I have no idea. I forgot yet again to take something out of the freezer. I am going home for lunch though, so hopefully I remember then.

Do people still report on the price of the dinner? Tonight is wings and salad. $12 for 3 of us. I especially like comparing to restaurant prices, the wings and salad would easily be $12 each at a restaurant. I try, as it was the original point of these threads. Similar to what wvugurl26 said, it's difficult for me to breakdown the cost of venison DH got and the half pig we purchased. We are not the same species! The first thing I would have done is figured out how much I paid per pound so I could brag about how cheap I got it! Ya, I'm that person. "Nice dress" "Thanks, I got it for $5!"

This does not include the fuel it took for DH to go pick up the meat.
Venison: I have no clue without asking DH. Hunting tag + 1 round of ammo + suet + Kitchenaid $199 (to grind up the meat-we received the attachment package years ago as a wedding gift, but not the actual mixer) + freezer bags + whoknowswhatelse = ??

Meatloaf with potatoes and carrots, maybe some other veggies. Think I will make deviled eggs from the eggs I boiled.
I made juice from all the oranges and grapefruit I had.

Well we were supposed to have budget bytes unstuffed bell peppers. I left the hamburger in the freezer this morning.
I do have 2 Sam's club sized packages of chicken breasts I need to break down. I'll do something with that.
Maybe the pineapple teriyaki chicken. That can go in the oven while I package the rest and put some in the instant pot for shredded chicken to restock the freezer.
ETA: Teriyaki chicken served with rice and broccoli. I'm going to say $6. Chicken breasts are $1.88/lb. I attempted to cost out rice. I buy a 5 lb bag and cook in the rice cooker. Broccoli was a crown left in the fridge from a plan to do a veggie tray for New Year's Day.
I am happy I came up with an alternative and used up the broccoli. It gets easier when I'm in the routine and have time for grocery shopping.

My DIL would say venison and fish cost a small fortune or $1,000 per pound if you facture in everything needed to shot Bambi's Mother and kill Nemo's friends.

Leftover pizza and an Orange. We’ll say pizza $1, orange 50 cents, 33 cents for the tonic water and the gin was from a bottle that was a birthday gift, so free. And darn it, tacos sound good to me, too. Maybe tomorrow?

I'm waiting on baked local cod and roasted tiny potatoes and Brussels. cod was $5 yesterday at the neighborhood fish market, sprouts were about 50 cents, and what is left of the bag of tiny potatoes is getting pitched tonight because they are starting to sprout.

My meatloaf, potatoes, and carrots are done. It smells good. I made a recipe out of the weight watchers cookbook, I sure like a lot of the ones I'm seeing in there. I'm not so sure about the Mediterranean, can't relate to a lot of that stuff. Hubs won't eat lamb, squid, octopus, me either actually, well, lamb yes. He also doesn't like clams. Fish soups, no, doesn't sound good to me either. But some I will try.

Countrygirl, you said your husband doesn't like fish. Would he eat salmon baked in a ginger, garlic, soy sauce and maple syrup marinade? I know a few women whose husbands hate fish, but they like that.

Just potatoes are so easy to grow it's hard to resist especially Yukon Golds and New "red" potatoes. I just have a things about sticking stuff in dirt and wait and see or hope for the best. I've actually gotten a whole big two avocadoes from a pit I stuck in dirt but it bit the dust during one of our rare sustained cold spells and lazy person that I am I didn't try to cover it. I am of the "if it can't make it thru cold" well to bad. Should I say I'm a tad lazy about stuff like that ??

I haven't even looked to see if it's still growing anything. She died about 2 years ago now, so I'm sure I'm out of luck.

Tonight is supposed to be chicken stir fry but I'm not sure the chicken breasts were taken out of the freezer. How long would it take precooked shrimp to thaw?

I used a food processor, then coated the chicken tenders. I used two different recipes since I don't care for chicken thighs.

We're having leftovers tonight. I got an enormous bag of tilapia fillets at Sam's, so I may cook some tomorrow.

I used to work with a guy that did that. It was such a foreign concept to me. I guess it's a thing. He did low carb too.

Yeah, they actually make for a tasty, crispy coating on many things. I also use them as a binder in lieu of breadcrumbs. Last time I hard core low carbed (20 or below daily) I lost 30+ lbs in 10 months. I read in a different thread you've recently lost weight. Excellent job!

Thanks. It took me about 7 or 8 months to lose 40 pounds. Now I'm working on building muscle, so I've gained about 10 back in muscle mass. I admire those who can low carb. I am way too weak to stick to that.

I got some pork lo mein from the village market when I went home at lunch. $8, those meals invariably get me two meals, so it's okay. well, not today. I actually tried to mop up the extra sauce, which tasted like liquid sugar. so I did my best to just pick the pork out of the mess and call it good. the rest went in the garbage, so tonight will be something that has leftovers for me to bring to work tomorrow. I'll either make chicken parm out of the last two cutlets I fried Sunday, or make a batch of pasta with mushroom cream sauce that I've been craving since imanangel posted it on FB a few days back. honestly, the cream sauce will be even less sweet than the tomato sauce, that might be the decision maker for me today.

I looked at Weight Watchers, I knew hubs and DD were going to be out of luck, little pasta, well of course.
But I'm making them spaghetti. I will load the sauce with veggies and a bit of ground pork and I do have whole wheat pasta which thankfully, they like. Found a bunch a pound for $.50 each, and bought several boxes of it.
I'm tired, up early, stayed up to late last night and no nap.
