The current death count as of April 14, 2020 from the Covid-19 in the U.S. is 25,239 and counting. Next update April 15. Just to update... now the fool who complained about 17,000 deaths in a year has 5 times the number in 2 months. Bigly winning. Best pandemic ever. All the poor souls lost They were just old people, so it’s OK.

One big-assed snowflake living in the White House. Trump says critics want him to keep economy closed until election: 'It's a political thing'President Trump, in an interview that aired Thursday morning with Fox Business Network's Maria Bartiromo, said he believes his political critics want a slower reopening of the economy not due to the coronavirus threat, but to hurt him politically in the November election. The president made those comments in the same interview where he said he disagrees with the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Dr. Anthony Fauci, on the measures needed to reopen schools. When asked if he thinks his political opponents want him to keep the economy closed going into the presidential election, Trump said he does. "Yeah, I do. I do. I think it's a political thing," Trump told Bartiromo. Complete article here: Storm clouds gather over US stocks as hopes for quick recovery fade

It's snowing again in the Oval Office. Trump calls ousted HHS whistleblower Rick Bright a 'disgruntled employee' before House coronavirus hearing
President Donald Trump on Thursday tore into ousted federal scientist-turned-whistleblower Dr. Rick Bright just before Bright was set to testify before Congress that the U.S. "missed early warning signals" about the coronavirus. "I don't know the so-called Whistleblower Rick Bright, never met him or even heard of him," Trump tweeted Thursday morning. "But to me he is a disgruntled employee, not liked or respected by people I spoke to and who, with his attitude, should no longer be working for our government!" Trump said. Complete article here: Trump calls ousted HHS whistleblower Rick Bright a 'disgruntled employee' before House coronavirus hearingIf trump doesn't know Rick Bright how can he call him a disgruntled employee. More flatulence out of trump's flapping gums.

instead, we have this mixed bag, where Blue states are actually helping Trump win by doing the right thing.

True, but its his message because he wants to deny reality. The economy was never closed, just not fully open just like during the Spanish Flu. Things are going to change because of the virus and unfortunately certain industries are going to be hurting because of their business model. Dine in establishments are going to be hurting or close in droves because they were not built with social distancing in mind. Same with airlines, cruises, amusement parks, etc. It sucks, but this is the reality of 2020 all over the globe.

SATIRETrump Wishes He Could Replace Fauci with the Doctor Who Saved Him from VietnamBy Andy Borowitz WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Donald Trump wishes he could replace Anthony Fauci with the podiatrist who helped him avoid serving in the Vietnam War, Trump said on Thursday. Speaking to reporters, Trump disparaged Fauci by arguing that he is not “half the doctor” that his former podiatrist was. “You tell Tony to do something, and he says he has to look at a bunch of numbers and charts first, and even then he maybe doesn’t do what you told him to,” Trump complained. “You asked my foot doctor in Queens to say I had bone spurs and, boom, ten minutes later you got the note.” If his podiatrist were still alive, Trump said, “I would tell him that the country was at war with coronavirus, and he would get me out of it, no questions asked.” He also questioned whether Fauci was as medically qualified as his former podiatrist. “An epidemiologist like Tony specializes in just one thing,” Trump said. “A podiatrist has to know about both feet. That’s twice as much knowledge, medically speaking.” Complete article here: Trump Wishes He Could Replace Fauci with the Doctor Who Saved Him from Vietnam

Wow, just wow, President Obama did leave a pandemic playbook behind. The Senate majority leader didn't have any details of what was being done to protect the American public. Parroting Trump can get you in trouble, Mitch. Hope Amy includes this in one of her campaign ads: McConnell, asked about his comments during a Fox News interview, said that "I was wrong."
"They did leave behind a plan. I clearly made a mistake in that regard," he said.
"As to whether or not the plan was followed and who is the critic and all the rest, I don't have any observation about that because I don't know enough about the details of that ... to comment on it in any detail," he added. www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/mcconnell-says-obama-administration-did-leave-behind-pandemic-plan/ar-BB146eqQ?ocid=spartanntp

Seeking to reassure the public on the progress of a vaccine, he said many countries would work together to develop one. "We're working together with many different countries, and again, we have no ego, we have no ego. Whoever gets it, great. We'll work with them and they'll work with us." Remember: Trump has repeatedly blamed China for the coronavirus pandemic, claiming Beijing could have prevented it. www.cnn.com/us/live-news/us-coronavirus-update-05-15-20/index.htmlWait...what? You have no ego? You keep bragging every time you get on stage how much better the USA is doing than other countries. (It's a lie). You call that having no ego? In any case the USA refused to participate in the Global Vaccine Summit.

More flatulence out of trump's flapping gums. I love how trump slams Bright by saying people don’t like him.’ Like I care how popular someone is- I don’t pick a surgeon based on how many pals he has on Facebook. I’d prefer my tax accountant have zero friends so he’ll be sure to get my taxes done on time. Besides if we’re picking based only on how many people like someone, the deeply unpopular Trump would be put out on his ass today. So many things about trump are straight from the third grade rule book. Next he’ll claim bright has boogers and cooties.

Trump's go to is that everyone he forces out is a disgruntled employee who no one likes, so he can discredit them with his base. It is in his playbook. Forcing out the head of the vaccine division seems like a bad move at the moment, but what do know

Our country is in a heap of trouble: anti-vaxxers. Millions of Americans will refuse to get a coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available, polls sayScientists across the globe are working hard to develop a COVID-19 vaccine as worldwide deaths from the coronavirus illness push toward 300,000. But there’s no guarantee these vaccine efforts will succeed — and millions of Americans seem to be fine with that. The results from a new set of surveys by Morning Consult found that 14 percent of American adults would not get a COVID-19 vaccine if one were available and 22 percent aren’t sure if they would. In a separate recent survey, currently undergoing peer review, political scientists Kristin Lunz Trujillo and Matt Motta found that 23% of U.S. respondents said they would not get vaccinated against COVID-19. Anti-vaccine activists have participated in many of the protests across the U.S. against governors’ stay-at-home orders, which are meant to slow the coronavirus pandemic. Anti-vaccine leaders tend to argue that fear of COVID-19 is being manufactured by corrupt governments and corporations. Various false claims are being spread, such as “the idea that a vaccine has existed for years and has been kept from public consumption,” write Trujillo and Motta. Morning Consult’s latest data shows that 64% of American adults overall say they would get a COVID-19 vaccine. That rises to 80% among those 65 and older. The age group most likely to take a pass on a vaccine: those between 35 and 44. In the Morning Consult polls, only 53% of Americans in this age group said they’d get vaccinated, and 18% said they wouldn’t. Twenty-eight percent said they don’t know if they would. To give trump his due, he is actually correct. If we do nothing the virus (or at least the illness it causes) will go away. Only those with immunity to the disease will be left. The part of that he leaves out with this statement is that there will be hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people who will have to die first. Aside from periodic outbreaks and virus mutations all will be "business as normal". I just wonder how many of his followers are willing to give up half of their family to go hang out at a bar, because it was so hard to stay indoors with nothing than all their electronic diversions to keep them entertained. There have been quite a few WWII related memes on my FB page lately. Most of them depict a person coming out of hiding after a number of years once the Germans were defeated. And the question is"I stayed hidden in an attic/cellar/underground for 5 years to save my life and you can't even make it to a/two month(s)? And they are right. Far too many are acting like spoiled brats rather than thinking adults

Complete article here: Millions of Americans will refuse to get a coronavirus vaccine when it becomes available, polls sayI was talking with my mom (on Mother's day)on the phone. She said she won't be getting any vaccine, because Bill Gates is putting microchips in it, to track us. Mom is not an anti-vaxxer, we were all fully vaccinated as kids. She doesn't watch Fox news, is not on Facebook (doesn't use computers). I have no idea where she got this idea from. please ask her, and report back.
thanks.

Drug promoted by Trump as coronavirus ‘game changer’ increasingly linked to deathsFor two months, President Trump repeatedly pitched hydroxychloroquine as a safe and effective treatment for coronavirus, asking would-be patients “What the hell do you have to lose?” Growing evidence shows that, for many, the answer is their lives. Clinical trials, academic research and scientific analysis indicate that the danger of the Trump-backed drug is a significantly increased risk of death for certain patients. Evidence showing the effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine in treating covid-19 has been scant. Those two developments pushed the Food and Drug Administration to warn against the use of hydroxychloroquine outside of a hospital setting last month, just weeks after it approved an emergency use authorization for the drug. Alarmed by a growing cache of data linking the anti-malaria drug to serious cardiac problems, some drug safety experts are now calling for even more forceful action by the government to discourage its use. Several have called for the FDA to revoke its emergency use authorization, given hydroxychloroquine’s documented risks. “They should say, ‘We know there are harms, and until we know the benefits, let’s hold off,’ ” said Joseph Ross, a professor of medicine and public health at Yale University, who added that the original authorization may have been warranted but new evidence has emerged about the drug’s risks. “I’m surprised it hasn’t been revoked yet,” said Luciana Borio, who served as director for medical and biodefense preparedness of the National Security Council and was acting chief scientist at the FDA.
