Has anyone eaten frozen dinners like lean cuisine or weight watchers to lose weight? I know they have a lot of sodium in them.

They are usually around 300 calories, and I need around 400 calories per meal minimum to keep me until the next meal, so I'd make sure to add a salad or something with it.

My biggest amount of food I need to eliminate is bad snacks. That's where I have no control and that is what is adding to my weight.

Had my zucchini and meatballs. Ruined it snacking on entertainment crackers and port wine cheese while waiting for the zuke to cook. had to chuck the rest of the cheese out. Back to square one. Again.

I really want to take a karate class and see if I can get into that. I'm trying to get dh to do it with me. I know the kids would like it.
I was talking with my doctor that statistically those who keep off a "large amount of weight" long term are those who exercise for 45 minutes a day (or 300 minutes a week). Walking/biking with the kids is fun and it's better than nothing, but it isn't aerobic and I'm not doing anything else right now. I keep meaning to get back to my kettle bell workouts too, but that hasn't happened either.
Total I'm down 29 pounds from March. Which is good, and I'm officially under the obese bmi which was my first big goal. It's still hard and I still have a long way to go but I'm really trying to look at the journey not the destination, blah, blah, blah.

I had three good days in a row regarding calories. Today, not so much. I'll try again tomorrow.
I , too, want to lose 25 pounds although by the end of April.
Let's keep each other accountable for exercise and good eating choices!

Question: Does anyone own and use a Nutribullet?
I have been contemplating buying one, but I am not sure its as effective in making healthy smoothies. So far I have just made smoothies in my KitchenAid food processor. They come out fine, but I dislike washing the entire bowl and lid afterwards.
So anyone have experience with the Nutribullet? Do you like it? Would you recommend it?

That's where I have no control and that is what is adding to my weight. aside from my slip up last night, I find that planning my snacks helps me overall. I have pretty much all my food planned today. I had a banana-plain yogurt-peanut butter-flaxseed-milk smoothie for breakfast. I am having coffee now (unplanned but with sweetener and cream it's only 42 cals). Lunch will be a doozy, so the planned snacks are an apple, a cheese stick, and red pepper strips. I may not eat all of them (hopefully I don't!). Dinner will be a salad of spinach, hard boiled egg, and light balsamic vinaigrette.

I do Recommend that one, however haven’t I used a nutri bullet for comparison. The vitamix is on sale right now at Costco. We’ve had ours for ten years and use it almost daily.

I don't, but a guy I worked with made smoothies with his all the time and they looked pretty good. I want one too.

I'm actually surprised how good the ingredient list is. Like, it's pretty much all food. The sodium doesn't seem too bad either. I get pretty much exclusively the Lean Cuisine Marketplace items.

I have mostly the Weight Watcher's Smart Ones and a few Amy's. I will have to check the ingredients.

If I could keep from snacking I'll be a lot further ahead instead of pretty much where I started this year. And if I'd exercise regularly I'd be feeling downright skinny now. Instead I just pop in here to see how everyone else is doing.

I may or may not have asked this, but what's consensus on waist trimmers? Some say they're fabulous and others say no way should you sweat that much. What say you all?

I think that they make you sweat a lot, which just makes you thirsty/dehydrated, and as soon as you rehydrate any slimming effect is lost. Total unscientific opinion

(or your smoothies are like 4 oz)

Despite the last two weeks not being great, was still down a pound at WW today! I'm not sure I'll make my goal of 10lbs down by Christmas but I can try. Need to start cooking at home again more and meal planning and getting more walking in, my steps haven't been great..

Boxing is a crazy good workout and it's aerobic. I need to get back to it, but I haven't been able to stay away from Zumba. What about a spin class? What kind of stuff do ypu like doing?

I like everything, except maybe running, although I'm trying to like that at least a little bit with ds. I want something we can all do as a family so I'm not taking anymore time away from the kids and finding a fun activity with dh would be good for us. Hiking has always been our thing but our work schedules make it really hard to do regularly. I think karate would be good because even if we're in different classes we'd be starting at the same level and working on the same skills. They market it as a family activity. Some places have the classes set up that we'd be there at the same day and time, and even the rec centers have the classes set up back to back. One of my boss' did that with his wife and 3 kids a few years ago. They all earned their black belts together. I doubt we'd stick with any one activity for that long, but if everyone liked it, it would be fun over the winter.

I feel like I've lost all motivation. I've been going strong ALL summer/fall, but I woke up this morning and was just like Nope, not happening. I'm done.
What gets you through when your motivation takes a hike? How do you get it back?

I know all the really good reasons I should be active and lose some weight, I just can't care enough to stick to it. Long way of saying, I have no clue.

I was doing okay a year or so ago, but I’m just not into it anymore. Except at like 3 in the morning when I can’t sleep and I have all theses great ideas to motivate me and get back on track. I don’t act on them then because I’d never get to sleep. When I wake up the next morning, or come home from work, it’s a big nope.

Honestly, I have serious body image issues that keep me motivated. I believe that I need to be a certain weight # to be acceptable.
Right now, I feel like I'm on the verge of the unattractive spectrum for DH. That's my main motivation.
My secondary motivation is that I'm the fat sister. That annoys me. Seeing my youngest sister this fall has helped me be motivated. (She lives in South America, so I don't see her often.)
The tertiary reason, which should be the primary reason, is that I know I need to be healthier. I don't want to be unable to live a full life in my retirement because I didn't take care of my health.
I did really well from summer 2013 - Valentine's 2016. Then, I launched DD#1. It was incredibly emotional for me, and I ate my way through 2016, was cognizant of the weight gain by the beginning of 2017, and finally faced it this summer. I've not gained weight since summer. I'm at a slight loss right now, but I'm certainly not consistent.
It does help that DH joins me in exercising. He doesn't always join me in calorie tracking though.
