I have walked on the treadmill 2 days in a row! I didn't walk on the treadmill over the weekend. I went ice skating Saturday night (indoor) and Sunday was so beautiful I worked outside in the yard. I did lift weights on Sunday morning (just my arms). My eating is semi-terrible. This is a struggle I'm working to overcome. 3:00 when I get home is a free for all - I'm starving. I have decided to weigh myself on Friday AM. I'm not expecting a decrease this week, I just don't want to see an increase.

chiver78, I have done the on the fist modification. I can tolerate it for a bit and it is much easier on the wrists for sure. I just can't do that too long either. I'll keep on trying for sure. I think we had a plank discussion at some point too and I also recall the forearm ones being harder. I could be insane though.

I did a 30 minute kickboxing workout with some modifications from YouTube (Lumowell is also a great source of free workouts) and a 13 minute yoga stretch video. Now munching on a Southwestern-style salad with a chipotle black bean burger crumbled in. No brownies yet but the day is still young.

HOW DO PEOPLE AVOID SUGAR I SERIOUSLY DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!Knee Deep in Water Chloe I know you will be very sad to have your DD2 go to college next year, but not having kids at home definitely helps avoid sugar! DS3 makes the best banana bread in the world, and it's impossible and unkind not to have a slice or two when he makes it. financialpeace that's great! Keep up the good work! I do a variation of IF too but I only skip breakfast, and my eating window is longer than yours because people eat dinner much later here (I'm in France). I eat late by US standards but early by French standards. I've lost .5k/1lb. Just 2k/4.4lbs left. It's not much but I was scared to weigh myself so I'm glad I'm on the downward trend again. Tonight there was a theater event (I'm in an amateur theater troupe). I saw a few people I hadn't seen since before the summer, and they were just blown away! That always feels so good. But I have gotten complacent. I have probably lost that last kilo 10 times since mid-Nov when I stopped doing VERY strict keto. I REALLY need to buckle down again to lose those last few pounds. I used to read the reddit keto boards a LOT for motivation (I never posted). Someone once posted, "You'll stick to it when you want the weight loss more than you want (whatever food item)." That was me, for 5 months!!! But now I want the (whatever food item) more. I hope it will be easier once I go back to my regular teaching schedule next week. I've been off or on a reduced schedule since mid-December. (I'm an adjunct at two universities).

I bought 3 loaves of low-carb bread in Brussels when we drove DS3 to his year-long internship there in late Aug. I have one loaf left, I have been "hoarding" it. I just asked DS3 to bring another loaf or two when he comes back in mid-Feb to see my play. This is France, the country of thin people. We have the same supermarket chain, but they don't sell that low-carb bread here. I have ordered two sorts of low-carb bread over the internet and tried the local health food store's low-carb bread. They were all disgusting, plus they rotted in 2 days. At Job 1 I have a 45 min lunch break so it's easier to be able to bring a sandwich at least once a week. I generally buy a salad the other day I'm there. I can't take leftovers because I don't cook anymore. (After 32 years of cooking for my family, I'm on a very extended break LOL.) Job 2 has an amazing teacher cafeteria so I have a (diet) 3-course meal the day I'm there.
But sandwiches are really convenient, at least once a week.

Healthy eating, no bakery snacking and I'm down 2 1/2 pounds. Lots of hours working and running around.
DH went to the gym with me tonight for the first time. I would have stayed a lot longer, but he did a mile and a half on the treadmill. Baby steps. I'll go back tomorrow and do a serious workout, then back with him on Friday for another stroll on the treadmill. Tonight I didn't even break a sweat!

1/6: 1:30 regular planks, :15 each side planks 1/7: 1:33 regular planks, :15 each side planks 1/8: 1:36 regular planks, :20 each side planks 1/9: 1:39 regular planks, :20 each side planks
I really paid attention doing the planks tonight, and in my completely unscientific opinion, forearm planks are harder than straight-arm planks!
debthaven , I don't know if you have these there, and I haven't tried them to see how they taste, but I'm going to look for them the next time I'm at Costco. I do moderate carb now, but I'm so ingrained to feel guilty eating bread or tortilla shells, that I can't really enjoy them.

Those look great flutterby ! Unfortunately I haven't seen anything like that here (I look). There is one Costco but it's about an hour away so I've never been. Just curious, how many carbs do you consider moderate carb?

Moderate=40-60-ish. I'm not in ketosis at that level, but I really just think it keeps me from snacking too much, and that's how I maintain my weight.
I believe Amazon fresh has the wraps too, but I never use that.

I have to wonder if these melt like cheese though. When I warm up tortillas, I put them directly on the gas burner on the stove.

I think they're just really big thin slices of cheese, so yeah, I could see a big melty mess doing that!

Weight is currently exactly the same, which is fine. I feel like my body is changing, which is awesome. I swear the pants I'm wearing aren't as tight in the thighs. Could be my imagination.
I had a local Dems meeting last night and some of us went out for a post-meeting meeting at the local brewpub. I had wine instead of beer - good. I snacked on some fried cheese curds - bad. I'm okay with that; it's not like I ate the whole basket! Tonight will be the big challenge. We're going to the Flyers game (I hope I meet Gritty!) and I want to avoid eating junk. I already decided I won't drink tonight since I drank last night and Wednesdays are typically one of my dry days, but I am going to avoid the temptation of having nachos for dinner.

I ran again at last night's swim team and I'm down 1.5lbs since Monday. To be honest, I don't think that has anything to do with running a grand total of 4 miles but much more to do with reverting to a normal eating pattern, particularly during the day. My tights are still cutting into my tummy, though .

last night I had seconds of dinner and then ate so many brownies... I'm not sure about today. Breakfast was a hard boiled egg with mustard and a slice of whole grain toast with light butter, and my snack was a banana with natural peanut butter. I'm really tired (didn't sleep too well) so not in the mood to do anything exercise-wise. Maybe when I pick up DS from school we'll do a couple of rounds of Just Dance. Right now I just want to rest though.

Shoveling counts as exercise, right? Because I did that this morning instead of my planned YouTube video. I hate snow

Life and responsibilities took over today so I wasn't as healthy as I wanted. Lunch out with DH, but half went immediately into a takeout box. DH had it for dinner. I had two Guinesses. That counts as nutrition doesn't it?

I ate horribly today, but I just did 23 mins of vinyasa yoga and 13 mins of pilates. It won't do a damn thing towards what I ate, but at least I moved.

I really have to focus on my eating to lose weight. I didn't realize the limitations exercise had on calorie burning until I stopped doing cardio this summer due to my sciatica and bulging L4 disc.

How many times are you doing each side plank?
I've made it up to four rotations of my 30sec regular/ 15 sec left/ 15 sec right
One more rotation to add, and then I'll start increasing time.

I don't know what type of yoga that is, but the pilates should be strengthening your core--which I've learned is super important!

I can already sense that I'm going to have a really hard time getting over two minutes with the regular planks, so I think I'm going to end up doing what you are - less time but multiple sets for both the regular and side planks.

So, I thought I was doing good by using Home Chef to cook more dinners at home, but then I noticed that most of the recipes are like 860 calories per serving. That seems like a lot of calories for 1 meal. Is that a lot of calories for 1 meal? I am also frustrated because my daughter asked me to help her lose the weight she gained on the Mirena. Unfortunately, I don't think her weight gain was just from the Mirena. I think she is seriously addicted to food. For example, I made a pasta dish the other night with garlic bread. It was about 867 calories per serving, after eating dinner, she got in her car and went and got boba tea and McDonalds. This happens a lot. Or, she won't want what I made for dinner, so she will go buy a pizza and then proceed to eat almost the entire thing. Her Dr. put in a referral for her to go to a nutritionist because she is way overweight for her size. Her sugar level was pre-diabetic levels. Unfortunately, she has missed a lot of school from us trying to get her birth control fixed, and the nutritionist usually only has morning appointments. I tried to get her to go walking with me at night, but she always tells me she is too tired. I am not sure what else to do to help her.

It wasn't a problem before since she was in sports. Now she's not and she's gaining. She's not way overweight, but she's bigger than she was. She was always a size 6 and is now an 8 and may be pushing a size 10.

Are the dishes filling enough that you can split them between dinner and lunch the next day? My typical day has breakfast around 200 calories, lunch around 300, and dinner around 500 or less. I have a morning and mid-day snack in there as well. Since I'm not running anymore I don't need all the calories. I'm sorry you are also dealing with helping your daughter lose weight and figure out her food issues. Has she always been an overeaters or is it a recent thing? Learning how to cut the calories, get used to it, and stick with it is hard! My Fitness Pal really helps me get a good idea of what I am putting into my body. I started using it in 2012 when I did my big weight loss year and it really helped me figure out portions (and figure out how to keep booze in my life!). I still use it just to keep myself in check.

BTW I tried a Barre3 30 min workout this morning... I'm ready for bed now.
