This past week went okay. I hit my step goal. I finally found the motivation to do arm workouts and have a good little routine. My eating was okay. I've gained a pound upping my carb intake after a few weeks of keto, but I can live with that.
March goals:
17 days of arm workouts - so about 4 a week 515,000 steps - that means 16,613 step a day, which will be a stretch Maintain my weight - I mean, a loss would be great, but let's be realistic here lol
If I can do those 3 things I'll call that a win for the month. Good luck everyone with your own healthy goals. Summer is coming!

March goals are to continue walking and moving more as long as the weather holds. And to survive. I need to buckle down and finish a certification this month. Unfortunately, my procrastination is going to involve long hours in front of the laptop.

I am going to stay clean with my eating and hopefully lose at least another 10 lbs. More than the weight I would like to go down a size or two.

I've lost around 7 pounds. I'm sort of fluctuating on the weight loss, so apparently I've hit a plateau. I want to lose more, but I'm letting my body tell me when I'm overdoing it. When Spring gets here, probably in one more month, I plan to take the dog out & walk with me. He's short (a corgi), so walking through snowdrifts just doesn't work. But, he's got plenty of energy. So, he should keep me going...

I would like my March goal to be upping my steps (they were super low in February due to winter weather). But I start a new job on March 15, so I've decided not to set goals this month. I'm sure I'll still have time to exercise but I won't know what things look like until I really get started, and I'd rather not be disappointed that I didn't reach whatever goal I set for myself. So the most I'm going to do is say that I want to continue limiting my adult beverages (helps save calories) and work on continuing to eat healthier. That'll have to be enough.

Thanks for the call out Chloe. I need to stick with my intermittent fasting and only eat between 11 and 6.
Need to log food into myfitness pal.
I need to get outside for at least an hour when the temp is >50 degrees.

It's March! What goals do you have for this month?

thanks for the tag, Chloe, looks like I am the one treading water here. Been in a kind of dark place for a bit, trying to climb out right now, last week has been beter. Have been avoiding all the WIR threads as I've been avoiding a lot of things just trying to power through. Still focusing on the basics. water, greens, yoga, walking. hoping to start gardening soon, the increased sunlight is helping - trying to get out there for a bit each day for walking when weather permits. Ordered new running shoes, hoping to start up when all the snow is gone. Since I get the plantar fasciitis, trying to make sure I do my yoga daily for a few weeks before starting up.

Shit, I forgot to weigh myself this morning, so not off to a good start.
Continue to abstain from booze except on Sundays.
Stop ignoring my watch when it tells me to move.
3 flights of stairs each way, each day.
Drink water and eat veggies every day.
Get back into some sort of exercise routine. It's getting easier with spring approaching.

I'm down 9 pounds from my highest, but still sitting at 208 pounds. But my last pair of jeans I bought fits again which is a blessing, and I've stopped using splenda in my morning coffee which I never thought I'd be able to do. In addition to adopting low carb/keto, I've started intermittent fasting doing a 16/8 window. So I have my coffee with heavy cream when I get up, then I eat around 12-1pm, have a small snack of some cheese or nuts around 4pm, and then my final meal at 8pm. I'm considering doing a 18/6 and moving my dinner up to 6pm so that I can get the kitchen cleaned and get to bed earlier.
I'd like to kick my habit of going to bed at midnight so that I can get up earlier and exercise before work. My peloton is supposed to come tomorrow, and since it was already delayed by 6 weeks once I hope it really comes. I'm too heavy to start running again and it's been so cold and rainy that I want something indoors to rely on.
I am slightly concerned about my left knee. Last week my old dog had an accident on the hardwood floor. I didn't have the light on in the dining room so when I crossed through to put a plate in the dishwasher I slipped in dog pee and fell on my butt. I have a bruise on my right wrist and hip bone, my left knee is sore, and I have a cut on my left foot. I was able to walk fine afterward (and I didn't break the plate), but my knee still hurts when I touch it. It doesn't hurt as much as it did at first so I hope it is just a bruise that is healing.
Assuming the knee is okay I plan to start slowly with the peloton this month and work up to 3 mornings during the week before work. I'd like to get back under 200 by the end of the month. 9 pounds should be doable especially if I start working out regularly.

Hi there. I'll join in as this is one area I consistently let go by the wayside. I lost a total of 11.4 pounds in 2020, and would like to double that amount this year. ~Stick with low carb/low sodium
~Focus on vegetable and berry intake ~Exercise, hand weights, yoga, stretching 4+ times a week
Knee Deep in Water Chloe, thank you for the tag. Like minds.... I gained back 6 pounds since January 1st. I've been eating carby foods, not exercising, and more importantly, not making myself a priority. I feel like crap and probably look like it, too. I'm tired of the roller coaster, and of beating myself up. So, above I've quoted my goals from January. And I'm restarting. Again. For the millionth time. I've got a major event to attend next month, and will use it as focus on my first mini goal. Thank you for being here, ladies.

Thanks for tagging me, Knee Deep in Water Chloe I thought I was off to a great start this year -- Rukh O'Rorke inspired me to get my first-ever planner (Erin Condron) and I spend quite a bit of time setting my January goals and designing how to track them. I did terrible. On the plus side, I met my workout goals for the first 3 weeks, but pretty much everything else fell by the wayside. Feb-- I didn't even bother with a plan Between Covid, and politics, and life in general, I have been a slug, which makes me feel worse. BUT . . . I started my 12th year volunteering as a tax preparer a couple of weeks ago. We are very understaffed this year, as many regular volunteers opted out due to covid (I don't blame them). So, it has given me something to focus on. Our very small team is trying hard to keep up with the demand while meeting all covid restrictions, and hopefully not burning out. So, my new goal is to try to meet the basic needs of the household/family while completing as many returns as possible. In a way I think this may be pulling me out of my funk -- I'm thinking I will be able to plan for May after tax season, and I will get serious again about the goals I ignored in Jan. ...at least that's what I tell myself!

My goals are to meet my step goals as often as possible. Daylight Savings begins on the 14th so that means more sunshine after work and more time to go for a walk at the park.
I meet with a new doctor this Wednesday and I'm curious what he has to say.
I definitely don't want to skimp on my water goals but I confirmed, last night, that it's really not a good idea to take those last three cups in at 9 o'clock at night. I feel like I was up every hour.

And then I get hit with a migraine. At nearly 2pm, I have fewer than 400 steps in but I DO have 14 hours of sleep logged. And my "body battery" shows 100.

I’m going to call most of February a bust, especially last week as one of my employees was out and I covered her stuff and my normal stuff, so worked an insane number of hours. I did commit and stick to our work challenge of a “dry” February, so I’ll take that as a win.
March’s challenge is to walk one mile per day, so I’m off to a great start! Yesterday was the treadmill after the kids were in bed, but today I went and walked over lunch.

An interesting tidbit...when I was a kid and got sick, my mom would always tell me "You were home sick so you can't go outside when school is out and play." Well, as an adult, I stuck to that notion: if I've been home sick, I don't go anywhere if I get better later in the day. Even with my migraines. Which is a little off, if you think about it. And I always felt like I was misbehaving if I ran an errand later in the day when my migraine was no longer kicking my ass.
Well, today, I had an epiphany of sorts: There's nothing wrong with going out for a good long trek if I'm actually feeling up to it. I had a migraine this morning that lasted until 1 or 2 o'clock but I was feeling fine by 3:30 and thought "Why should I deny myself something that is good for me and will probably help reduce future migraines just because of that notion about staying home."
So, that is another goal: To get active if and when I'm feeling up to, every chance I get.
Do you have any "parental advice" that stuck with you that you eventually realized wasn't all that great?

I have that one too, but I take it to mean that I have to get rested so I don't relapse. I also had the old "eat everything on your plate". No if I am full or just don't like something I can leave food. I can even, gasp, throw food out

nidena, mine is: "Exercise is bad for asthma," so I would use it as an excuse to get out of PE, and mom would write me notes accordingly. I now know exercise is good for asthma, as it increases lung capacity. That being said, of course I don't do cardio when my lungs are tight, nor do I do so outdoors when it is cold outside. Things I've done for myself the past 24+ hours: ~Ate 3 different types of vegetables ~Ate a dark chocolate square with a peanut butter smear, well, okay, maybe two ~Had club soda, not alcohol, with supper last night ~Went to bed at a decent hour ~Weight down 2 pounds
And, I feel like I've experienced more stress in less than one hour here at the office than most experience in an entire work day. No wonder it is too easy to slip back into bad habits....

We probably weren't allowed out if we were off sick. Some kids used to show up late for school, like a half day with parents saying they were sick for the morning. My stepmom said if you were too sick to go to school at 8, you were staying home the whole day.
I coveted that perfect attendance award and my quarterly sinus infections made it impossible. As an adult I see it differently now that those kids probably should have stayed home but maybe the parents didn't have a choice.

I should see if I can sell that on FB marketplace, in favor of one like you just got.
