I try to take a couple walks during the day, even if it's just a lap of the floor. as it gets warmer, I'll be taking walks at lunch with another of the early birds. (need to remember to leave a pair of sneakers here....) I need to figure out how to operate the adjustable height desk. that will help a ton. yesterday, I ate lunch standing at one of the pub tables in the cafe on my floor. I miss that option from the place I was working 2nd shift.
and my drive in this morning, ugh..... I'd probably still be sitting on the highway if I hadn't bailed for surface roads when I did. normal am drive is 60-65min. today was 1h45. I will definitely be taking a walk at lunch in my flat boots, leaving at 2 to avoid the worst traffic this afternoon, and taking a long walk with the pups when I get home.

There should be a clip inside where the holes are to put your hands in to lift it up. Squeeze the clips and lift at the same time.

I decided on eggs this morning for breakfast instead of my usual oatmeal. I ended up with biscuits and gravy also. Damn me!

no, there's a few buttons and a bunch of wires attached to things on different parts of the workstation that aren't all on the adjustable section. with my luck, I'll pull the whole thing apart just trying to lift it a bit. I actually just talked to one of the early birds who was walking the long way around to his desk. he was like "good for you for taking advantage of this space. it's really loud today. I usually grab a <unreservable small closed room> room on the side over here when I need to hear myself think." so, until/unless someone gives me grief about it, I'll probably just camp out in here. I can play music quietly without headphones, I can stand in a sunlight bath, and I don't feel like my screen is out there for everyone to see (which it would be if I raised the desk, not that I have anything to hide).

Damn me! after probably the worst drive in so far, I went to the caf to grab an iced latte. someone was toasting a poppy seed bagel while I waited, and it smelled awesome, so I grabbed one of those, too. good thing I brought a healthy lunch and am planning to have salad at home tonight. yikes. so far today, I've had a cup of coffee on my drive, an iced latte - 2% milk and nutmeg, a poppy seed bagel w/chive 'n onion cream cheese, and 3 cups of herbal tea. no wonder I've spent half the am in the bathroom.

My standing desk just has an put-down button so I can't help you there!
Hip exercises are extremely helpful for tight and sore muscles of the upper leg/thigh/hip area. Issues with hip muscles will produce tightness and soreness in the upper leg region. I would google exercises/stretches for things like IT band, piriformis syndrome, tight thighs, hip exercises, etc. for some stretches. Those pretty much go hand in hand and you will find some good exercises. Some of my favorites are a figure four (love this one, actually), which can be done standing, seated, or on your back, and pigeon pose. Also, good old-fashioned lunges and squats!

I went downstairs to get some chili for lunch and ended up with pasta. I'm such a fat ass.

Hi, just checking in. I have been exercising fairly regularly - 3 or 4 times a week, sometimes more. I have been working on my eating, some days are better than others. I'm down about 12.5 pounds for the year so far.

Hell, I'm having a bit of a pain week and I'm modifying all my workouts.

By default I'm being good this afternoon. I was expecting cookies during the afternoon training break. I was disappointed.

This is a picture of me and my current eating behavior. I'm now up two pounds from where I was at the beginning of the year.

Don't know if this is the place for this or not. My skin is so dry. Does anyone have a good body oil or lotion? Preferably something that smells like citrus.

Preferably something that smells like citrus. it's health related, I'd say. personally, I do way better when I stick to a single brand of lotion. I can vary within the brand, but I need to keep it to the same base of inactives. that said, my favorite lotion is by Nivea, it's the "Skin Firming Hydration". it's a thick, non-greasy cream lotion. I have a huge pump of it on my desk at work and another on my bathroom vanity. I've got a few other Nivea products in travel sizes in my purse and various overnight bags. none smell like citrus, though.

Maybe I'll look at that this weekend. It's ok if it's not citrus smelling, just so long as it's not lavender, I can handle it.

nope, not lavender. I'm not a fan of that, either. can't really put a scent to it, but it's different than basic Nivea in the blue bottle/jar. it's also not as sweet as the cherry almond that is basically everything Jergens, too. HTH

I love Curel. It’s also super thick, but a day or two turns my lizard-like hands super soft.
If only I could remember to use it before the itching and cracking remind me. Also not citrus, though.

Not citrus but I love Neutrogena's light sesame oil formula body oil. I put it on whenever I remember after showering. Burt's Bees has a lemon body oil. Ooh, I have this C. Booth orange ginger body scrub I got at Ulta a while back. I bet this would be nice. www.ulta.com/4-in-1-lemon-sugar-body-lotion?productId=xlsImpprod4360147

Maybe I'll just order both. If they don't work, I wouldn't be out a ton of money.

Is the Neutrogena one actually unscented like the website says? I don't want to walk around smelling like sesame seeds or something. I may get hungry and I eat enough as it is.

I don't recall. I have the lightly scented one and it really isn't overwhelming to me. I would hope the fragrance-free doesn't smell like food!
