Saturday 6/9: 29 carbs. So much harder on the weekends. Down 3 pounds total. I'll do this through Friday, then I'm done. I don't even like ice cream, but I've been craving a sundae like you wouldn't believe.

I don't have enough self control to do low carb. And I don't have enough self-motivation to go to the gym like you do. I'm constantly impressed with your workouts! Awe. Thanks.

My DH and I eat on two very different schedules. He eats minimally all day and wants a big dinner at night. I eat a big breakfast, snacks and a good size lunch, then want to eat minimally at night! Ugh! I feel your pain! My DH does the majority of the cooking. We do meal plan together. His idea of a diet and mine are two different meal plans. I tell him I want low carb, and he's planning rice and pasta. In February, I decided I HAD to take charge of my eating - and I created my "eating plan" (I did not call it a diet). I figured out after the first week that I could follow it pretty good at work - Mon through Thur, bur Friday had a lot of hurdles (starting with the wonderful breakfast burritos brought in every Friday). So I weighed myself every Friday morning. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were "loose" days. Keep in mind I need to reduce carbs to lose weight (worked for me in the past). So I would eat brown rice with butter and sugar for breakfast. Boiled eggs, yogurt, fruit cup (usually watermelon and/or canteloup), banana, apple for snacks. Lunch would be protein (can of tuna, chicken breast, a hamburger- no bun) for lunch with fruit sometimes a few cheese and crackers. Afternoon snack same options as morning snack. Dinner - I kept romaine on hand to add a salad to my dinner to up my veggies. I would eat parts of the dinner I could - protein, veggies. Keep in mind that I meal planned with DH, so he was aware of what parts I would eat.
Friday Saturday and Sunday were loose days. Go out for Pizza? Great. I ordered a salad and ate that and limited myself to two slices of pizza. Having bread options? ok. Made sure I ordered extra fruits and veggies with my meal. I gave up soda, coffee, caffeine - drank water all the time.
As of the second week, I lost one pound a week. That was my goal and I was ecstatic. I work out twice a week with a personal trainer - had for the year prior and I still couldn't lose until I took control of my eating. I also have acid reflux - so once I eat dinner (hopefully by 7:30 pm on late nights) I had to stop eating for things to digest before I go to bed. That eliminated late night snacking! I also have HBP, so I have got DH to eliminate or cut back on adding salt to the recipe. (excluding baked goods) (This was going great one pound/week until May 1st when I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Still holding on to my eating plan kind of - then two weeks later was my anniversary and birthday and the decision to have a double mastectomy and my eating plan went out the window. Had the surgery May 31st, and a little over one week post-op I am doing pretty good.)
So I realize this weekend that I am sitting at home and things are going to get out of control. I weighed myself on Friday June 8, and plan on monitoring my weight. I bought some better option snack items for this week sitting on my keester reading and watching tv (and healing). Hmmm, I guess I should ease back into my "eating plan"...

Another weekly check-in:
I actually met all my goals this week. Squeaked in at just over 55,000 steps. Did weights 5/7 days. Stuck to less than 30g of carbs a day every day.
This week: My foot is slowly getting better, so I'll try for 60,000 steps Continue weights 5/7 days Keep the carbs under 30/day until at least Friday when by gosh I'm getting myself a damn sundae!!
Have a great week everyone!

Hit step goal by over 8000.

I'm skipping the gym on Wednesday and getting my hair cut instead. I regret nothing.

This weekend wasn't terrible carb wise. We went out for lunch on Saturday and I had salad and chili, and a couple pieces of bread. I thought Sunday would be worse than it was, so I'll take it! Total carbs: Saturday: 140 Sunday: 156 Today's lunch includes a ham sandwich, so carbs will be higher than I'd like, but when you send your DH grocery shopping and he doesn't understand what "lunch for week" means, you're stuck I'd rather eat the extra carbs than brave Kroger on a Sunday, haha. Hope everyone has a great week!

A coworker and I were talking about eating lower carb today. I said I would do it and then I went and got a burger and fries for lunch. I suck.

My first thought was that is why I do not own any white pants.

Didn't finish out last week well. I did at least have phenomenal food over the weekend. In an attempt to be make healthy choices, at one of the restaurants we ate at this weekend, I ordered a lentil and vegetable casserole. Oh, my...lentils clean out my intestines! Wearing white pants today. Note to self: no ketchup!!

A woman I work with spilled coffee on her white sweater this morning. I immediately thought of you, andi9899 I slept like crap last night. I was worried/panicked over work. Quite unnecessarily (which I new at the time) but I couldn't stop obsessing about it. I have almost no control over the situation I was worried about, and I kept telling myself that even if my bosses don't read my emails, I did keep them super informed of the situation. Just talked with my direct boss and he was surprised to hear I was worrying about it and told me not, it wasn't a big deal and it strengthened our position on another issue. So, now all I want to do is take a nap. It's like, all the pressure is off, my body is saying SLEEP! Instead, I will try not to spill my coffee all over myself

I am happy to report that I did manage to eat my food without getting any ketchup on my pants. Today I'm wearing a white dress. I'll never learn.

I keep trying to like overnight oats but it's just bland. I should have tossed some blueberries in but I was in a rush this morning. I'm trying to get away from eating the flavored Chobani due to the sugar content. I can't stand the plain kind alone. I'm allergic to egg whites so that is out.

I haven't posted on this thread in a while. But I did a couple of months back, right about the time I decided to do intermittent fasting. An update on that. In 3 months and 2 weeks I lost 9 lbs! Only by keeping my eating window between 12 noon and 8 pm. I eat everything and anything between that hour window. The next 16 hours is water/tea/coffee only. I feel no food deprivation and no cravings because there is no diet restriction at all. I keep it very loose as well. Sometimes my eating window is 10 am - 6 pm, sometimes on the weekends it is 12 noon - 11 pm. I just try to do the fasting for 12-15 hours, essentially by skipping breakfast. I highly recommend The first 2-3 weeks were an adjustment, but then I felt no hunger pangs in the mornings.

I eat too much to fast. I am going to try to fix my life and eat better, it's a work in progress. I have been nursing a fruit smoothie all morning. I think I'm going to have cauliflower and cheese soup for lunch. Maybe I'll have a chicken breast too. I had baked chicken and a salad last night for dinner. Tonight is pork chops however Thing 2 wants me to cook them. I'm sure we'll have some kind of veggie too.
Gym day 2. Going to go in a little early and lift weights before boxing.

I put dried fruit in it a lot, and a little goes a long way. I was going to suggest baked oatmeal, but you'll need a different recipe than mine, it has eggs in it. :/

I need to put some more stuff in jar. At least this time it wasn't sloppy mushy like the last time I tried.

I don't use chia seeds like lots of recipes call for, or even any yogurt. I just decrease the amount of liquid a little. I also stick it in the microwave as often as I eat it cold.

We haven't tried the overnight oats. We do have regular oats though. They're much heartier than the instant oats.
DH's bday is tomorrow, and he brought home cake from work. It's super good cake too.

I went to the gym yesterday and lifted weights and the went full on beast mode at boxing. I may have to keep with that once a week after I go back to my regular Zumba routine. It's a really hard class. And it's a full body workout. Plus, who doesn't like to hit things?
And don't tell Zumba Boy, but I've still been doing squats even though I bytch about them all the time in class. I worked hard on these legs, so I'm not letting them go while he's gone. I've been doing about 200 squats a day. When he comes back and I have to do them in class again I'm still going to bytch about it too. 😜

Gym day #3 for me. I skipped yesterday and Thing 1 and SIL came over. I of course cooked for them too. I made pork chile with rice which is not good for me at all, but it tasted really good. I was going to bring leftovers for lunch, but I think I'll have a salad instead. I have to start eating better.
So today I'm trying a new HIIT class. There is a 30 minute ab workout at the end for a total of 90 minutes. I usually do 2 hours, but I think the HIIT part is going to wipe me out. My arms still hurt from boxing the other day so hopefully I don't fall out. I'll report back if I don't die.
