Weekly check in
I hit step goal. Not strength exercise goal. Eating can always improve.
I have managed to lose 5 pounds since beginning of year. Now to keep those off and continue losing.
This week I am moving step goal back to 75000. Strength training at least 3 times. No snacking after 9:00.
Keep up the good work and have a great week.

Well, I made the cauliflower soup. I liked it, but Thing 2 didn't care for it. Skinny Taste is striking out in the andi household. I'll have to try some others before we rule it out all together.

I'm a total of 40 pounds down from the beginning of last year. 10 pounds lost in the last 12 weeks which I'm good with. I have my ups and downs, but now that I track my ups too I feel like I have a better picture of what is happening. At my doctors appointment tomorrow I'm going to ask them to do my bmi to compare to last year.
I don't always track my calories, but I do that more consistently than I was and I need to increase my fiber and protein. I'm hoping those will take care of decreasing my total sugar intake, but if it doesn't then I'll have to work on that next.
I'm loving jiu jitsu. I think I'm a little obsessed with it even though I'm terrible. The family still loves it too thankfully. I'm starting to really feel strong again though which is amazing. I hope I never lose it again.

I'm having a homemade salad with spinach, carrots, green peppers, grilled chicken and some cheese (along with a greek yogurt and a banana). I'm feeling quite virtuous. Understand, however, that I'm probably going to be starving by 3 and struggling not to pig out on chips.

Although except from an accident I couldn't actually hurt someone at this point. Terrible at it is probably an understatement in all honesty.

Not doing super great food-wise (the sugar addiction is back in semi-full force), but I could do worse. Not exercising as much - only 3-4 days a week now - mainly because I feel more tired lately. But I've made some decent meals so far. Lunch was Cuban style black beans (recipe from Skinny Taste) with brown rice and oven baked plantain slices. Not the healthiest but I got my fiber in.... and it was goooooood. I'll satisfy my sweet tooth with a jar of "rice" pudding (made with chia seeds instead of rice) later. Now I have to stop at Walmart for DS's vitamins and cotton balls. Hopefully I have the strength to avoid the gummi candy section.

also, how fast do you all eat? My colleague can take 15-20 mins to finish 1 Cliff Bar, meanwhile I ate my entire lunch in under 5 mins.

Oh Jena...I ate my weight in sugar in the last 3-4 days due to all the stress. And didn't even gain an ounce I don't recommend my method though So you are liking SkinnyTaste recipes so far? I made the yogurt chocolate chip muffins from her recipe the other day. They were soooooo good, super tasty, moist and so much healthier than the regular muffins. Pretty low on sugar as well.

I am generally anti-muffin because they are, on the whole, VERY sugary and unhealthy but touted like they're healthy... but throw in chocolate chips and I'm there!

I have to make an effort to slow myself down, otherwise I feel like I can eat a whole meal in 5 minutes. If I'm having a meal with someone and we are super chatty, that helps me eat slower. If I'm by myself, man, it's tough. But anyone who takes that long to eat a Clif Bar is unnatural, LOL.

yeah, if I am out with a friend it can take me 20-25 mins to finish a meal. Alone, I basically inhale my food.

I eat really slowly, so a little bit of food fills me up really fast. I'm trying to eat mindfully, savoring each bite.

Joining this group if I may. I've gained about 10 lbs since starting on anti-depressants in Jan. Even though the meds are holding back the depression, I seem to be eating crappy food way more often and way more of it. It has to stop because the weight gain isn't helping my mood or my body image. Also I could be a test subject for the eating sugar makes you crave sugar makes you eat more sugar spiral. I never usually have a sweet tooth but not anymore - gimme soda, office baked goods, candy, etc. Ugh!
I didn't see a specific format for updates and I don't own a scale so I'm going to use this thread to post the fruits and veggies that I eat each day along with the crap hoping the former begins to outweigh the latter.
5/17/18 Fruits/veggies banana salad for lunch
Crap nutter bar - just had it, craving another ARGH

I'm down since January 25, 2018 I was 58.3 kg or 128.53 lbs to now today May 17, 2018 54.4 kg or 119.93 lbs.
I'm thinking it's the bloating that was adding the weight on, plus I'm on the mend now.

So last year I lost about 25 pounds. did it with being consistent with exercise and more or less cutting out nearly all alcohol. I just had a stressful few months with buying a house, slowly drinking every day again, being mid move, and going out to eat which I didn't do much before. I've gained back all the weight!!! I'm so mad at myself.
So I'm starting over. Making small goals I know I can meet. I should have the weight off in 3-4 months. I decided to cut out alcohol again, but I'm starting small. Limiting myself to one glass of wine a day this week. And maybe next week I go down to a few times a week. I think the alcohol is disrupting my sleep and makes it harder for me to exercise in the mornings like I used to. I was getting up at 5am-5:30am. Now I get up at like 8 on days I work from home, and even with more sleep I'm not as well rested. Another thing I'm starting today is some before bedtime yoga. I'm also going to stop eating out so much. I'm still on the dating scene so cutting it out completely will be difficult. I know I need to up my fruit and vegetable intake again. That is so easy to let slip when you aren't being vigilant about it.
So here I go again weighing in at 180.

Anyone have a Fitbit Versa or Ionic? Trying to decide between one of those and just biting the bullet and getting an Apple watch.

Now that it's nice outside, a couple coworkers and I are trying to take a walk at lunch every (or most) days. But it went from winter to summer and skipped right over spring, so now I'm hot and sweaty. I appreciate the extra steps, but I wish I could take a shower LOL.

On my long study days all I do is eat. It's ridiculous, and I always know it's coming so ideally I'd have at least really healthy stuff on hand. Today though was berry colossal crunch, and a potato, egg, and cheese dish. In absurd proportions. All.day.long.

Weekly check in Hit step goal by over 3000. No strength training. Eat was okay. Keeping same goals as last week. flamingo I try to walk at lunch as well. They have not installed the AC in my office so this week I may have to rethink going out in the heat to come back to a hot office.
