See this is the crazy thing. I just had a complete blood work done in July and everything was fine. Then I felt fine in August and it wasn't until a few days after hurricane Irma hit that I started not to feel well. I chalked the bloating/constipation up to eating junk food because of the loss of power/stores were bare.
After taking OTC meds and them not working is when I went to the doctor.

Hugs Sue. It really brings back some bad memories with my sister and I wish there was something that can be done early.

Thanks everyone. saveinla, I will admit to being a procrastinator, but I can usually tell when my body isn't right. So thought that I try some OTC first, but when those did not work I went in as soon as possible.

Having done chronic illness appts with my husband for years and helping my dad with cancer, I echo that you need someone to talk to. there are therapists that specialize in cancer/illness to help you when there is a long road ahead. Also you must find someone to go with you to the dr because you won't hear all of the info or think of many questions.  Any nurse friends? someone with medical knowledge would be a plus. At a minimum, write down your own questions before you go so you don't forget. Also most drs will spend longer with a patient who is prepared with questions.

I'm in my 30s and would absolutely want to know if my parents needed help with medical issues. I would be upset that I wasn't trusted with that info. But, you know your kids and yourself best.

Are there cancer support groups?

I’ve been in the hospital since yesterday. I’m having a hard time typing on my phone. Plus WiFi is not the greatest. I should be home Monday. Will try to update when possible.

Oh, Sue, 

I wish there was something we could do for you.  My son is around the same age (19) and I have no idea how I would be able to start a conversation about something like this.  I'm hoping like hell that it all turns out to be benign, but if it isn't, that it was caught early.  Take care of yourself!

Quick update. I’m slowly learning how to use my phone on boards, but it’s slow going.

I’m still here, the Drs didn’t like my blood test s, so they ordered more meds with the hopes of doing the procedures tomorrow.

Kids are staying at the house about 15 minuets away. DD has school and work; DS has school and football practice. He was moved up from JV to varsity Friday.

I don’t mind being alone as I’m used to it and it’s given me a lot of time to think. I do miss my “puppies “ though.

Still no biopsy, hopefully tomorrow. My INR is too high and they’re afraid I’ll bleed too much. So I’m being pumped with vitamin K for the second day in a row. If that doesn’t work, they’ll give me something to help with the blood flow, but that has its own issues. (Med people help me out with the layman ‘s terms).
I’m starting to wonder how many more veins I have left to draw blood from.

They did remove another 2 liters of abdominal fluid, so that that’s 4 liters in a week.
