It sounds good (I love beans) but I wouldn't have imagined it as a breakfast food. I might give it a try. Thanks! I know you're not originally from America so I'm not sure how much this applies to you, but IMO there are certain foods in this country that are thought of as "breakfast foods" - cereal, fruit, oatmeal, eggs, bacon, pancakes/waffles/French toast.... lots of sweet things and relatively simple carbs - ESPECIALLY cereal. It's taking a lot of work for me to get out of that "only eat X foods for breakfast" head space. It's very similar in the UK. I grew up eating either toast or corn flakes for breakfast. As an adult, neither of those things sound good or filling but I have been stumped to find alternatives to eggs. I do like the yogurt but I want something else and, as you said, there's no reason why it has to be traditional breakfast foods. I'm friends with the nutritionist at work who follows a paleo diet and she regularly consumes ground beef for breakfast... I don't think I'm ready!

I keep meaning to make a breakfast "fried rice" - eggs, veggies, and rice. Maybe some ham or bacon thrown in. That's another possible option. Oatmeal isn't bad as far as filling you up (especially if you add fruit and flaxseed) but I need to sweeten it.

For a breakfast change, I make either Finnish pancake and freeze slices of it. Warm and eat in the a.m., easy, high protein, low carb and great change of pace. Also make granola - heavy on nuts, unsweetened coconut, oatmeal, flax and some dried fruit. A handful with yogurt or just coffee keeps me going for 5 or so hours. Easy on the run, great macros, too - lower carbs (high fiber), high protein.

I don't have eggs often since I have an egg sensitivity... so for breakfast I have been making breakfast hash. Roast up some veggies (anything works... potatoes, squash, carrots, parsnips, broccoli ) and some chicken apple sausage (Sam's choice or TJs) sometimes I add a little avocado if I have some on hand. Topping it with a dippy egg is heaven ( I wish I could do that everyday, but alas...), or even some hot sauce.

I did have cereal again this morning, but I added cut strawberries and a side of peanut butter whole grain toast. That was actually filling. I planned to go to the gym after work, but it has already been a long day (had to go into the city office and then train and Uber back to the regular office) and I'm not feeling too well.

I didn't have to be in to work until about 10am today. It was SO glorious to be able to sleep until 7, get a work out in, and leisurely enjoy my coffee and breakfast. I wish every work day started like that!

Last night to celebrate Valentine's Day, we had fondue. Of course, the girls only ate the chocolate so DH and I ate all the cheese. It was delicious but I stepped on the scale this morning and I'm almost 2lbs heavier! Oh well, back to normal eating patterns today .

I am doing better this week at steps, eating and water intake. I'm going home this weekend so hopefully my steps don't completely fall off. The forecast looks favorable though so I might be able to get out and take some walks.
When the weather is decent and I'm visiting Grandma, I will walk to get steps in. I'll walk to the post office instead of driving, etc.

Missed step goal by 1830 steps. Weight doing okay. Eating have good days and then not so good days.
Keeping step goal 77,500. Hope to keep stress eating in check this week.

This past week was a horrible eating/almost no exercise kind of week. Had too many evening activities. Didn't gain anything, but the bloat feeling was beyond. I did go door knocking yesterday (I need signatures to get on the Dem primary ballot to be a committee person), but a two hour leisurely stroll around a few blocks doesn't count. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow and Wednesday, so hopefully i will get motivated!

I totally blew it this week. I didn't exercise even one day in the morning. As soon as the alarm clock rings, I turn and go back to sleep. It feels as if I need so many hours of sleep at night. I don't know how to handle it. I arrive home at 7 and try to be in bed at 10, with the alarm set at 6 to give me time to exercise and have breakfast. Well, I've been sleeping until 8 every morning and then rushing to make it to work. Today I am off work. The alarm is set up for tomorrow and I really hope I can go back to my exercise routine. I've been walking at lunch time, around an hour, every day.

I'm going to say yesterday was an overall good day. I went for a 40 minute walk, I went nuts cleaning windows since it was so weirdly warm, and I made shrimp, quinoa, broccoli, and mushrooms for dinner (and today's lunch). Tonight i am making Indian spiced lentils.
I also bought a cherry pie yesterday because it was national cherry pie day. My favorite! I regret nothing.

Ate pretty healthy the last 2 weeks, but snuck some snacks in here and there... stepped up my workouts.
You really can't out run a crappy diet.
Feeling bloated and sluggish... i am up 4 pounds in 2 week (i know i didnt gain 4 lbs of fat... but crappy food holds on bloats!) starting a custom food plan on Sunday once I can shop and plan everything out.

So I think my calorie count came out ok, but half of it was crap. Dor breakfast I had a protein shake and an apple spice muffin. Lunch was a bag of frozen steamable vegetables and a huge piece of banana bread.

Well I've been replacing breakfast with smoothies and I like it. Today's is spinach, mango, strawberry, pineapple, peach, and apple juice. It's yummy. Thing 2 was not impressed.
