When I 'low carb' it I stay below 50 g after deducting fiber. It has worked well for me. Surprising how much you can eat in actuality if you go for high-fiber foods, like vegetables, and add protein to avoid raw hunger. So far I'm maintaining the 43 lb loss from last year. I've decided to rid myself of the fat clothes. I'm just not going to get there again. It's weird, though, that now sizes seem to have been enlargened again. I would wear a 6P now, except that they seem to fit like 8P. Has vanity sizing gone even more crazy? Everything depends on the brand and cut... and even then it isn't consistent. I have 2 jeans, same store... same size... same cut... different shades of denim, one is nearly a size bigger then the other.

She couldn’t grasp why she couldn’t just buy the same size jeans and why I was making her try each pair on. Then she was mad because the same sizes were definitely NOT the same size. Welcome to womanhood, my beautiful girl. 😋

In her defense, I have 3 pairs of jeans in the same brand. One dark blue, one black one that's a size larger than the dark blue ones and then another dark blue pair I got more recently in the same size as the black pair that is about to fall off it's so big.

I am on the last phase of my shred... my most restrictive phase which doesn't really support workouts beyond light yoga and walking. I have had a headache for 2 days... I am.going to move macros around tomorrow to see if I can find a better balance. Pushing through though!

well I didn't eat all the things, but I did make myself nachos for dinner... definitely not a good choice. I haven't been eating as much produce as I should be. My stomach has been some level of upset for several days and my .... stuff.... isn't moving as freely and regularly as it usually does. I am a carb monster and I know I need to reduce consumption. Breakfast is hard though. I keep saying I'll have eggs at breakfast, and I've been eating eggs for many years (the egg sandwich is pretty much the only thing I'll eat from McD's), but the thought of having eggs at breakfast is starting to turn my stomach. Yogurt is good but I'll still need to sweeten it and/or add fruit (carbs).

I haven't been here in a long time, work has been cray crazy!! Quick update from me: In addition to monitoring my diet, I started intermittent fasting last Monday, 01/22. I scoured the internet for information before I started and after a lot of reading I decided on doing the 16:8 window. Which basically means eating nothing for 16 hours and then eating normally for 8 hours. I eat between noon-8:00 pm, anything I want, including dessert. Then I just stick to low-calorie liquids between 8 pm till noon the next day. Lots of water, flavored water, coffee, tea etc. 8 of the 16 non eating hours are spent sleeping, so its been surprisingly easy. The best part? I am down 3.5 lbs in 9 days. With very low effort on my part and just getting in 10000-11000 steps each day thorough walking. I am not heavy at all, so getting even 1-2 lbs has been a struggle. So THIS is good! The first 2 days were a bit rough, but the 3rd day onwards any of my sugar or carb cravings have gone way down. I eat carbs when I eat, I just don't "crave" them as much. So far so good I plan to experiment with this till March end. So more to come....

Me too. I've been out of control since Christmas. Well, yesterday was good, but I ran out of time to exercise this afternoon. I did walk all over the stinking mall, and several other stores, trying to find a winter coat for my ODS. I guess he'll have to swim in the size 8-10 for the rest of the season, 'cause there's next to nothing.

Yogurt is good but I'll still need to sweeten it and/or add fruit (carbs). I have a hard time eating eggs early in the morning. Maybe it's the smell - they just seem really unappetizing. Dumping a bunch of cheese on them helps, but not much. For some reason they just sound better at 10am than they do at 5:30am.
Have you thought of having other proteins for breakfast instead of carbs or eggs? I have four sausage links pretty much every morning. Yes they have more fat (though maybe not much more depending what you're used to having), but they keep me full for 4-5 hours, so overall I'm probably eating less. Maybe celery with peanut butter or string cheese or even some lunchmeat? I think we get into the mindset that we have to have "breakfast foods" for breakfast, but a lot of them aren't all that filling.
Oh, and I'm jealous of that nacho dinner!

I had 2 eggs and 2 pieces of wheat toast for breakfast. We'll see if I can behave myself today. The cafe is making chicken cesar salad for lunch, maybe I'll have that. I did decline a muffin offered to me just now, so there was one act of self control.

I made myself 2 egg whites and sauteed spinach for breakfast - topped with a little sharp cheddar and with a slice of whole wheat high fiber toast. And about 60% of a tangerine. Not bad but I can't have that every day. And now I have rotten stomach.... again... so my mid morning snack is 4oz of Alka Seltzer water.

I do 2 eggs and 1 slice of wheat or multigrain toast just about every morning, plus 1 cup of coffee. That gets me about 400 calories. It's pretty bland, so not tough on the tummy, but if mine is feeling really bad, I would stick with just toast or oatmeal.

So I got a visitor (AF) yesterday and I'm hating my life. I really don't want to go to the gym tonight. I'm going to try, but I really want to just be lazy tonight.

I'm starting to think my queasiness about eggs might have had to do with my cookware and/or the cooking lubricant used. Before I married X, I lived with another woman - a grad student. I was basically replacing a woman that ended up not being a good roomie match for this grad student, so the kitchen was already fully stocked. I used her cookware which was a little older - no teflon or ceramic coating. I found that eggs, for me, never tasted right when I cooked them at that apartment. When I started cooking them with my own gear (teflon) I used the Pam-type spray. That created a bad egg experience for me too. Apparently my eggs need to be cooked on a griddle or something with a non-absorbent surface and with something other than spray butter.

My body was like "we are NOT waking up now." I don't see how people can wake up that early and work out. I frequently wake up crazy early just because I can't go back to sleep, but no way am I exiting my bed at that hour. I instead play with the internet until my alarm goes off. 😐

it's much easier for me to work out in the morning than at night, especially on days with DS. I would have to wait til he goes to sleep - after 8:30pm. There is no way I have enough energy for a workout at that time of night.

I use real butter--no margarine. I'm sure oil would work well too, just no fake stuff.
