andi9899 if I didn't have the play this year, I probably would have signed up for an evening class. But the play is super time-consuming (two 2-2.5h rehearsals/week, 20 min drive each way, plus learning lines). I did a play every year for 4 years, then took two years off. This year I have a HUGE role, and I've been working VERY hard to learn my lines (and still not there yet).
If I don't do a play next year, I plan to sign up for a local Zumba class. In the meantime I'd be happy to do a YT Zumba workout twice a week (when DH is out of the house LOL). He is ALWAYS out on Sat mornings (his band rehearses then). So I should probably aim to start with that.

The Pilates class isn’t barefoot here and the socks are required. I’m going to cancel it.

Up to you zibazinski . I think that's a shame. I'd just play dumb about the socks.

They made it Very clear. It’s a way to get $ for your free intro class.

We have free Zumba and Yoga classes outdoors in the summer. By the water, at sunset. I go to those on occasion. Not happening in winter.

zibazinski if doing Pilates is important to you, I think you can afford it. My apologies if I'm mistaken. Otherwise, have you looked elsewhere? They can't be the only place to offer Pilates, although they MAY be the only place to require expensive socks for your free trial. When I looked for Zumba classes I found at least 3 in a 5-mile radius, and I'm in a suburb of Paris. As I said, up to you.

I’ll look into it. This is located in S Tampa so it’s assumed everyone is rich and spoiled.

Look for community classes through the local school district. That's what I did up here for Zumba and yogalates. Much cheaper.

zibazinski Sometimes it's cheaper to join a gym that offers a class. There won't be as many classes though, and sometimes hard to fit your schedule. I'm not sure about pilates, but I took a yoga class at a gym once, and it wasn't as good as the yoga studio.

Very true but $25 a class is ridiculous

I got off to a slow start this week and didn't meet my overall goal of three workouts/weights. I did do upper body weights twice and the step thing twice. The step wasn't as awful as I feared, but I only did 20 minutes at a time. The 6" height didn't make me sore the next day, so I've raised it to 8". I also did planks for 1:30, and thanks to Knee Deep in Water Chloe, 15 seconds of planks on each side. Those are a LOT harder than regular planks!
This week:
3x upper body weights 3x step for at least 20 minutes each (I'll increase the time once I get consistent) 7x planks, adding 3 seconds each day, so I should be at 1:51 on Sunday

The Pilates class isn’t barefoot here and the socks are required. I’m going to cancel it. You can get grippy yoga socks for cheap on Amazon or at Target. Some studios don't allow barefoot, but you can get reasonable socks.

I didn't eat that great this weekend so I'm afraid to weigh in this morning. It's my DH's birthday today, so we had a date day on Saturday, and boy did I make the most of it!

Today is my first day back at work after two weeks of sloth and gluttony . I stepped on the scale this morning and have 17.2lbs to lose... ouch! My eating habits are much better at work because I pack breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Tonight my 10 year old daughter starts a new swim team twice a week so when she's in the pool I'm going to run around the campus for 30 minutes.

I gained back most of that half pound I had lost. Will try to be better this week. I have been doing okay with the exercise. I eat better at work because it's more structure. I need to be better at home.

Today is my first gym day of the week! It's also going to be my first day of focusing on certain muscle groups per day. I'm going to do 2 days of arms, 2 core days, and 1 leg day for a total of 5 gym days instead of 4. I'm hoping to see better results soon.

Regarding planks: My PT home routine is 30 seconds--regular plank 15 seconds--right side 15 seconds--left side
Today is a yoga/strength day so I'm going to try Chloe's routine.

I was kind of bad last night and have been paying for it physically ever since. I got very little sleep, and my insides are very, VERY upset at me over one drink and one appetizer! I was hoping to get in a short yoga session and a 2 mile walk today, but it's already close to 12 and I'm still trying to psych myself up for getting off the couch.

At swim team with my daughter. There’s a small elevated running track that I used to run 2 miles. It took me 24 minutes and I’m now the color of a freshly boiled lobster 🦞 !

I had a massive headache when I got out of work today, so I laid down for a nap....that turned into an hour and a half. because of that, physically, I was mostly sedentary today which sucks. but I made sure to include some baby spinach in my sandwich and to pair a salad for dinner tonight. baby steps.

I was hit or miss last week, but overall activity was up and weight was slightly down over the prior week, so I’m counting that as progress. I managed to mostly stick to my meal plan and avoided the mindless snacking that is my weakness. Not counting calories yet and my portions probably need to be better controlled, but I’m overall satisfied with last week.

You have to buy special footgear as well. $20. The intro class is free. Except for the $20 footgear. Like hospital socks. I think I’ll cancel the intro class. No need to get pressured into an unreasonable expense. Is there a discount for pre-paying? Like a punchcard for ten classes that is equal to paying for seven individual classes?

I worked out again this morning. That makes yesterday and today so far this week. I do feel better when I do it. Making time in the morning is the hardest part.

I've upped my exercise over the last month. Partly because of all the time away from the office I've had and partly because it was time to take it to the next level. However, I'm now ravenous. Like, all the time ravenous. And no matter how I try to delude myself, carrots and hummus aren't cutting it. I'll be fine in another week, but it's so hard to sit in my office all day and not want to eat all the candy/chips/cookies that I've stockpiled.
