I'm still settling in to my new place, including playing with the scheduled temperature changes from the previous owners. woke up shivering this morning, with this guy trying to burrow under me to warm up himself. he's cozy now 🥰 too bad I need to get up soon.

NBC evening news today had a piece about this doctor. Too soon for the video to be on YouTube to view or post here. But found this CBS piece from several weeks ago about this doctor.

My dog buddy made me laugh (not an unusual occurrence). Her mom (her favorite person in the whole world) was away for a few days, and she was clearly feeling very needy. When she was let out to greet me when I went to get my mail on Monday, she kept stopping every few feet to have her tummy rubbed. She did this all the way back to my house, too. It took a long time to get my mail as I simply do not have the heart to refuse her request for a tummy rub. Her mom is back home now, so we're probably going to be back down to the regular 2 or 3 tummy rubs per trip to the mailbox.

This is their “we know how much you like to stack firewood so we help by taking it off the pile and hiding it in the field” face. Now if I could just train them to put it back on the pile....

They are good boys!
Silly me, I'm thinking of getting a puppy...... I have a dog but he is starting to have problems hiking. He's not that old but he's struggling, he's 7 now. The other dog is my DH's and I'm not that bonded to her.

Just saw this short clip. It was part of a longer Youtube video of people walking their dogs.

looking for some tips, please and thank you. I've taken the footstool that used to be in front of the bay window and put it next to my bed, in the hopes that the golden would figure it out. how do you nudge a middle aged pup toward a new tool? it isn't totally foreign, just a little dusty from the summer being packed up. I'm at a loss. I've actually climbed up to my bed like she would, with her watching me. she wants nothing to do with the process.

While laying down, get the dog's attention and pat the footstool to encourage her? Treats on the floor, on the footstool steps and then on the top of the bed?

If you wanted to PM me your address, I have a set of doggy steps for my dog before he passed that I would give you.

I just need to figure out how to get her to use it again.

That's great news! If snacks doesn't work, then maybe her favorite toy? Have you asked your other dog to show her how to use the footstool again? Never underestimate the power of peer pressure.

When my dog buddy came out to greet me at the mailbox today, she brought a squeak toy with her. She loves squeak toys. She is a virtuoso squeak toy squeaker. She comes out to see me to get her treat and a tummy rub, but she was stymied by the squeak toy. She did not want to stop squeaking it and definitely did not want to put it down. It took a bit of persuading, but the sight of the treat finally made the decision for her. When she opened her mouth to get the treat, the squeak toy fell out and then apparently disappeared from her memory while she ate the treat because immediately after that she was demanding a tummy rub and then had to be reminded that she had dropped her squeak toy so she didn't leave it behind.

No masks-no social distancing. I love it, but do we know whether dogs can pass Covid to other dogs? I know humans can pass Covid to both cats and dogs. Also, it was informative to me (the video) that all the retrievers were eager to be in the pool, but not so much the two German Sheperds I noticed.

Does she want to get onto your bed, or does she prefer the couch? she looks up at me when Im laying in bed like she is considering it. I'll usually get up and offer 10 fingers, so to speak, but by the time I walk around the bed, she's flopped down on the dog bed on the floor.

Putting this here since its cool, and I don't have time to watch it now. The course looks cool and I watched the very first entry go through it.
