Here’s my monthly totals. I need to see what my goals were and reflect on the month. Then, I need to set some February goals.

Well, I dind’t hit my goal of 425,000 steps for January. But, I did get over 400,000 which I wasn’t sure I was going to do. And, even though I spent the last 5 days with my parents, I managed to get some good long walks in. I also realized that it’s a miracle my whole family isn’t obese. I have never been so glad to be home, eating bland chicken, tossed salad and yams. I never want to eat wonder bread, potato chips, or cream of something soup again! I love my parents, but their cooking could use some upgrading. And every time I offered to cook, my dad shot me down and banned me from the kitchen. Thank goodness for the 5 bottles of wine Also, those of you who take care of your parents full-time (or more often than I do) I give you major kudos. It was exhausting. Not just the caring for them, but keeping them from doing the stuff they can’t do (heavy lifting, driving, liquid diet, etc). I’m glad I was able to do it, but man, I’m just as glad to be home!

Well, time for me to face reality. I had a visit to my doctor in mid-December. Everything was looking fine. I went on vacation and came back a couple of weeks ago. During vacation I ate a lot but I would go on long walks every day, and I would swim almost daily.
I have to go the store, buy healthy stuff, eat it, and start exercising again. Vacation time is over. I am eating from the cafeteria at work and at night I'm getting takeout. I can't go on like this or my health will deteriorate again.
I haven't exercised since I came back. Yes, I walk during my lunch break, but that's it and I need more than that. I have to find the motivation and discipline to get up early again, exercise, eat a healthy breakfast, pack a healthy lunch, etc. It's so difficult to get back on track. I hope participating in this thread helps me.

11 days of low carb. I lost 5.4 pounds so I'm calling it a win and quitting early. I definitely notice that I feel better eating "natural fat" versus "processed fat." What my cholesterol looks like now is anyone's guess though! I need to think of another goal to start working on next week.

I have never seen/heard of these, but I'm also not a huge Fritos fan.

January Reflection
Goals for January Ending Weight: 142.5 ...Nope...not even close 145.2 Calorie intake <49,600 ... Um, not great...58,652 . That's 9,052 over my goal. Steps >465,000 ... OMG, who set these goals NO, I didn't meet this one either. 441,808 was my total. 23,192 short. Cardio Days: 25 ... 23 days of cardio in January. Setting a goal of six days per week of cardio was not realistic at all. Ab Days: 9 ... fail. I did abs on five days. Plank Days: 14... I did not even remember that I set this goal. There are times during my ab workouts and yoga, I did planks. Yoga Days: 5...YAY ME! Average Weekly Water Intake: >50 oz. I worded this goal incorrectly. It should say 50 oz per day is average for each week. So, the goal the way it was originally written, yes I met it. But that wasn't the intention. I did make 43.6 oz per day as the average of the weekly daily average. So, one more glass of water per day would be necessary.

I may or may not have committed to another step challenge. We'll see if the other girls involved are serious. I'm pretty sure they're not.

Weekly check in:
This week went well. I got in 88,000 steps. I don't expect to repeat that anytime soon, though. Finished my low-carb diet and weight loss goal, just in time to pig out on Superbowl party snacks. Didn't meet my gym goal, but nothing unusual there. I did manage to go twice.
This week I have a few different goals:
Thanks to Knee Deep in Water Chloe mentioning it, planks every day. I have no idea how long I can hold them, so the goal this week is just as long as possible every day.
100 oz. of water a day. To clarify - non-caffeinated water. You can pry my coffee out of my cold dead hands, so this is in addition to that. I may spend the entire day walking back and forth to the bathroom, but on the plus side, it'll raise my daily step count
And for some God-forsaken reason, I agreed to a burpee challenge. This one is going to suck. I don't know how many I have to do yet, but even one sounds like too many.
Hope every one enjoyed the weekend!

Lol planting flowers would be more fun. I should have explained better. I guess not everyone had to do those hideous things in middle school gym class.

Weekly check in.
Hit step goal by a mere 450 steps.
I really need to get eating under control. Weight not doing well.
This week's goal 75000 steps fit in some strength training. Start tracking food and water.
Have a great week everyone.

Yesterday was a step FAIL. I was so tired when I got home, and my DH wanted to chat over cocktails and I just couldn't make myself go take a walk first. We've been struggling recently, though things seem to be getting slowly better, so I didn't want to pass up the chance to connect with DH. Though cocktails turned into 3 glasses of wine and extra dessert. Dh is trying to win me over with my favorite indulgences

skipped working out yesterday due to getting home so late from the SB get-together I went to Sunday night. I did a 22 min total body workout with weights, but I am still so achy and tired. Maybe it's the crap I've been eating. And due to stomach acid issues, I've cut out coffee and tea.

The entire month of Feb has been a fail so far. (Yes, all 6 days of it) I think I've taken my vitamins mostly but no exercise at all and I'm comfort eating. A lot. You would too if you were having the kids issues we are. I don't really want to get into details, but I'm just drained and brain dead and if I want fried food and sugar, screw it, I'm having it. As soon as I feel more human, less zombie I will be at it again but now I just can't be bothered to care.

Thanks Rae! And apparently complaining was just what I needed I feel way more human today than I have since last Thursday and I actually did my little bit of exercise during lunch here at work. We will see how I do on the food today.

Well, I didn't die. I'm now home, showered, and eating dinner. Baked chicken, rice, and green beans. Yum.
