Thanks. I will be okay... I can't go back to that place. It's too hard to live there. My heart goes out to everyone currently living in that place. GROUP HUG♡

I took 1/2 xanax earlier today. Usually that gets me over whatever is bothering me at the moment. Not today. I almost said things I would absolutely regret. I'm going to take a full one now and apply EmSam patches. I really hope it does the trick. The thought of going down that dark road again is just too much. I understand. I really hope you get the relief you need.

Can I have some of your Xanax? This life, and year, officially sucks ass and can be over now. I'll let it. I had to put my cat down tonight and I am really not in a good place right now. Whoever said God only gives you what you can handle, needs to stand in front of me so I can beat them. I hate my life.

You've been through 2 of the worst things that can happen to anyone this year. Don't worry about anything right now. Just be good to yourself. What's a favorite treat to binge on? Any particular places you can pick up some favorite food at?

You've had too much for anyone thrown at you, empress of self-improvement. I admire your toughness and wish it were different. Virtual Xanax to you, and peace. I wish I could do more.

Hugs and prayers for you Empress. What a crappy year you've had. If I could take some of your load, I certainly would.

There is another place in the bible where God tells us " I know the plans I have for you". I decided quite awhile ago that his plans suck! Hang in there Empress.....after 5 years of being a widow and alone, little by little it does get better.

I just can't. I'm going to have a big drink and damn the potential effects with my medications. I have covid. I had to be tested yesterday for my surgery on Monday. My test is positive. I won't be having my surgery on Monday. It will be rescheduled to at least two weeks out. I was doing so well with the damage to our rental and not freaking out over the money we're spending, calls to the insurance, bothering the tenants to take pictures because they won't come to the house due to covid, trying to enforce precautions with all the repair/service people, yada, yada, yada. This just put me over the edge. At least I'm asymptomatic. I hope DH doesn't pick it up from me or that he's asymptomatic as well.

I am sorry buystoys. I hope you stay asymptomatic and your DH does not catch it.

Aw carp! So sorry, buystoys. I suppose it's better to know now, than to find out after surgery. Hoping you don't feel tired, or any other symptoms of the virus. Just catch up on your rest for now, and as the saying goes, let tomorrow take care of itself.

I am so sorry buystoys I had to be tested before my medical procedure. Better to know before surgery. I do hope you remain asymptomatic. My sister didn't have symptoms other than being very, very tired and a bit of a sore throat. She was told to assume her husband has it. I don't know if he will be tested, but I hope if he does have it, he will be asymptomatic.

Thank you all for the warm wishes. I feel a bit better about it today. I will get the surgery, just a couple of weeks later. And we were running so much with all the doctor appointments, testing, etc. that it was really wearing us down. I'll work on rescheduling everything tomorrow. We'll have a couple of quiet weeks this way. I'm trying to see the positive here.

Here's to a symptom-free recovery, buystoys. It stinks that you have COVID but as you point out, there is an upside. Resting before surgery is a good thing. Wishing you well in the days to come. Please let us know how you're doing.

Between worrying about covid and RBG dying, my depression has ramped up.
I am taking my meds and did go for a drive to town to pick up groceries, a prescription and a drive through chai.
I'm hoping the sun shining will help.

I'm with you on mourning RBG. Women have so few heroes. She is one of my favorites. Her death is shocking and so sad.
We were eating out--the third time since COVID--when my DH gasped, looked up from his phone and told me she'd died. I teared up. It's so hard.

Her death should not seem sudden. She was 87 and we knew she had cancer. But it feels sudden. I know she was trying to hang on for a new president.
I burst in to tears, too. I think there were a lot of tears shed that night.

I was just surfing the web, looking up people I've known over the years, and came across an obituary of a really nice man I worked with in the early-mid 90's. His youngest daughter (of 4) was born during that time as was my DS. His oldest daughter babysat my two children for a week one summer.
Steve died 4 years ago, at 64, of cancer. Bit of a shock. It seems too late to send a card to his widow.
As I said, he was a very nice man. Once we were having a retreat (this was a corporate office of about 25 people) dealing with managing change. Each of us said something about change they were confronting. Steve said on his turn, with a frown, "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" I still laugh thinking of it.
2020 is a no good, very bad, year.

I got some bad news today. Which is just another example of how my life is going lately. My therapist is closing her office and she has no one she can refer me to. I'm numb right now. I know I need to get to work on finding someone else and I also know that that will not be too easy. It was difficult to find her. I understand why she can't do it any more, but I'm going to miss her.

I'm sorry buystoys It is hard to find the right fit for a therapist. I do hope you find someone you can work with soon. I was lucky when I moved here. I got the luck of the draw at the medical clinic covered by my insurance. I told them I preferred a woman. The woman I got is still my therapist and she and I work well together. She is probably in her early 30's. I panicked for a moment when she told me she was pregnant. She came back to work after her maternity leave. Since then, she has said that she isn't planning any more children. The last time I lived in Boulder, I drifted from therapist to therapist and never found one I clicked with.
