Well, gym week is over. I'm a little beat up, but otherwise ok. I'm now down 7 pounds since new year's and on my way! Floor exercises have gotten easier. I've kicked up my resistance on the machines and I'll just coast along on that until it's time to do it again.

Well, I thought I was on track to get somewhat close to my outrageous step goal for the month. Then my plans blew up and I have to go spend next week taking care of my parents. They both have to have surgery within a week of each other and will need some help around the house/getting around next week. So looks like the next 7 days will be a bust. Hopefully I'll have a little time to at least take a walk each day.
My mom texted me from the store yesterday. She couldn't decide what kind of wine I might want, so she bought 5 bottles. 5! They don't drink wine, so apparently she thinks this is going to be a stressful week for me. HA!

All this time I hadn't weighed myself. A friend and I went to a spa on Sunday (OMG, I wish I could live there!!!) and there was a scale in the women's locker room. I thought "what the hell" and got on. I won't say the weight, but it was several pounds lower than I expected. Or it was broken. The jeans I bought at Christmas are slightly loose, but other than that I don't feel "thinner".

So I got weighed yesterday at the hospital, I'm starting at about 58.3kg / 128.53 lbs. I want to get healthier not necessarily lose weight. I have to get moving and choose better foods.

Because of your posts this week, a few days ago I looked at myfitnesspal to see how many carbs I typically consume in a day. Assuming I'm reading the chart correctly, I consume ~200g of carbs/day. So, yeah, that could be a thing regarding my emotional eating. I'll have to see if I can curb that a bit. It's such a mental conflict for me to tell myself "no carbs".

So, yeah, that could be a thing regarding my emotional eating. I'll have to see if I can curb that a bit. It's such a mental conflict for me to tell myself "no carbs". When I first tried this last year, I was probably eating more than 200g of carbs a day. I usually had two Mt. Dews, and that's at least 90g right there. So the "keto flu" carb withdrawal was awful! I never went back to full carbs even after stopping the super low carb, maybe 50-75g a day was my new normal, so the withdrawal was minimal this time. And eating bacon every day hasn't exactly been a hardship! I'm getting tired of meat and cheese though, so I'll give it a few more days and call it good.
Weekly check in: Made it to the gym twice 78,000 steps Lost almost four pounds
Have a great week everyone!

Doesn't the weight just come back the moment you have a huge carb binge? Well, huge carb binge is relative After doing under 30g a day, getting to have 50g will seem huge lol. But no, I don't think so. I'll go back up to my normal 50-75g a day, and that's just maintenance. Any more than that, then yes, the weight would probably come back, or I'd have to start watching fat, calories, etc. to keep things in check.

Down 5.4 pounds so far this month. That’s just with tracking my calories, still really sporadic on the exercise. I’m at the point of winter where all I do is force myself to go to work, then come home and plant myself on the couch until it’s time to go to bed. I have been making myself make some progress on some home projects in lieu of exercise, but it’s not the same as working out.
I’ve been taking my vitamins all along and have been using the SAD light, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. I never see the sun at my house this time of year. I did take a drive today and found a sunbeam. I sat in my car in the sun for about an hour just basking in the light. Didn’t get out as it’s freaking cold outside, but it was nice to feel an actual sunbeam for once.

Weekly check in
Hit step goal by 2300. Weight up since last week however still down 1 pound since January 2.
Step goal is still 75000. Need to work on food choices, water intake and cutting down on adult beverages.
Keep up the good work everyone and have a great week.

So this week I'm going to try to start eating better. I have oatmeal for breakfast. I brought chicken enchiladas for lunch with rice. I have some chicken thawed out for dinner that I don't know what I'm going to do with yet. They are making a chef salad today in the cafeteria that I think I'm going to get to eat tomorrow as I don't like tomorrow's salad. I don't usually eat creamy dressings anyway, but I'm thinking about looking for recipes to make my own.

the carbs musings: I’ve had 63g carbs for breakfast today. That includes the hot chocolate mix I put in my coffee. I’m going to just make sure I’m staying under the 200g/day goal that MyFitnessPal already had—is that its default?
I may have to talk to DH about breakfast as he is the one who makes that meal. Today’s included challah French toast with lemon curd. 😔

this weekend was just God-awful for eating. I did plenty of exercise but it likely didn't even make a difference. Pizza every day and also ice cream. The good thing is that the ice cream is gone now. Today I had plain Greek yogurt with bananas, strawberries, and honey with whole wheat toast. Just finished my coffee (with a sweet-n-low plus 3 creamers). I packed a pb and banana sandwich, cuties, and cheez-its. I realize it's not the healthiest lunch but since I had to take the train I needed to pack something that didn't need constant refrigeration.

They make fruit fusion water in the cafe every day. Today is maraschino cherry and lime. I'm in love.

When I 'low carb' it I stay below 50 g after deducting fiber. It has worked well for me. Surprising how much you can eat in actuality if you go for high-fiber foods, like vegetables, and add protein to avoid raw hunger.
So far I'm maintaining the 43 lb loss from last year. I've decided to rid myself of the fat clothes. I'm just not going to get there again.
It's weird, though, that now sizes seem to have been enlargened again. I would wear a 6P now, except that they seem to fit like 8P. Has vanity sizing gone even more crazy?

Can I come over for breakfast? I just had oatmeal from a packet. Yours sounds way better! I can't do oatmeal packets anymore - too much weird "other stuff" taste to them. You can pretty much make your own oatmeal packets - 1/2 cup of quick oats and however much sugar and cinnamon in a ziplock baggie. Empty them into a bowl, add boiling water to desired consistency, stir, wait about 5 mins, enjoy! MUCH tastier and healthier than "packet oatmeal".

I'm down 4lbs overall and that's just with diet, I've taken no exercise beyond normal walking. I have been trying to do 30 days without any processed sugar and that has gone really well. I did have one slip up during the bad weather two weeks ago when I was stuck at home with the girls. They made cupcakes (which I didn't eat) but I made the icing from scratch and there was about a tablespoon leftover that I just scooped and ate. Delicious and no regrets!

I kept many of my old clothes, but when I went shopping for new bottoms, the same size in the store was too big.
