I would disagree the actual amount of debt added was 8.58 trillion. The ssa took in a surplus and he used that money to make it look better. No one wants to talk about the useager of ss funds. you are confusing debt with deficit. when funds are borrowed from SSA they add to the DEBT but not to the DEFICIT (if there is a surplus in SSA). therefore it has nothing to do with our discussion, which as i clearly stated is one regarding the DEBT. I will still stand by my numbers. The total deficit was about 6.8t. The overall debt was about 8.5t |

I hear it a lot from people who have never BEEN outside the US (except, maybe, Canada or Mexico) DJ is right I haven't lived outside of the US. I have travelled and seen enough to know we have it better here. Then again if you like living where there are huge taxes to support socialist programs by all means live in those areas. So why are there 16 countries ahead of you in terms of quality of life? |

Did I say it was a low quality of life? I did not. I'm saying that 16 countries were ranked as better. I'm countering ednkris's claim that it's "the best country in the world". I still want to know which metric he's using. He never answered. People are trying to pour into those countries as well, but it's a little little more difficult. Kind of hard for South Americans to swim across the Rio Grande and end up in Finland. |

This. A few months ago, trump and his trumpets were crowing about the bull market (which began under Obama). The economy has been steadily growing since Obama pulled us back from the brink, but trump’s ignorant base pretends this know-nothing has actually accomplished something positive. Obama did squat for businesses. The biggest failure of all time obamacare, that penalize you if you don't buy it. The first time in our history that forces you to buy healthcare. Huge huge (Trump fashion) numbers on weflare and the left thinks that is a good accomplishment. It should be how many can we get off welfare, with jobs that's right that happened under Trump. Wasn't it obama that said 2% GDP is the new normal? The slowest recovery in decades because of his administration ineffectiveness. Lest not forget every one complaining about the money Trump is spending obama inheitated a mess yes I said it, but he had 8 years to improve the debt instead he doubled it.. please as far as I'm concerned give Trump 500 billion for a wall if that's what he wants he will never put more debt on than Obama did in 8 years. I live in south carolina all I see around is infrastructure building, manufacturing adding additions, new manufacturing none of this happened under Obama. As far as other countries and what they think of us. All they want is our financial and military support. They saw the USA as weak especially with Obama apology tour.
