I want to order out. Just realized I have nothing I can just put in the oven and bake. I used up ground pork for lunch and I don't want to go far for something. Exhausted and need to hydrate once I get food.

takeout tonight. I just haven't decided if that means pizza (meh), Chinese, or sushi. likely not the pizza if that's how I feel about it now. I'm thinking Chinese or Thai. I want something now.

I went with sushi. spicy yellowtail and an "Alaskan maki" of salmon, cuke, avo, and scallion. oh, and seaweed salad. $25 plus tip. I have half the seaweed salad left over, I might go pick up some fish to cook tomorrow night with that as a side.

I'm considering a blizzard from dairy queen, and nothing else.

I'm considering a blizzard from dairy queen, and nothing else. I kind of wish I'd thought of ice cream. I have gelato in the freezer. I'm sick of everything I can easily cook in the kitchen as it is rn, but I'm beyond sick of fast food options. when I ran to the grocery store for a couple pup things, I grabbed a package of Buitoni tortellini and another label of pesto sauce that looked better than the Buitoni one. I broiled some chopped asparagus and tomato, and tossed it all together. I'll pitch what I don't finish, it is all salty AF. I didn't add any. $4.59 - pasta $4.99 - pesto (I have half the container left, which may or may not get used) ? - veggies were already here.

We are having leftover veggie soup tonight. Not much left and ham salad. I have 4 ears of corn to cook so will cook those too. Hubs finished off the cake and DD and he ate more of the apple pie.

lunch today was late, a good sized chicken Caesar wrap. I'm not really hungry tonight, but I'm going to make a skillet meal that I can pick from the next few days - a chicken flavored rice packet, with a full chopped broccoli crown and a can of chicken (since I don't have any fresh cooked except what I need for the pups in the morning.)
$1 - rice packet $1 - can of chicken broth $1.25 - can of chicken $1.50 - broccoli crown ?? - onion, garlic, seasonings.

I have been cooking our kit delivery meals and not much else. Sad, given I am only getting 2 meals per week. Last night I cooked one of my old tried and true regulars that I haven't made for a while. It tasted so good. I remember why I make it so often - it has never failed me.

Tonight is feta pasta bake(with lots of garlic and crushed red pepper) with andouille sausage, a green salad and crusty bread. It's been a while since I have made it

I stopped at the fish market while I was out earlier, and bought a beautiful piece of swordfish. it's a half steak, over 3/4lb! I'm going to cut it almost in half, along the natural 'grain' of the flesh. tonight will be the larger piece, grilled with a Caesar salad. I might grill the romaine heart as well, idk yet.
tomorrow, I'm going to either mix some bruschetta to top the smaller piece or slice a Caprese salad, and broil some asparagus. tomorrow's will be lunch, as dinner will be at the patio with the pups. last week was so fun, we're going to try to make it a weekly thing this summer.
ETA: the fish was way bigger than I imagined when I unwrapped it. tonight's salad had the small 'half' and tomorrow's whatever will be it. no asparagus needed. I may give a bite or two to the pups to see if they like it. I don't think they have had it before. tonight's was seasoned with garlic powder, so I couldn't try tonight

I ordered myself a sub. We are feeding our nephew tonight. His request was Sheetz, a gas station chain with fast food basically made to order.
Apparently there's only Wawa in Central Florida and he's missing the Sheetz since they moved.

Tonight was marinated pork shish kabobs from the amish store, all of us really liked them, first time I've ever tried them. But cooking on the grill likely made them taste better. The sides were cole slaw and rice. Little guy dived in.
I'm in trouble, he has gained 2 pounds since he has been here.
We had ice cream for dessert, last night was popcorn.

H. told me he developed a sensitive stomach to tomatoes. So, I asked is that Pace Picante? No. Just eating too many tomatoes. He had 2 slices of tomato on hamburger on separate days. I'm confused. Nearly all the large portion soups and chilis I make have tomatoes. Since it's summer, I won't be making those.
I'll eliminate the tomatoes I put in Suddenly Salads to add an extra serving to that. Spaghetti Sauce out - oh no! Very easy to leave off tacos and sandwiches.
I'll just have to wait a week or longer then ask how things are.

Likely either a veggie burger or the chicken santa fe flatbread. I think I've had the same thing the last few times we've gone to the patio - a chicken Caesar wrap. time to branch out. Menu

Having dinner at my sister in laws. Not a typical 90 degree meal but her sister is visiting and our nephew requested her chili.
There will also be hot dogs, air fryer chicken legs, salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, funfetti cupcakes and our signature cocktail.
Cocktail is cranberry juice, huckleberry vodka, lemon juice, creme de Cassis, and simple syrup.

that stack is good, I've had it before. I'm having swordfish for lunch now, probably won't want more fish later tonight. lol...
ETA: I ended up getting a pizza. red onion, fresh green pepper and mushrooms, and prosciutto. I have 3/4 of it in a box to go, that works. I also tried the rose wine they have here, it's tasty. "Rose All Day", I've seen that label at my old neighborhood market, but never bought it. now I know it is good, I might grab a bottle.

Probably more seafood. The resort had ribs as a special for lunch today, but both TD and I realized when we had lunch it screwed us up. We have only been eating breakfast and dinner.
Last night, I had a lime and garlic shrimp over rice. It was soooo good. This place also makes a good ceviche, so we had that as an app.

thank you for the reminder that I have a pound chunk of pancetta in the fridge that I need to portion out for freezing....
that dish sounds tasty. I never think to add toasted pine nuts to pasta, whole. I might have to try that.

tonight, I'll roast a few veggies (including tiny potatoes) and pair that with some rotisserie turkey. whether I make a quick gravy or toss it all in some pesto is still TBD.

For the crew, Greek salad, then deep fried breaded shrimp and fries. All 3 loved it, I baked me a piece of salmon. I did eat a couple of the shrimp, they were really good, not just breading.
I gave away 6 heads of cabbage, kept 2. I have cukes and onions from the garden too. The tomatoes are setting on good. but my garden is a mess. Going to try and weed the strawberries tomorrow. I do have celery, sage, rosemary, lavender, cilantro, and parsley out there. Need to dry it. I see some grapes have set on. I need to dig some potatoes and see if any have set on. The broccoli did nothing, pulled it. My peach tree is loaded, I picked a bunch off they are little this year. Not much on the apple trees either.
Maybe overspray of chemical or something. Had this one other time.

Lobster season started July 1 here, so we had lobster the other night. It was quite excellent, and very reasonable. I think our full meal, including 2 beers and my mango margarita was a whopping $50 US. The lobster was a nice sized tail too, more than sufficient, but think I prefer cold water lobster.
