I downloaded the Nike training app yesterday. I haven't had time to play with it too much, but I like it so far. You can browse workouts by fitness level, muscle group, time, no equipment, etc. I don't have spin tonight, so I'll actually have time to get through a whole workout, so I'll let you know what I think.

thanks. trying to hang on til noon and then I'll just go. it's too late to cancel the dog walker for the day, she was already surprised by the roommate being home yesterday. I guess he was napping on the couch when she keyed in. if this is what he has, I'm in for a couple days of misery.

So I just messed up my diet, majorly. DH and I went to Normandy for 3 days. We stayed in a hotel (so no eating in, TINY room). I swear, I tried to be good (except for eating ONE pastry). But I definitely ate much more than I'm used to eating. We did A LOT of walking! So hopefully the damage won't be as bad as I fear. I'm NOT weighing myself for at least several days.
We have a dinner out with friends tomorrow night. After than I'm going back on VERY strict keto!!!

I weighed myself today ... I did not gain! Still at 61.2 kilos (134.5 lbs). So I've managed to stay between 61 and 62 kilos for 2.5 months now.
Now going back on strict keto to lose those last few pounds. I'm honestly not sure I can manage to be that strict anymore.

I'm grading in unarmed this Friday. I feel silly being so proud of it, but I really am. Dh hasn't been coming to class much which I'm hoping changes. I really want to practice at home more. Yesterday had 2 good work out classes. Lots of good basic things to practice at home to get better and stronger. I'm tempted to suggest they start a paid you tube channel, but the last thing I need is another monthly subscription and I'd have to sign up if it was there. I didn't get on a scale for a few weeks, and maintaining turned gaining. so back at it.

okay, have a weird one for y'all. I've been hovering around 205 the last week or so. weighed myself this am when I first got up to pee and was 200.6. confused, I stepped off the scale and tried again, also 200.6. maybe 15 minutes later, I had actual clothes on (long sleeve t-shirt and yoga pants) and had had maybe 3 sips of coffee, and I tried again bc I was still confused why it was so low. 205.2. I mean. I wouldn't object to the 200.6 being actual, it just didn't feel right. my scale is not even a year old, really?

I always weigh myself first thing in the morning before I get dressed or eat. I swear when I put clothes on, even lightweight pajama type clothes it adds 5 pounds. And, I’d say it’s pretty accurate, as I weighed mys of a few weeks ago at home and then went to my 8am doc appointment. Fully clothed I was 6 pounds heavier at the doc. Yes, I know, different scales and all.

Did you move the scale? I had the same scale tell me that I'm 147 which I know is a damn lie while it was on carpet. I moved it to the tile floor and I was 170 which sounds a lot more like it.

You should always keep the scale in the same spot, on the same type of floor. And you should always weigh yourself in exactly the same conditions (ie dressed, in underwear, or nekkid, which is how I weight myself).
Our bathroom is tiny. The weekly cleaner always moves the scale when she cleans. I can't complain about that! So I put down two tiny drops of red nail polish (on the white tiles). That way I know the scale is always in EXACTLY the same position before I weigh myself. The scale stays out all week, but I always have to reposition it after the cleaner comes.

When I'd first come back home from my surgery about a month ago, according to my bathroom scale, my weight dropped four pounds. I was pretty excited. It's back up now to where it was pre-surgery. I don't know what the cause was--scale malfunction, effects of surgery, I actually behaved myself in my eating and returned to bad habits

My weight is up a little. I was down to 183 last week then had my period and was up to 187. The last day of my period I was a pound lighter at night than I was that morning. So I fully expected to be down near 183 again, but I am still at 186. I don't know why this bothers me. But I haven't worked out in a while so today I hit the gym. I made a deal with myself that I didn't have to do cardio yet if I'd just get back in the habit of going to the gym. My strength training is improving.

Today is gym day #1! I was supposed to go yesterday, but it snowed so I lost motivation really fast. Oh well. I'll get it done today.

Thank goodness today is a rest day. We got at least 5 inches of snow overnight, and I spent almost 20 minutes cleaning off my car and scraping the ice. It is still snowing, so I imagine after work will be the same. I feel like I got a good arm workout in with how heavy the snow was!
Hope everyone has a great week!

GAH! I have been working my booty off, getting my steps and cardio minutes in, adding in weights and sit ups/push ups. And I am gaining weight! I am back up to 135 where I started, after having been down to 132. I was tracking all my food in Fitbit and staying within my calorie ranges (min 1600/day, max was about 1900, burning around 2300). I feel like Ive lost some inches but my comparison pics aren't too assuring. Its just so frustrating. My sleep has gotten a lot worse lately with everyone being sick, so I wonder if that has a lot to do with it.

So Day 1 of new strict keto, and I've already cheated. I did strict keto for 7 months and cheated 7 times!!! (I allowed myseld one cheat/month.) I teach two professors. I had a lunch class with one. He wanted takeout Chinese. I got a portion of hot and sour soup (very low carb) and 6 pieces of dim sum (not very low carb but I figured still lower carb than rice or noodles). So I'm visibly off to a great start.

Instead of giving up something for Lent, the last few years I've added exercise challenges. (The ones I bate). Last year was push ups, this year I'm doing knee bends for 40 days. Three sets of 20.

Reflection for Monday, Feb 25 - Sunday, March 3
Steps: 9,000 per day; at least 65,000 for the week 5 of 7 days were over 9,000 steps 74,911 steps for the week
Calorie intake: 1,700 per day; no more than 12,500 for the week Um, ridiculous failure again. I don't know why I have such portion control issues. I had two days under 2,000 calories. I didn't even want to weigh myself this morning, so I didn't.
Yoga (with accommodations for my arm): 60 minutes for the week Only 35 minutes
Water: 50 oz per day above 50 oz on 4 of 7 days

Damn, haven't been able to workout since last weekend. Just too damn busy. Was in Florida Saturday through yesterday and I ate decently (i.e., salmon over salad for dinner one night, over easy eggs and toast for breakfast, tabuli salad with shrimp for lunch, those kinds of meals) didn't snack but I did have drinks daily. I did an okay amount of walking. But I remain status quo, weight-wise. If I have a boozy weekend my Monday morning weight is usually 154 and it was that this morning, so once I exercise tonight and get that started again I'll feel good!
