Well, I'm back! (sort of) I've been following everyone's posts, but I've been such a slug that there was no use posting myself. I'm off the crutches, but now I'm in a ridiculously ugly bulky shoe thing for six more weeks. I'm so mad at myself for not doing this during the winter so I'd be all healed up now for the nice weather. Grrrrr!! But four plates and 21 screws later, the doctor says this should permanently fix it, so if I can just get through this, my stupid foot shouldn't have any more problems.
So I can still only do so much for now. I wasn't in any pain until I started walking. Holy mother, ouch! But it's already not quite as painful after just the last couple days. My goals will be pretty modest for now:
Lose the couple pounds I gained sitting on my tush (note to self: quit buying chips!!!) Arm and leg weights every day now that I can stand on two feet (yeah you may remember I was going to do arm weights and chair exercises, pfft didn't really happen) 40,000 steps this week - hopefully I can do more, but as I said, ouch!
That's it. We're almost half way through the year already, and I feel like I haven't gotten anywhere on my original goals. OTOH, we still have over half a year to make it happen. So it's still possible.
I hope you all have a great week!

ners: where the heck do you live/work that you don’t have AC in your office? That sounds miserable! I got in a long, hot, humid 18,000 steps today. I have a work conference this week, so I’ll be lucky to reach 10k steps each day. Still my goal, but trying to not stress about it. Have a good week, all!

flamingo The building is close to 90 years old and I work in the half that does not have AC. They are being very slow at putting in the window units this summer.

Joining this group if I may. I've gained about 10 lbs since starting on anti-depressants in Jan. Even though the meds are holding back the depression, I seem to be eating crappy food way more often and way more of it. It has to stop because the weight gain isn't helping my mood or my body image. Also I could be a test subject for the eating sugar makes you crave sugar makes you eat more sugar spiral. I never usually have a sweet tooth but not anymore - gimme soda, office baked goods, candy, etc. Ugh! I didn't see a specific format for updates and I don't own a scale so I'm going to use this thread to post the fruits and veggies that I eat each day along with the crap hoping the former begins to outweigh the latter. 5/17/18 Fruits/veggies
banana salad for lunch Crapnutter bar - just had it, craving another ARGH
Glad you're here! I've been MIA on this thread. No, there's not a format for posting. We each have different goals. So last year I lost about 25 pounds. did it with being consistent with exercise and more or less cutting out nearly all alcohol. I just had a stressful few months with buying a house, slowly drinking every day again, being mid move, and going out to eat which I didn't do much before. I've gained back all the weight!!! I'm so mad at myself. So I'm starting over. Making small goals I know I can meet. I should have the weight off in 3-4 months. I decided to cut out alcohol again, but I'm starting small. Limiting myself to one glass of wine a day this week. And maybe next week I go down to a few times a week. I think the alcohol is disrupting my sleep and makes it harder for me to exercise in the mornings like I used to. I was getting up at 5am-5:30am. Now I get up at like 8 on days I work from home, and even with more sleep I'm not as well rested. Another thing I'm starting today is some before bedtime yoga. I'm also going to stop eating out so much. I'm still on the dating scene so cutting it out completely will be difficult. I know I need to up my fruit and vegetable intake again. That is so easy to let slip when you aren't being vigilant about it. So here I go again weighing in at 180. I try to incorporate 15 minutes of yoga three or four days per week. Sometimes it's in the morning before I get dressed; sometimes it's before bed. My shoulders and lower back appreciate it. Anyone have a Fitbit Versa or Ionic? Trying to decide between one of those and just biting the bullet and getting an Apple watch. No, none of my family have any of those. I have a FitBit Charge 2; DS has a FitBit Alta; DH has a FitBit Flex 2. The Charge 2 shows me my texts and tells me when my phone is ringing. It also has alarms and a stop watch. DD has an AppleWatch, but I don't think she uses it to her full potential--which is indicative of her entire life at the moment.

May has been a stupid month weight and exercise wise. I take BC pills 82 days straight, so when I finally get my period it knocks me out for three or four days. That was last week. It's still worth it I suppose. It also caused me to go up four to five pounds in about three weeks. That's dropped back down now that I'm back to normal.
I am back on the calorie intake control goal. (I'm a poet!) Anyone want to post calorie stuff with me? However you want to post it is just dandy; I'm just hoping to have a partner in crime.
My goal is to be under 1700 calories per day regardless of exercise. Monday 5/28: 1868 Tuesday 5/29: Wednesday 5/30 Thursday 5/31: Friday 6/1: Saturday 6/2: Sunday 6/3:

June goals switch gym location to the one near my current house and no milkshakes. I have picked up some very bad eating habits living with DH and it's reflected on the scale and in my clothes not fitting.

Knee Deep in Water Chloe: Good luck on your calorie goal. I struggle with counting calories and hate logging my food. I did it for years and I think it traumatized me. Though maybe it would help me curb the overeating I know will happen at this conference...

Okay Knee Deep in Water Chloe
Tuesday 5/29: 1275 calories. That wasn't completely terrible. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't awful either.

I cooked dinner and after we cleaned up, we went for a walk. We walked over to the next street to DH's sister's house and borrowed her dog. We took him on a long walk. It's cooler outside than in our house and we both need the exercise. 14,000 steps for the day so back on the right track.
Tomorrow won't be as good. It's supposed to rain so we won't be able to walk. I'm also working at home with a doctor's appointment in the middle.

Calorie counting for me always worked best when I did a week total. So some days would be high, others low enough to compensate. I remember going for 10500 calories/week.
I'm back to low carbing; I put on a few pounds when we were in Maine. The ice cream every day put me over the top, but worth every bite. I aim for under 50 g of carbohydrates per day. For DH, 80. This works better for him than intermittent fasting.

Well this is depressing. I've gone hungry for four days now and haven't lost at all. Shouldn't I be down like eight pounds after all my suffering?!?

Sigh. I did phenomenally well today. I had everything taken care of, and I ate my dinner at 5:30. I intended to not eat again after that. Then, after DD’s dance recital, we went to a Mexican restaurant. 9:30 at night and I had chicken nachos. No wonder I cannot lose weight. @@

Sunday 6/3: 1265 It's been six days of low cal. I have no idea how many calories I normally eat a day, but I've definitely been eating way less. And I still haven't lost an ounce! How is that even possible?? Fun experiment Chloe. It's been awesome I'll weigh myself in the morning, and if I still haven't lost anything, I'm switching to low carb. At least I know that one works for me. Or it did the one time I seriously tried it anyway.
As far as hitting my goals, I did pretty well. I was aiming for 40,000 steps and got in 51,000. Did my weights 6/7 days.
This week: 55,000 steps Weights at least 5 days Either continue with the low cal thing another week, or switch to low carb and keep it under 30g/day
Enjoy your week everyone!

Weekly check in
Hit step goal by over 3000 steps. Weight is holding steady.
This week step goal 77000. I am going to attempt to track calories. Not sure how successful I will be.
Have a great week. Keep up the good work.

Had 71,000 steps last week. First time in several weeks. 4/7 days with 10,000 steps.
Still working on the water intake.
We took several long walks on the non rainy days. Hopefully the rain is gone. We've had more than double the usual rainfall for May.

I made a ton of progress on our store room this weekend. Enough that we can start turning what we have been using as a storage room into our home gym. I need to get mats for the floor now. It's crazy, because I've never liked the idea of a lot of tv's at home, but I want a tv in there. It's been a good way to unwind lately to practice in front of the tv at night and it will make sure we actually use the room.

My main problem: DH keeps feeding me. I don't know how to get him to understand that I cannot eat three huge meals per day. We've addressed this problem before, but it's like he's forgotten.
