Weekly check in
Missed step goal by 4518. Friday was not a good day. Eating out of control. First day of year that I did not hit 10,000 steps. Weight is about the same.
This week is going to be a stress full week. This weeks step goal will remain at 75000. Try to curb stress eating and drink water.

I definitely binge ate the cookie bars I made Saturday night. Yesterday I portioned some out for my friend I went to the spa with yesterday and DS, but I ate the rest last night. I'm determined to do better today, but my stomach is bothering me. I'd usually get something bread-y to help counteract the upset stomach feeling but that'll plunge me back into overdoing calories/sugar. How do you combat an upset stomach while also keeping calories/carbs down?

Let me know what you think when you get them! Especially the first one! I've always wanted to try it and we sell them at the PT job.

With the first item, there's a 21 day challenge, 30 minutes a day for 21 days, that will be my start then I'll switch it up for myself.

Down 3lbs, and I've hit my steps goal every day. That's really the only goal I've set for myself right now. Maybe once it warms up and we can get the kiddos out more then we will add evening walks back into our routine.

For me, greek yogurt settles my stomach pretty quickly. Or bone broth. I always keep bone broth around in the freezer. Its light, packed full of nutrients and light on the stomach too.

Between that and my gym schedule, I'll be getting 15-17K steps per day again and can lose this weight I've gained. I hate the winter/holidays!

It is much easier to go for extra walks and get moving when it's not freezing out. My step count has been down the last few days. It's not too bad today considering I'm working at home.

You could possibly get the mat at Bed, Bath & Beyond, it's a thin mat size 25.5"L x 18.0"W x 0.118"H and yes some people on BBB said thin Yoga Mats would work. I checked Bed Bath and Beyond USA does carry this line including the mat, it's sold out online, but maybe BBB stores would have it. www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/simply-fit-board-reg-workout-mat/1060496133?poc=3301734

So, this past week was roughly the same on the vitamins and I did worse on my 15 minutes a day goal. 3 out of 7 days. I finally looked back at the weight I probably started at and I am more or less still in the same spot. I have Chloe's food issues. It's for everything except fuel to keep me from dying.

Day 1 of low-carb: 19g so far. I wanted to keep it under 30g/day, so that leaves me room for two whole bite sized mini Heath bars still tonight. Total will come to 28g for the day.

Day 1 at the gym. I did weights/floor exercises, then spin, then zumba. I made it! Barely, but I made it!

I really wanted to hit my step goal yesterday, so even though I got home late from work, I made DH take a walk with me, so I could get 10k steps in. He thought I was nuts, but went along anyway. HA! Food wise, yesterday was awful. I blame my work event for that, but really, I didn't need to eat 10 mini meatballs. Man, they were delicious though!

Day 2: 29g carbs. Haven't had the awful carb-withdrawal side effects like last time, but I did feel really light-headed this morning. That seems to have passed, so I got off lucky this time.

Day 3: 27g of carbs. -1 pound overall.
Today was a bit of a struggle. Breakfast and lunch are easy, but I need to plan dinners better.

I started up again with my back to running plan on Sunday, did 2m run/3m walk. I dis fine, but didn't feel great for a couple of days after, which is totally my fault. I've been inconsistent with just walking so obviously adding running intervals was going to be a bad idea. I told hubs I will walk consistently for a month before I start my running program again. I'm coming up on the one year anniversary of my surgery (February 8) and I don't want to set myself back even more! I am planning on going to run club tonight and walking, and hopefully I will get up Saturday morning and walk too. I have been doing some of my hip exercises at home.
Scale said 153.8 this morning. It ranges between 152.8 and 154.4, so at least I'm remaining consistent!

I came home from the gym yesterday and ate a whopper. I don't think that's how it's supposed to work, but I was starving!

Anyone here ever hear about the Dukan Diet? It seems hard to keep up, possibly unhealthy, unappealing, but oddly attractive. Probably because it promises such fast weight loss. I probably shouldn't lose too fast anyway. I'm old, and I'd probably get saggy.

If something promises super fast weight loss, it's probably something you don't want to do.

If something promises super fast weight loss, it's probably something you don't want to do. Eh, it's kinda like Atkins or Paleo, or maybe even Keto. Focuses on meat, which I don't like in the first place. That's the bad part, I think.

I've heard of it, and looked into it a few years ago. I think it was pretty similar to a paleo type diet, but I didn't do a ton of research.
I picked Tim Ferriss' "slow carb" diet as my fad diet of choice the last time I went that route and it worked well for me. I haven't wanted to do it again though.

Day 4: 25g of carbs. Down 2.5 lbs overall. The real challenge is going to come over the weekend. It's so much harder to stay on track when I have access to junk all day long.

YOu can do it, flutterby. You've made it through the most difficult withdrawal period.

I have new jeans coming today size 10 My Levi's 12 have been a little loose for a while, but I hate muffin tops so I am always slow to go down a size. Really the only reason I replaced these is that they are wearing thin in the inner thighs, and I wear them to work so can't afford to wake up and not be able to wear them because there is a hole.

Thanks finnime! It's definitely easier knowing I'm only doing this very short term.
