MN-Invester 172¾ lbs 11/24/11 (226 lbs. 4/14/11)
I'm up ½ pound. The way I've eaten this past week, I guess I'm thankful that it's not more!
We're having Thanksgiving at my mom's. My SIL is preparing the noon time meal - she's a great cook. I've bought lots of veggies and fruit for supper, so at least that should be low calorie and nutritious.
Have a happy Thanksgiving, everyone, and drive carefully!

beth- If you use potato starch to make your gravy or tapioca starch- that should keep it gluten free but act as a thickener?? Yes, that's supposed to work. But making gravy, while yummy, is a PITA - standing and stirring when I've got other pots to watch and dish up = not happening. ;D The turkey juice worked fine instead of the gravy. And the stuffing turned out ok. The stuffing inside the bird was tastier though. It needed some additional seasonings though.

Not a very good start, but I did get through Thanksgiving. Could be worse.

Beth- I had a thought- I will have to look up the name of it, but there is actually a cookbook out for substitutions for gluten free and allergens and stuff. It's available through the Good Cook book club and probably through amazon. There are also some straight up gluten free cookbooks out there.
I am reworking the diet and also trying to use up food at my grandmothers as fast as I can. She has a deep freeze- something I can not have at the apartment and my mother and I have 2 turkeys, 4 chickens and several packages of hamburger and roasts in there. Plus veggies. So, I am going to use the big turkey to make turkey meatballs for a Christmas party I need to go to. I am going to cook the other smaller turkey and the chickens down and break them up and make ready to eat food for while we are moving Mom here. The burger will hopefully get partialy used too. The mexican pizzas I will feed to my nieces. The veggies we will use.
I am not being a defeatist, but I am going t weigh in and not really do a whole lot until the first of year- there is too much going on.

Acemom 171.8 lbs 11/28/11 (174.0 lbs. 7/18/11) Bleh - up a few. But I think considering that I have been sick and then the holidays - I'm just glad it's not more. I cooked the past 2 nights in a row. Chicken parm in the crockpot Saturday night (did not fry the chicken) and then ground turkey tacos last night. I brought the leftover taco meat and mexican rice for lunch. Overall I think it was a pretty successful eating weekend.

Yeah, mizbear. Unfortunately, it's not just gluten free, its' sugar free and yeast free and with the exception of meat, mostly raw foods. But we probably could use a cookbook to give us suggestions/recipes to start with and then tweak.

Wisconsin Beth: All that fear for nothing! You managed to maintain during the holiday and that is definitely reason for celebration! acemom: Mmmmm, chicken parm sounds amazing!! I think you officially just made me hungry! serious: Just keep at it girl!! Those pounds will be scared of your determination and run away soon enough!! MN-Investor: Way to plan ahead and bring healthy stuff to Thanksgiving! You are a much better person than me. I bring the most unhealthy dishes I make and that is the only time I make them. That way, I get to indulge without eating the whole thing! dakota: Woohooo for being lighter than you were on Thanksgiving!!! That's awesome!! sbcalimom: I'm very excited to celebrate you being out of the 190s with you!! Woot woot!!

I'm going to be dropping out of the weight loss for awhile. I'll focus on maintaining the next couple of months, but I can't lose any more weight right now. Good luck to everyone though, and I'll be back full-force trying to lose weight in August. I will still probably read and cheer everyone on.

Mizbear - hugs to you, so sorry about your grandma, and hope the housing and car situations are resolved quickly. WIBeth - glad to hear you are on your way to feeling better. Acemom - your descriptions are making me drool. ;D
I have to say the combination of zumba and breastfeeding are doing wonders. I'm down to 150, and am hoping that my goal of 140 is really possible. I honestly don't think I've weighed this little since middle school, and am so amazed and excited. I hope I don't sound like I'm bragging, I just wanted to encourage everyone and share a success story with you all. ;D

165.8 this morning. Up .4 pounds from 2 weeks ago. I was on vacation last week and spent two days sick as a dog and only wanted the stuff that is bad for me. Then Thanksgiving. All and all I am not suprised and not two disappointed. DH and I have decided that come January we are going to suck it up and get a membership to the Y in our town. The up front cost will hurt a little but after 4 months I get $500 reimbursed by my company so it only amounts to a little over $30 a month average which is definetly doable.
DH had his physical a few weeks ago and he found out he has high cholesterol. I have mine later this morning.
We also signed of for a 5K race with obstacles called the Warrior Dash and that is in June. I really need to get into better shape before then.
Keep on losing everyone!! ;D

I'm down to 174.6.
Myrrh- Congrats. I'm starting to feel so much better about how I look. When people ask if I'm trying to lose more and find out that I want to lose another 25 pounds, they think I'll be skin and bones, but I know I won't be because I was about that weight when I met my husband and thought I looked pretty good.
Good luck to everyone else. YOU CAN DO IT!

Frugal Nurse: *hugs* I hope that whatever life obstacle has temporarily sidelined you will be short-lived and painless! Please take care and don't forget about us!! jando: Four pounds in four weeks is COMPLETELY doable!! I know you can do it!!! goldfrankmyr: (yes, I massacred your name, lol) Thank you for sharing your success!! So very happy for you!! I can't wait to get back down to what I was in high school (and that will take quite a while) much less middle school!! What type of zumba do you do? Live classes, videos, Wii? I have it on the Wii and honestly, I have not used it hardly at all. The few times I did, I liked it though! I took a live class with a friend a couple of years ago and was reminded that I am not much of a live class kind of girl. poohbiscit: That small gain will be gone in no time. I think that is awesome that you and your husband decided on the Y membership together. I think it is difficult, but important when you are part of a couple to do it together. Good luck!! Yeaaahhh dakota!!!!! You are such an inspiration to me!!! Keep at it girl!! TurboThumper 11/23/11 226.0 (10/1/11, 234.0)This is a pound down from last week (which was a 1/2 pound up from the week before), so 1/2 a pound lost in two weeks. With it being my birthday and Thanksgiving and my goal for this week being maintenance, I am VERY okay with that!! 8 pounds total! Goal for this week: 4 pounds Coming off of two weeks of very little scale movement, I am ready to challenge myself. Action goal for this week: 20 minutes daily on the rebounder (can be in two chunks of 10 min) + 2 extra workouts of at least 30 minutes of whatever I choose (probably Turbo Jam or Zumba) I have a mid-range goal in mind too: under 210 by January 14th. My family will go to a hotel with a waterpark for our Christmas celebration that day. So, that leaves me just over 6 weeks to lose 16.5 pounds. I can do it!! Happy losing, ladies!!

Frugal posted on the pregnancy thread that she's expecting. She has a history of miscarriages so we're wishing LOTS of sticky dust to her to keep this one.

MN-Invester 173½ lbs 12/1/11 (226 lbs. 4/14/11)
ACK! I'm up ¾ pound. The second week in a row I've been up. But it's been an up and down week and I actually weighed 171½ at one point.
It should be much better this week with DH back to work after more than a week of vacation. I find myself sitting around the house and munching more when DH is at home. I'll have to keep that in mind with Christmas coming. DH will take vacation for the last two weeks of December. Plus, my exercise class doesn't meet for those two weeks.
Three weeks until relatives arrive for Christmas. It's so easy to be gung ho about a diet first thing in the morning when a person isn't hungry yet. I'm going to have to maintain that resolve throughout the day. I really want to be in the 160s by the time the relatives get here. That's less than 4 pounds. I should be able to do it.

Thanks everyone for your concerns- I didn't mean to worry anybody. I am expecting again, so losing weight right now would not be a good idea. Things are going ok so far with this pregnancy, but I'm only 4 weeks, so anything could happen. I will hang around though, because I still want to be kept accountable for healthy eating and regular exercise. I know that will not happen tonight though, one of my co-workers is moving away, and we are having a pot luck for her tonight. I'm going to try and enjoy the food before the morning sickness kicks in....

Congrats Frugal, hope you have a healthy pregnancy and easy delivery!
Turbothumper, I'm going to a live class. I love it. I have the wii game but I think it's too easy for me to stop and take care of distractions (aka kiddos). If I go to the class and see all the other ladies doing it (we have a number that are not as athletic or obviously several years my senior) I feel like I have to keep up too. Sad maybe, but true.
