I'm home finally. After more meds and two bags of fresh frozen plasma, the drs. decided to go for the biopsy. I'm sorry and tired, but can take care of myself.
I should have the results some time next week, but I'm not too optimistic, but I'm at peace with the worst case scenario.
They also drain another 1700cc of fluid which brings to total to 5900cc since last Tuesday.
I really appreciate all the well wishes, they mean a lot to me.

The hospital is no place anyone wants to be. You must feel some better with all that fluid build-up relieved. Just take it easy, get lots of rest, and know we're here when you need somebody to share with. All the love, Sues.

Glad you were able to get out of the hospital. It's a horrible place to get any rest and recover.

Please take care of yourself. Do you have to go back to work soon? I hope you can stay home and rest.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I took a four hr nap today and still feel drained. At least I'm just sore and not hurting. I feel like they took two gallons of blood over the last week or so.

Glad you are home. If you have to go back to work, can you go part time for awhile? You can't let yourself get run down.

Good news, no cancer. Bad news is a severely diseased liver that is causing damage to my other organs. The cancer specialist was talking about putting me on the liver transplant list, but wants to see what the gastro specialist has to say first. I don't believe that I'm going to go that route, but we'll see. I've been calling to schedule an appt., but have not had a call back, so I will be on the phone all day today until I get through.' I'm sore, tired and just want to sleep all the time which is not helping things and I have no appetite, so I don't eat even though I have way to much food. I talked to DD and DS the Thursday before I went to the hospital and of course they were upset, but I could not answer their questions at the time because I did not know what was going on. They came with me to the cancer doctor's visit because they wanted to hear the news first hand and not from me because they know I would not have told them everything. Both were relieved at first, but now are in limbo because they are not sure what is next. I still have not told my oldest DD or my sisters, but will when I know more. Thank all of you for being here for me, I truly appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Now, just take one step at a time. The gastroenterologist may have good news for you, as well, and the condition may be treatable without transplant. That's what I'm going to be hanging my hat on. Glad the kids came with you. They can be a good source of support while you wait for further information. You're a strong woman holding firm in the face of some pretty scary stuff. We all care and will be here, with and for you. Please, continue to keep us informed. Big hugs!

I am really glad that there is no cancer, and that your kids are now aware of things and able to provide you with support and encouragement.
I hope that your liver problem is treatable without a transplant. However, I have one friend and one coworker that have had liver transplants, and they are doing very well. My friend had his at least 15 years ago and has been in good health ever since.

Glad to hear it is not cancer.
One trick on helping with the doctors and all the discussions is to ask if you can record them. This is from my mom, the 77 year old techie, it helps her deal with some of my hearing challenged dad's medical issues. Ask the doctor if you can record the conversation. You can do this on a smartphone or I think even on an older phone. Then you can listen later or share with others. It also gives you time to look up anything you don't understand. I think all the doctors have given approval when asked.

They don't need a whole liver for a transplant if that helps you any but I'm so glad it's not the C word!

YIPPEE! Liver's are treatable, and Zib is right you don't need a whole liver for a transplant, just a piece of a healthy one.

Wonderful news about it not being cancer. Not so fab about the rest. Jag is right, a partial liver can be transplanted and, for the donor at least, it will regenerate. Not sure about for the recipient. I have a friend who has been through liver issues, I can check with her and see what she says. She's into the holistic side of things though. PM me if you'd like me to check in with her and get info. I would be more than happy to do it.

I'm searching for all information I can find at this point. I'm feeling much better, and I think the lack of food is what is causing the lack of energy So today I am going to force my self to eat a little something every hour. It sux when nothing sounds good or tastes good. Funny joke in the house now is if I having a boy or a girl and really bad names, because my stomach is so distended that I look like I'm 9 months pregnant. At least we have a sense of humor through this. Thank you everyone for your support

I will do so and get it out to you as soon as I can.
Can you just have some protein drinks, like Ensure or Boost? My mother used to do that when she just didn't feel like eating. It got something into her. Or broth. Have a cup of broth. Just take care of yourself please!!!

They've got a number of flavors of both Boost Plus and Boost Breeze. Mother liked the chocolate Boost Plus and the Wild Berry Boost Breeze best.

Sue,
Try baby food or pudding cups if you can have them - they are small enough that you can actually finish them and some of them taste good.
The baby fruit packs seem to be really good - the organic ones without the added sugar.
