I have to start adding in some daily exercise. Mostly, I have just focusing on getting my eating back in decent shape. That seems to be going pretty well.....now for exercising.
I will have to charge my fitbit so I can keep track of my steps. I will have to look to see what else I can add without going to a gym.

I've upped my exercise over the last month. Partly because of all the time away from the office I've had and partly because it was time to take it to the next level. However, I'm now ravenous. Like, all the time ravenous. And no matter how I try to delude myself, carrots and hummus aren't cutting it. I'll be fine in another week, but it's so hard to sit in my office all day and not want to eat all the candy/chips/cookies that I've stockpiled. this jumped out at me, given some knowledge my family has picked up as my sister explores her autoimmune disorder and the body's response. I'm not at all saying you have it, or any of them, but what she learned as she cleared out the foods that were toxic for her, was that she wasn't ravenous all the time. since her body was actually getting the nutrients it needed from the good foods she's now eating, she was sated. it's something I've paid closer attention to for myself, too - I find that I'm ravenous for days after a party-ful weekend. between the crap snacks and the drinks, my body is just revolting from the lack of actual nutrients.....and it wants anything I can shove down my pie hole. when I'm eating better, I not only feel better but I don't crave crap, either. something to think about, anyway.

It helps me keep myself in check most of the time.

I worked out again this morning. That makes yesterday and today so far this week. I do feel better when I do it. Making time in the morning is the hardest part. Awesome job! I was never a morning exerciser so I'm impressed by people who can make that a habit. If I could get up any earlier I bet a quick workout would help start my day better; alas, I have enough trouble getting out of bed at 5:45.

chiver78, it's something that I watch closely with my doctors as my mom has an autoimmune disease. And while she refuses to admit it, her diet isn't helping her cope with her symptoms. Between watching for that, and figuring out my migraine triggers, it's a miracle I find something to eat some days. Over the holidays I ate all sorts of crap and now that I'm cutting it out, the cravings are strong and my healthy snacks aren't cutting it. And, all of the extra helpings of pizza or lasagna or cheeseburgers for dinner was a lot of calories. Now that I'm like, "I'll eat salad!" my body is confused. haha. I haven't gotten on the scale in forever, and am avoiding it until my system feels more back to normal.

yup. you are detoxing. after the first few days, it's so much better. I need to do this myself, but I know I'll be doing it again in a month when I get back from my cruise. there is so much salt in everything onboard, I basically live on liquid calories and fruit garnishes after a solid breakfast.

You have to buy special footgear as well. $20. The intro class is free. Except for the $20 footgear. Like hospital socks. I think I’ll cancel the intro class. No need to get pressured into an unreasonable expense. Is there a discount for pre-paying? Like a punchcard for ten classes that is equal to paying for seven individual classes?Nope so I’ve canceled my 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 session and boy howdy have they been emailing and texting me.

You all might get a kick out of this. I had surgery on my foot last spring, and now doing the planks on the tips of my toes hurts. So I wear my cowboy boots because they're hard-toed, and it spreads the pressure across my ankles and tops of my feet instead. So last night I did my planks in my little jammies and cowboy boots. Glad no one sees how ridiculous I look.

I don't think I could do those with my foot issues. I'm hoping to get back to walking more when I get my new foot brace and get back to the fitness center, they built up my orthotics some so that has really helped. Also got weight watchers cookbooks, some very good sounding food in those recipes.
I am able to take the zetia or generic cholesterol med but its only because I am taking my arthritis drug twice a day and my hydrocodone, if I don't my joints and body just kills me. I'm sure I need to take it, not arguing with that, this is the 3rd med I've tried and quit it for a month. This way I can do it.

I baffled and frustrated a few yoga instructors with my PITA wrists. not sure if this will help either of you, but it works for me with occasional tweaks depending on what I'm trying to do. for things like pushups that require resistance against the wrist, I will make a fist and put the weight on my knuckles and keep a straight wrist. for things that require a bent wrist, I look at why that's the case, and how I might work around it. if I can't work around it, there's usually ways to support that wrist either with the other hand or with braces. more often than not, using a straight wrist on a fist worked just fine. good luck!

There are definitely modifications in yoga for people with wrist issues, and there are enough poses to put together countless hands-free practices. Your yoga instructors were lazy.

I finally found Pilates workouts I like (Boho Beautiful on YouTube) so I did a 16 min session of that and 20 mins of vinyasa yoga. Food wasn’t too terrible, but then I made a batch of brownies and that was that. the chest pain/discomfort issues and palpitations I’ve been having have forced me to pay better attention to how my foood affects these things. I had no chocolate and no palpitations yesterday, but I started having them today after the 1st brownie. So I guess I need to limit my chocolate intake (something I needed to do already) and probably caffeine in general.

I managed a minute on straight arms with my hands fisted then did the rest on my forearms. Now I can do a mix of both, since I'm not sure which one is supposed to be better either.

I probably remember 50% of the time, but it keeps it from dying all the way.

I do planks barefoot 99% of the time. At PT, I do them with my running shoes on because they're just already on.

I thought forearm planks were supposed to be more challenging. There are lots of ways to do planks and push-ups that target different muscles. Some of the push-ups make me cry--like the diamond ones.

So, my family is killing me slowly with their junk food. Yesterday, DD#2 made MORE COOKIE DOUGH at least the second time in a week and probably the fourth time in 30 days. Then tonight, DH got out a frozen pie from one of the fundraisers those savvy kids hit us up for. Pumpkin cream pie.
HOW DO PEOPLE AVOID SUGAR I SERIOUSLY DON'T UNDERSTAND!!!
chiver78, on a total random side note, do you want to delete that thread that's pinned at the top of this page that is over two years old and is for a survey that some random person wanted us to take? It catches my eye every once in a while, and I wanted it de-cluttered. Wait, does that mean I should post this in the de-clutter thread?
