Crap, I forgot to weight myself this morning. I will do it tomorrow morning and it will be ugly. I haven't been good at all and today there are goodies at work and a work provided lunch, all good food and I am not feeling very strong against temptations today. I'm just going to enjoy it. I will just try to keep afloat until the New Year and until then work on a plan for 2012. I am ready for a good year!

Hi Guys! I've been following for a while, used to post way back when. Anyhoo...Can I get some advice? I have been (since Sept, but just started really monitoring in Dec) on what I feel is a pretty agressive (while not killing me, it's tough to do) workout plan. The deal that baffles me is this: while I've got a ton more energy and feel better, the scale is not tipping like I expected and it's making me doubt my efforts! Anyone have any experience with diet? Maybe the bread group is not agreeing with my body? I'm just not getting it??? I've pretty much given up drinking, I have a couple light beers here and there but NOTHING like I did before November/December. I eat VERY healthy, ie: wheat toast w/ p butter for breakfast, salad w/ veggies (no meat for lunch, and a healthy dinner, usually spaghetti, chili, chicken, etc. Maybe I'm not consuming enough calories??? Anyways, here's my workout schedule so far for Dec, I do the elliptical usually for 1-1/5 miles, then jump on the treadmill for the rest. On the treadmill, I walk at a 3.7-3.9 rate and try to run in intervals for at least 1/4 mile at a time at a pace of 5.5, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Nov 28 - 1 mile (132 calories) Nov 29 - 1.5 miles (184 calories) Nov 30 - 2 miles (223 calories) Dec 1 - 2.5 miles (285 calories) Dec 2 - 3 miles (330 calories) Dec 4 - shoveled snow 3/4 hour (237 calories) Dec 5 - 2 miles (211 calories) Dec 7 - 2 miles (215 calories) Dec 9 - 3 miles (320 calories) Dec 12 - 2 miles (228 calories) Dec 14 - 2 miles (246 calories) Dec 15 - 1.5 miles (186 calories) Dec 16 - 3 miles (328 calories) Dec 19 - 2 miles (240 calories) Dec 20 - 1.5 miles (180 calories) Sorry for the long post!

ez - are you tracking calories in v. calories burned? When I started tracking on MFP, it was eye-opening how much I was actually consuming. Maybe that would help? And I know some people swear by low-carb diets or whatever, but I know I do better with just moderation instead of trying to avoid something all together.
And GREAT JOB on those runs!!

ez - I'd recommend tracking on SparkPeople.com for a week or so to see what your calorie intake really is. Maybe you just aren' t eating a balanced enough diet so your body is hanging on to those calories? Or you're building up some muscle, too.
Weighed in - up 1.2 ugh. So 171.6, which is .4 above where I was when I joined WW in May 2010. But still 10 pounds below my high in January 2010. I know if I actually follow the plan for once it'll be a success, but my willpower is low especially this time of year. Going to go to the gym tonight, as it used to be Zumba night. Hopefully that'll help me feel like I'm balancing out all these parties. And people seriously need to stop gifting me mint chocolates. I can't resist!

ez: Have you taken any measurements? Sometimes, since muscle is so much denser than fat, you are replacing fat with muscle and won't see that on the scale. Also, don't worry!!! Stress creates hormones that will make you hold onto fat. Just keep at what you are doing and it will happen!!

MN-Invester 168¼ lbs 12/22/11 (226 lbs. 4/14/11)Down 1¼ from last week. In two hours we'll pick up my younger sister and her partner from the airport. Later today we'll see my oldest sister. I've lost 28 pounds since I've seen all of them. I'll also see a niece that I haven't seen since last Christmas. I'm down more than 60 pounds from then. Woo-hoo! I am so excited! I was looking at some photos from last Christmas. I am so very glad that I don't look like that any more! I still haven't bought any new tops. I've been shopping, but the only top that I really liked was one that another sister wore last Christmas. So I'm wearing my old tops from the back of my closet. I've had to remove the shoulder pads from some of them - - that shows you how old they are!

231.5 this morning. That's up from 227.0 on 12/15/11. Goal: Under 230 (for the last time) by 1/1/12. Make a game plan and stick to it!

turbo - very true. I think a reason I'm just treading water is I'm pretty okay with how I look most days. I might not like the number, but I usually feel sexy and most people think I weigh a good 20lbs less than I do. But I keep telling myself "Get healthier so you can be a good baby incubator!" lol. It's helping.

Well I'm determined to lose about 15 pounds this winter. And no this is not a New Years Resolution. This is me deciding that for once and all to make my internal organs happy and get off my ass and lose the damn extra weight. I get seen by the doctors all the time, so next time I go I'll get my weight checked. I am though doing Brainwave Entrainment function commands to get myself eating better. I know what I have to do and I'm going to do it.

I received Zumba for or new Kinect system. Have not yet broken it out yet. We did play a few of the other games and I have to say I already feel like I get a better work out with this than I did with the Wii games. I will weigh in tomorrow and I am just hoping I haven't gained alot as I did a whole lot of eating this past week and it will continue with more holiday festivities this weekend. I just have to try an be good during the week to try and counteract. ;D

If anyone is interested and is on SparkPeople, they are having a challenge in January. It's called the "January Jumpstat Challenge" I'm going to sign up and am trying to convince my BF to join. Just another thing to help keep motivated. If you're not on SP and interested, let me know and I'll shoot you an invite :-)

Forgot to weight in this morning. I have battling a chest/head cold for 2.5 - 3 weeks now. Finally called the dr and they are calling in some anitbiotics as they said a normal cold should have been gone by now. Probably will just wait to weigh in next week.

231.0 this morning. Down 1/2 a pound from last week. Goal is to be at 229 on 1/1/12. I have started a four week Turbo Jam rotation and have added 10 minutes of rebounding to the each day. I needed to get my butt moving!!

I HATE 9 VOLT BATTERIES! AND I HATE THE SCALES THAT USE THEM! Yes the scale died again. I haven't decided whether to buy more 9volts or just replace the whole flippin scale...

Replace the scale mizbear.
I'm rebelling and refusing to weigh myself right now.

MN-Invester 167¼ lbs 12/29/11 (226 lbs. 4/14/11)
Down 1 pound from last week. I'll take it! I had been very busy the two days before Christmas and down to 166 on Christmas Day. That was so nice! Now, for the past couple of days, I've been eating Christmas candy. I'll be better after the 1st.
I ended up wearing a couple of nice, older tops for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My little sister was looking through old photos and found a Christmas picture from 1992 with me wearing one of those tops. Oh well. The good news was that my older sister had packed the top she wore last Christmas which I liked so well and I tried it on. It was one size too small for me, but looked really good. My brother gave me a gift card to Kohl's, so I'm going to go there today and see if they have one in my size.

I was just thinking... It sure is good that the New Year comes so quickly after Christmas. I have been eating way too much Christmas candy and way too many Christmas cookies. We'll spend New Year's weekend with my brother's family and have lots of good things to eat there too (I make a great shrimp / crab casserole for NYEve supper).
But, come New Year's Day (or, really, the day after), then comes the marketing push to get in shape - sales on gym memberships, sales on exercise equipment, etc. It's a whole new year, a time to commit to getting healthy. Just the added incentive I need after pigging out for a week.
A happy and healthy New Year to all my fellow losers!

I know I've gained a few pounds over the holiday, but am trying to keep up walking and not being a complete lump. I didn't weigh in this week, but will return next week. I got the Zumba Fitness DVDs and maraca/weights, and the Dance Central 2 game for Kinect. The Zumba is a good workout, but not as fun as a real class because in class the music is stuff you know. I like the weights though - not enough to be exhausting but enough to work your arms a little while you zumba. Haven't played the Kinect game yet, but I know the first one was a decent workout and very fun. Planning on bringing it to the NYE house party I'm going to. Last year we played the first one and it was hilarious, especially when the guys do it and get insulted they get low scores.
Happy New Year everyone!

I want in - I am 5'9" and just weighed in at 184. My goal weight is 150 lbs.
I want to lose the weight. I am tired of making excuses for myself. ('I'm tall so it's not that bad.' 'At least I don't weigh _____ ( fill in the blank w/20 or more pounds than what I am weighing in at the time.)
I plan to lose weight by eating a healthy breakfast each day. I will get on the treadmill for 20 minutes 5 days a week. I will limit portions and drink more water than soda. I will also limit junk food.
Am I missing anything? How should I post my numbers? I am excited about starting this plan. Being a member of the WIRR northeast for the past two years has helped me immensely. I am hoping for the same support and encouragement here.
