Looked it up. It might be this: bread with a hole in it cooked in a pan then dropping an egg into the hole to cook inside it. ah, that looks like her picture, too. I don't know that term. thanks! I've known about that way to cook an egg since I was a kid but I never knew it had a name.

Iggy aka IG - what's a bullseye? I'm guessing a breakfast pastry of some sort? Looked it up. It might be this: bread with a hole in it cooked in a pan then dropping an egg into the hole to cook inside it. For whatever reason, my family has always called this "Toad in a hole". It is one of my favorite breakfasts to make.

I am not sure what is for dinner tonight. It depends on if my Home Chef arrives in time. If it does, I will be making a meatball dish. If it doesn't, I will be baking some flounder with lemon and dill with a side of steamed broccoli.

Oh wait, I might make a homemade pasta with a mushroom cream sauce. I have mushrooms that I need to use up before they go bad, and who doesn't love fresh pasta?

But will say I have never eaten it regardless of what it is called. Maybe names are regional ? How about egg captured by toast

I've known about that way to cook an egg since I was a kid but I never knew it had a name. I thought it was called an egg in a basket. I just googled it and it is called many different names. Not sure how it got "toad in the hole" though since that name is usually used to describe a dish of sausage in yorkshire pudding (according to Wikipedia and some other sites). It is interesting how a food item is called different things in different areas.

I'm making my Brazilian chicken in coconut milk, with fragrant jasmine rice. DS loves it. SO good! I need that recipe! I'm low carbing it so all of my meals are pretty much meat and veggies with lots of butter. Tonight is pork chops and salad.

We always called it eggs in a frame. It’s not that hard to make-just cut a hole in a slice of bread and put it in a skillet. Break an egg into the hole and eventually flip the whole thing over. Which is where mine always go south, since I always break the yolk.
Tonight’s dinner is homemade Mac and cheese with fresh broccoli baked right in. I’ll probably be able to take it for lunch a couple days next week, too.

Remember I am kitchen challenged When I went looking for the name, I saw a recipe for it and it said to use a cookie cutter to take out the middle of the bread. It also made mention of putting the cut out bread and toasting it in the pan too. So I am guessing those circle items are the cut out bread. And GOD knows you are challenged in the kitchen.

Ok, Tennesseer you are on my list really early in 2019. I've gone from erupting volcanoes to burning down houses. Be afraid, be very afraid!!

My homemade pasta with mushroom cream sauce turned out amazing. I definitely made some inappropriate sounds while eating it.

We had barbequed babyback ribs, pasta salad, and baked beans. Far cry from our low cal dinner of yesterday, waiting on my cookbooks.

Better then what we had, but man it was good. Enough ribs left for DD and I lunch, may steam some broccoli with it. Hubs does not generally eat lunch.

How about egg captured by toast My BFF in Nor Cal calls it Toad in a Hole. And after our conversation about it, she made it for supper tonight. Plated atop fried potato wedges, it looked Homer Simpson drool worthy.
