Not alone at all. All I've done is track and mostly maintain for years while whining that I need to do better. I have no motivation (at all, ever, about anything...except living indoors) and sometimes I feel like mostly maintaining is a victory. One day I will get sick enough of it to act differently but today doesn't seem to be that day. Exact same for me. I've been whining at myself for three years now. I went up ten pounds DD#1's senior year of high school (2015-16). I just can't seem to string together enough "good eating" days to make any difference. Then I get mad at myself again and wonder when I'm going to actually make a lifestyle change.

Friday was not as outlandish as it normally would have been. We went to our favorite local restaurant, but I behaved myself.
Wednesday: 2,567 calories. 312 carbs. Thursday: 1738 calories. 136 carbs. Friday: 1,934 calories. 216 carbs.
I've done decently with exercise. I need to make sure I'm both setting goals and attempting to meet them. My right side sciatic nerve is causing me a lot of grief though. I'm on week three of it being at minimum noticeable to not being able to actually walk. Since it's original damage during my second pregnancy, it's never bothered me this many days in a row before.

I need to get back on Myfitnesspal so today is my first day back:
Sunday: 1589 calories. 177 carbs.
Hopefully I can make it the rest of the night without eating anything else.

New breakfast this week. I can't into the overnight oats. I also can't get into the plain Greek yogurt. I got Kind clusters to mix into the yogurt. The sugar count isn't awful. I also dumped a teaspoon of Chia seeds in with the granola and I'll add two tablespoons of wild blueberries.
I have a dinner plan for the week. I'm taking leftovers for lunch on Monday. Hopefully being back at work increases my water intake.
Better food and getting 10k steps a day is probably all I can manage this week.

I can't eat plain greek yogurt. I add 1/2 teaspoon stevia in the raw and 1 teaspoon vanilla to a half cup of plain greek yogurt then I can eat it and it doesn't have all the sugars of the vanilla greek yogurt.

I eat worse at work then I do at home mainly because I work in a grocery store so if my "healthy" snack I take to work doesn't sound good at break I can buy unhealthy food very easily. I just need to have more willpower.

Well this wasn't one of my better weeks. It's been hot. My son was here for a visit. Then I got to thinking how sad it is that he "visits" because that means he doesn't actually live here anymore. All just excuses, I know.
Weights - didn't do even once. Hike - turns out my foot still can't fit into hiking boots. Steps - only managed 71,000. One bright spot - maintained weight.
So this week it's time to get my butt back in gear.
Weights 3 days 80,000 steps Short hike (depending on how swollen my foot still is)
Meh, that's good enough for a start.
Hope everyone else had a more productive week than I did!

Need to get back into exercising.
This week's goals to track calories. 70000 steps. Work on strength building exercises at least 3 times.
Have a great week everyone.

For me it's just so easy to out eat my exercise that while exercise is a huge motivator for me to get my eating in line, I have to weigh myself and unfortunately either track what I'm eating or stick to a specific meal plan in order to lose or honestly just maintain my weight. I'm coming to terms with the fact that this is never going to be over for me. Every time I get even remotely confident that I *am* going to continue losing weight I completely stall out and more often than not start gaining. I'm up a total of 8 pounds this summer, and I should be grateful it's only 8 pounds. That's with increasing jiu jitsu to 3 hour long classes a week, a daily walk every morning, and lots of biking, swimming, and some kettle bell work outs thrown in here and there. I'm never going to be able to not think about this stuff and not gain. And it's so freaking hard I just hate it. It's like budgeting. I look at how much money we make and think my god--we should be rich and able to afford all kinds of things. Instead we're grateful to have hand me down furniture, tent camping vacations, and you tube for home repairs. Chloe--Over the last week and half I've had more days than I want to admit of 2700+ calorie days. I consider it a win that I still tracked them. I could never be brave enough to post them here, but you are not alone. I'm having the same conversation with myself and it's really, really hard. I've felt like I'm fine, I haven't gained very much, it's fiiiiiiiine. All of a sudden my clothes don't fit and it's like. Oh. Well, shit. So back I come. This last week I didn't achieve all of my (pretty modest) goals, but for me, just weighing myself in the morning makes me focused on what I put in my mouth throughout the day. And some days, yeah, I still say "fuck it." But at least I'm not mindlessly demolishing food at an unreasonable rate and telling myself that it's fine...

Does it have a good variety of stuff to put in? The one I've been trying to use either doesn't have what I ate or a weird version of it from brands or stores that I didn't get it from. I forgot to respond to this. I use an app called Lose It! I like it a lot, and it has a wide range of exercises to get credit for - more, I think, than MFP. It does have a barcode scanner, which will pick up most foods automatically. BUT. You still have to guess sometimes. Like, I went out to a local mexican restaurant last week and had fajitas. My local mexican restaurant isn't in the database, obviously, so I was like, yeah, it's probably pretty similar to chili's? I do that with grocery items too. Like, it doesn't have this particular X brand of honey smoked turkey, but it does have another brand, and they're probably pretty similar at the end of the day. At the end of the day, I don't care enough to go to the deli and make them show me the bar code on the turkey so I can scan it. If you cook for yourself, you can add recipes. But again, for me that's kind of too much of a PITA. I just add the components that have a lot of calories in them. Like I had a salad and chili for lunch. I added in the chili and the olive oil for the salad, then just said I had 40 calories of carrots, which is more or less what I think everything else in the salad was. I don't care enough for a margin of error that small. It takes some practice to figure out what works for you with tracking, or if tracking works for you at all. I will say when I first started tracking, I was SHOCKED at how much I was actually eating, lol.

I'm finally starting to feel better after starting my new migraine meds a month ago. I've only had one migraine in the last month, which is truly life changing. AND, I'm no longer feeling sluggish, low on energy, wanting to sleep all the time, and my appetite is slowly coming back. So, fingers crossed this is a good turning point for me.
Food has been a shit show the last couple weeks. I've been eating just whatever sounds good (so mostly junky carbs) and I'm sure that's not helping with my energy levels. But I'm slowly starting to get back to my somewhat healthier ways. Well, I'm at least paying attention to what I'm eating and making the conscious decision to not eat 4 pieces of bread plus mashed potatoes, plus an extra serving of beans and rice with dinner, which is a positive.

Woke up today and my legs are fine, tg. However my left shoulder is jacked! Which makes sense since it wasn't a leg-heavy workout, it was much more arms and shoulders. Seven days in, I'm down 2.5 lbs this morning.

I'm going heavier on arms today. I got a little overzealous with the resistance at spin yesterday, so my legs need to rest. I don't really have a weight goal. I just want big guns (not too big, I don't want any confusion on my gender or anything) and for my clothes to fit. I gave Thing 2 a couple of shirts that don't fit anymore. They are too small in the arms and chest now, so I guess I'm making progress.

I'm trying to find routines that work for me, which has been a struggle since my fave ever app died.

So I get to the gym an hour before zumba every day and depending on what day it is decides what I'm doing that day. Today I'll do 15 minutes on the treadmill since I don't have spin. The rest of the 45 minutes will be a variation of different exercises all in sets of 20 reps. I will do pushups, chest presses, squats, kickbacks, Russian twists, v ups, weighted situps, weighted glute bridges, deadlifts, lat raises, standing flys, shoulder presses, leg lifts, dips, assisted chin ups, lat pull downs, etc. I just try and mix it up and not work the same body part with too many reps at once, and spread it out over my whole body. Today I will do more of the upper body stuff and less of the lower body. About 10 minutes before my zumba class I'll spend that time stretching. Then I go in for my full hour of zumba. I should be sweating before that class even starts. I know it seems like a lot, but I actually can fit all that into 50 minutes. I just start moving and don't stop until my time is up.

But andi's kids are either grown or almost-grown. Yours is... not. DH and I had a workable system last year - trading on and off who went to the gym. 1-3 hours, didn't matter. Once the kids were in bed, one stayed home in case the house caught fire, the other went to the gym. Since he's abandoned working out, right now I'm the only one who even might go to the gym. So technically I could probably do it, if they have zumba classes at 8pm...

That's true. I could also go almost any night after C goes down. DH encourages me to, but I'm just so tired by then. And I don't want to go earlier and miss out on even more time with C. Mom guilt strikes big time...

Someone with grown children and no husband such as myself. I work 7 days a week, but I work days which leaves me with evenings free. I only have to worry about the twins, but they're content to stay at home sleeping. I have no life.

Mom guilt strikes big time... I don't know how you could work full time, have little kids and maintain that. It's hard enough to get time with the kids when they're awake when they're little. It really does get easier as the kids get older (and harder as they get involved in more things but you already know that side of it--it's busy, but not nearly as all consuming as the baby/toddler years are). Although even now I couldn't tap out for 2 hours a night on a regular basis--because I wouldn't want to, and getting a decent amount of sleep helps my weight more than almost anything else so you won't find me trying to go to the gym super late either. We go for more activities we can do together.

Sunday - 1589 calories, 177 carbs Monday - 1817 calories, 244 carbs Tuesday - 1738 calories, 241 carbs
I don't think I could ever go low carb because apparently I love carbs too much. But I am keeping my calories in check.
