Weekly check in
Hit step goal. I did not do so well in the eating category. On Saturday the day of my vaccine I consumed way too many carbs. I really need to work on cutting carbs.
This weeks goals 100000 steps. Keep up water intake. Make good food choices. Manage work stress without consuming carbs.

Can I suggest an amendment to a statement? Rather than "make good food choices" maybe think "make food choices for best body fuel"
No food is good or bad. It's just food...or a food product like American cheese or a candy bar.
Like, grains aren't bad but, in my body, they cause inflammation so I don't eat them. Ice cream doesn't cause inflammation (that I know of) so I have no problem eating it.
Too often, we beat ourselves up about "bad" food. Our body will tell us which foods aren't the best fuel. No need to label something based upon one of society's many fad diets over the past six decades.

I’ve been wondering why I haven’t lost weight the last week, and then realized what was up when I started my period today. Good news is my new diet is minimizing PMS symptoms. I likely won’t see loss on the scale until next week, but I’m not discouraged by it. I’ll typically see a 4 pound plus loss once my body stops hanging on to water.
I’m proud of my exercise habit. The peloton is really working well for me. I’m up to advanced beginner classes now, and I’m dabbling in meditation and weight lifting classes and broadening the stretching classes in addition to cycling. My butt isn’t as sore in the seat anymore, but it still aches a little when I first get out of the seat.

I went down with my CHF over the weekend and I am over it. So, during my downtime yesterday, I did further research on the best antioxidant foods (lets hear it for dark chocolate!!!!) and cross referenced it with the CHF diet. I had been doing really well, enough to please my primary doc, and seemed to have lost focus over the past few months. I ate well yesterday (11 different berry and veggies types!), am feeling better today, compiled a grocery list, and will pick it up this evening. I am incorporating fish/tuna into our suppers twice a week instead of just one, and researched low carb vegetarian recipes. The better I breathe, the better I feel, the more I can move, and then the farther I can walk. It's a great cycle which takes focus to restart.

We can scratch jelly beans off the list of things that I can eat. I had some Kirkland/Jelly Belly ones Tuesday and Wednesday and had a headache each following day.

I met up with my trainer yesterday. We did a one-hour session and I'm feeling it a bit today. It was the last two sessions on my old/current contract. I had two 30-minute sessions left and figured it's easier to do them back to back. My new contract, which starts Apr 1st, will be 1 one-hour session each week rather than 2 30-minute sessions. I was finding that I was almost always rescheduling the session that occurred during the weekdays. I'm aiming to walk as often as possible and jog when the mood strikes. I've also decided to aim for a weight goal: sub-200 by September. It works out to be less than one pound per week and since I don't plan on giving up ice cream or peanut butter cups EVER will be totally doable. I weigh myself only once a month as it is and yesterday was 217lbs. I've also adjusted where we'll be measuring for progress. We were measuring waist and hips and that is, literally, the last place I lose any fat so we'll now be measuring calf, thigh, and neck. Much better fat-loss indicators. As it is, the current fat is coming from my boobs. Not unexpected just annoying because it makes my current 40GG bras slightly too big and the next smaller bras aren't the right band/cup combo to fit. They're 38GG. Too small in the cup even though the band might fit. But I have met my step goals the past couple days. It's easier when they get back down into the 5000s rather than 6500 or 7000.

Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! I did a LOT of walking, both downtown and on our property. I uploaded my smart watch ap to my phone again to track daily steps. 6 different fruits and veggies consumed yesterday.

Hi Kids! I dropped another pound yesterday, but since you all know the scale can fluctuate from day to day, I waited until today to verify that loss. So, I'm down a total of 12 pounds now.

Way to go!!! I don't know about you but I seem to be fighting for every pound these days. My mantra is even a pound a week is 52 lbs in a year! And the year is going to pass no matter what I eat or weigh. That said, I can't say enough about how much this new way of eating is benefiting me! My complexion has improved dramatically, my energy level is improved, my mood is good...I want to lose more weight but even if I don't these other benefits make the change more than worth it!

Managed to get 18 days of exercise in during March. Far better than the 11 for February. Clearly during spring break, I stopped tracking calories and water. Here’s to April!

Great job, everyone! Continuing to focus on low carb fruits and veggies: Tuesday 8 Wednesday 5 Today 9
The above includes baby spinach, bok choy, cherry tomatoes, dill pickles, red chile peppers (in the enchilada sauce), cauliflower, blueberries, strawberries, lime juice, avocado, black olives, and portobello mushrooms. I try my best to serve fresh produce, but we do have a freezer drawer full of different varieties. Jarred and canned items also include artichokes, okra, olives, green beans, and a few others. Consuming this much produce probably puts me over 20 carbs a day, but oh well. I am grateful we are able to purchase fresh produce, especially throughout the winter months.

Step and water goals have not been met the past few days.
I did meet with my homeopathic doc today and my chemistry is getting back on track these past four weeks. He adjusted my vitamin regimen and I meet with him in six weeks.
I meet with my my therapist on Saturday and I'm hopeful to add more tools to the toolbox for getting through each day.

Down one more pound, for a total of 13 pounds lost. I REALLY wanted to lose this last one, as tomorrow is Easter, I'm cooking, and I might regain a pound or two. But, I AM planning to have the big meal around lunchtime, so I'll have time to try & burn off some calories before bedtime. The weather is supposed to be MUCH warmer than usual, in the 70's, so I should be able to get in some walking.

Hi everyone! Things are going well here. Despite the fact I've dipped into the Easter candy a few times, I'm down a few pounds. I contribute this to a LOT of walking Saturday. Helping the Easter Bunny hide eggs, and hosting an outdoor potluck on Saturday, resulted in almost 6 hours on my feet and 5,000 steps. This week's fruit and vegetable intake will include spaghetti squash, jalapenos, cherries, cauliflower, avocado, stir-fried veggies, salad wrap contents, and veggie spirals (Green Giant sweet potato "rotini").

I finally had my 4 pound whoosh over yesterday and today. I'm at 205.9. A little disappointed that I didn't get under 200 pounds by the end of March. I'm only losing about an average of a pound a week, but I didn't start exercising until March, and I was doing pretty light stuff until a couple of weeks ago. So I'm hopeful that as I cruise from obese to overweight BMI that my weight loss at least remains at the same rate. I'm also reminding myself of the other positive changes I made to my diet like cutting out artificial sweetener. I go back to the doctor in a month and really hope I see even more positive changes in my bloodwork.

April is off to a good start. We've had some great weather, so I've been able to get outside more. I cannot wait to move this summer - we are moving to a city without cold/snowy winters. Warm weather and sunshine make it so much easier for me to get outside.
My DH has been feeling off for a few days, so my eating has been all over the place. I'm not interested in making multiple meals, so whatever sounds good to him is what I've been making. Lots of carbs and comfort food, haha. He seems to be feeling better today, so hopefully in another couple days we can go back to more "normal" eating.

Ok, I survived Easter, and am back to my pre-Easter weight. I think a pound a week is a good rate of loss, bobosensei. We've got much warmer than normal weather, so yes, I have been outside walking.

Met my step goal today. It helps that I was able to make it to the park to trek. My 4-week average is 50% success. My 7-day average is 3 out of 7 days. Average actual steps is just over 5,000/day. Water goal is 5 cups/day for the past week. Not great. I'm going to work on that.

Had a crappy day today--didn't make it to work--but did make it to the gym and pedaled for 30 minutes/4.6 miles.

I've been stuck at 30 lbs lost for 2 weeks. On the plus side, my energy level is the best it's been in my memory. This keeps blowing my mind. Something I was eating really didn't do me any favours. I really wish I had realised this a long time ago. Oh well, I see it now. It helps to keep me eating right even though the scale isn't moving.
