Just checking in. My FIL passed away in the middle of July and I just can't get back into my routine. Beginning tomorrow though I'm really going to try. Today, I'll just rest up and eat this ice cream.

Weekly check in
The only thing I can say about last week is I hit my step goal.
Did not do any strength training or yoga. Consumed way too many calories.

I missed my last update, but I braved an airplane and saw my sisters for a few days. I needed that mental health boost!
I slacked off on my steps a bit last week, ate and drank too much on my mini-vacation (I never realized Oregon had so many wineries!), and completely gave up on the water intake. Overall, I'm still only down about 1.5 pounds, which is pretty pathetic after like 5 weeks, but meh.
This week: Continue with under 1300 calories a day for all the good it does Average 17,000 steps a day if I'm going to hit my August goal Screw the extra water - I drink so much liquid anyway, that has to be good enough
Knee Deep in Water Chloe how's the strict eating plan going? momof3 I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Enjoy your ice cream and get back in the groove when it feels right. ners yay on your step goal!

"Food too much. Adult beverages too many." This is the story of my life lately. 😔. And I really want a snack and adult beverage! Holding off, and sipping my tea. Getting back on the wagon. Measurements done (embarrassing), and trying to sign into my old MFP account. Can't seem to get my password, so I guess I'll make a new one and start fresh. My step counter broke. Thinking about getting a new one. Was supposed to get one for my birthday/mother's day, and that never happened. Any suggestions on ones that aren't too expensive, but not too cheap, either? This may be more than you were thinking about spending, but I love my Garmin VivoActive watch. I have the 3 series, but it looks like they are selling the 4 now: buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/643399/pn/010-02172-21It has more functionality than I need, but I regularly use the step counter, stair flights counter, stop watch, watch, and the connection to my phone to vibrate when I get phone calls and other notifications.

You were in Oregon! Yes, the wineries are just in the last twenty years or so. It's been an interesting progression for those. Where else did you go?
For my own eating: Nope, I entered a full on binge-cycle last week. I'm doing just fine each day until about 4pm. Then I start to emotionally decompress from my day and I use food as a coping mechanism. It's a problem. I'm up three or four pounds. I've been trying to avoid going past a certain point weight-wise, and I did surpass that this week.

We had to get a new scale. The current one lasted ten years but has just done a whole electrical glitchy thing.
I've done pretty well with exercise this week. I have a leg work out either today or tomorrow and cardio today or tomorrow.

June and July were really low step months for me. But August seems to be getting back on track. It helps that I have an at-home work out option now. And it helps that my ankle is mostly healed! The swelling is like 95% gone, I have no pain, though my range of motion is still limited compared to what it was before I sprained it.
And, finally, we have no cake left in the house. My birthday was at the beginning of August, and we've had cake in the house for like 6 straight weeks. Between seeing my family and them sending me home with cake and my DH buying a birthday cake, it felt like we had cake coming out our ears. I love birthday cake, but it was a little much. So maybe I'll be able to get rid of the few pounds i put on this month.

Thanks Knee Deep in Water ChloeWell I did not eat after 8:30 however did not drink water. Work is extremely stressful so if I can get thru this week without gaining weight I am going to call it a win.

I'm going to try to do some sort of exercise every day. Working at home, I barely even walk.
Saturday: kettlebell workout Sunday: golf Monday: walk 1.6 miles Tuesday: I'm thinking yoga/Pilates
Also: salad/veggies and water every day. I don't remember much from prior days, but: Monday: water Tuesday: salad, I'm going to grab some water now.
(I'm really bad about these lately.)
Weight~163. Still down 20, but up 15 from my middle-age low. Let's see what I can do to bring it down. It's so hard to get motivated without being able to go to the gym.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe I was in Eugene. Such a pretty area!
Last week was fine - not great, but not bad. I averaged just under 17,000 steps a day. I kept my daily calories under 1300 every day except one (totally worth it for Five Guys!). That's about all I can say.
This week:
I need to up my daily step average or I won't hit my August goal. This would be easier if the temps ever fell below 950. Continue with the under 1300 calorie a day starvation plan that isn't helping me lose any weight.
It's too hot for anything else, so that'll do.

Did the exercise yesterday, 2 salads, but only 1/2 water. Today 1 1/2 waters. My kid had a play off peewee league game, which is interfering with exercise and grabbing a salad tonight, but we're at the ice cream shop, so I guess that makes up for it.
Well, there's always tomorrow, except the final peewee game, so there's Friday. I'll at least try to eat better tomorrow.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe Not much better. Figured out due to the fact someone did not get me the payroll for one of the departments I paid someone I should not have. I would have asked about this particular person but I did not have time to think. (I did ask in July and was told to go ahead and pay). On the plus side I figured it out now and not two months from now.

8/25/20 163.2 8/29/20 161.2
Probably just noise, but I'll take it!
ETA: tennis again today, water and a little bit of veggies. I prefer a little more of all 3, but it's enough to put a check mark in the first 2 columns, at least.

Hubbie and I were on vacation this week (a few days a cabin in northeast PA and then a few days in Ithaca). Holy crap was that good for my mental health. Physically, I am beat up from hiking the Rim and Gorge trails loop in Robert Treman State Park yesterday. I don't recommend hiking for 2.5 hours with 1000 ft elevation and then driving for 3.5 hours the next day. 😂 Earlier this week we hiked for two hours in Salt Springs State Park. So a good week for getting some active time and elevation. We also drank all week (visited three wineries and four breweries Wed-Fri), which is something we don't do, so I am feeling some major bloat right now. I weighed myself when we got home and I was up two pounds from when we left Sunday morning, so I think that's fine considering it was an afternoon weigh-in after hours of driving and days of drinking.

Salad, water and kettlebell workout, checks off my goals for yesterday. I should get my new step counter watch within a week, so I'll add something related to that, too. I walk so little wfh these days, I couldn't begin to compete with others here, but it's nice to have the data and know exactly how much I'm not walking. Maybe it'll be the boost I need to add a midday walk outside. That's probably a good idea for many different reasons.

Typed out a whole nice post and I lost it
August's goal was 500,000 steps with a stretch goal of 525,000. I did 518,000, so I'm happy with that. Since I started tracking calories in July?? whenever it was, I'm down a whole 1.8 pounds, which isn't great, but at least it's not a gain.
September goals: 525,000 steps, which might just be doable with the weather cooling down a bit. Lose another 1.5 pounds, which sounds pathetic, I know, but I refuse to eat any less than I'm eating now.
Lizard Queen, ners's challenge, at least for me, isn't so much a challenge to get the most steps, but to keep me accountable and get my butt moving when I don't really feel like it some days. We'd be happy to have you join us regardless of how many steps you get in

Salads, yesterday and today. Yogalates yesterday, resting today because I'm feeling sore and lazy. No water yesterday, but I did have strawberry tea, which I'm pretty sure is caffeine free. Better grab some water--drinking more alcohol than normal today.
Got my watch yesterday. I think it's counting ok, though missing some. It's definitely missing some flights of stairs. it's showing 2, and I know I had 6 from testing it. Oh, and my step count is horrible from being holed up here at home. Incredibly low. I need to make a point of getting out of the house every day. At least I know why my weight is where it is now.

Back to the gym for the last 2 days. It's a start! I actually jogged a bit on the treadmill. I really hate jogging. I don't know why there are so many runners, that just isn't for me! But as a means of exercise, obviously it's a good one. I used to say I never saw a runner with a smile on their face! I’m debating getting to gym next week. Got to see their routine, etc since small gym. Just need to get up off my a@@ and do it. God for you for getting back!

I'm ready to go back to my gym, though I'm not sure I will. Gyms are finally permitted to open back up on Tuesday. I hate running, but don't really mind the elliptical at all. Unfortunately, the decent ones are quite expensive, and my husband has such long legs the cheaper ones just don't work for him. I still can't see doing cardio at the gym with a mask on. I could do weights, though, and my family could still enjoy the pool. Ugh, I just don't know.
Anyway, check marks next to water, salad, and kettlebell workout for today. My weight is still at 162.4. I still need to calibrate my step counter watch. It only counted 2 of the 10 flights of stairs I did today. No idea how accurate the steps are, but I've never had it show anything this low before. I'm going hiking tomorrow with a couple of friends, so I should be able to calibrate it then.
