasing veggie intake and eating less in general.
