Finally broke down and joined weight watchers again. Goal for 2018 is to lose 30 pounds. I should come up with a step goal as well.

Got back to my workout today, and it felt really good. Also shoveled the snow at my mom's place. Supposed to have a good chunk falling overnight, and I can't depend on my DB to take care of it, or much of anything else, for that matter.

Good for you, chen! WW has worked well for me, when I stick to it. I was actually back down again at weigh-in today, probably because I could barely eat over the weekend due to the daggers in my throat every time I swallowed. Going back at it hard next week, 25 more pounds to drop to be back to pre-baby weight and I want to do it in 2018.

I need to drop the 10 or so pounds I put on over the holidays. Time to get it together. I have been starting to eat better. Just need to keep it going.

I spent a few hours making some food for all my meals tomorrow and a few mini pizzas from my diet plan. Eating healthy takes a lot of prep work but I am giving it my all. I am not really concerned with the number on the scale so I am going to try to lose inches along with weight in 2018. All the food on the diet plan through my hospital is food that I like and easy to make so that helps.

Anyone here use fitbit? I got a fitbit alta and a smart scale that works with it for Christmas. I'm loving it so far, and hoping it gets me motivated again. I had a cold and then the flu plus some medical restrictions so I haven't been active except for 2 5k races I did since mid October. Mentally I really feel it. I have a bad attitude at work and it is creeping into my home life. When I worked out daily I was much happier. I'm off work tomorrow and plan to go get fitted for running shoes. I've never done that before, but always wanted to. I'm also getting a programmable coffeemaker. I gave my old one away a few years ago because I was doing french press, but I found I make excuses for not working out in those minutes I'm waiting for the french press to finish so I think if I have coffee waiting on me when I come downstairs it will help. I'm also going to go back to the gym to run. The treadmill is easier which I don't want, but I don't live in a neighborhood with good street lights plus with the col d I'd rather do the treadmill than nothing.I I've had a real one since the beginning of November and a generic one since spring of 2016. I enjoy the app that the FitBit provides. It's helping me stay accountable far more than the generic one did. We have a step challenge for our little group here. Let us know if you're interested.

I've eaten horribly this week, but I've managed to get to the gym most days. I've not put on any weight these last two weeks, but I've not lost any either. I'll take that.
I'm hoping to stay ahead of flamingo in steps, but she's sneaky!
Can anyone start the 2018 thread? Jaguar, are you starting it again this year?

No chance of me beating you this month Knee Deep in Water Chloe. I woke up with a migraine and will be lucky to get any steps in today. Which is a bummer, because I had high hopes for this three day weekend. Happy New Year, everyone!

I'm interested in the step challenge for sure. I forgot how much it is to walk 10k steps. I was in the airport and walked around a football stadium on friday, and just got 9.5k steps. I was tired too. Guess that shows where I am starting from, huh?

I think I'm going to make my 2018 fitness goal a 5 minute plank and 50 pushups. I'm sure it will take me all year, but I think I can do it.

I just set it up that every 2 hours my computer will tell me to do the PLANK! It actually will play some guitar chords, and when I hear those it's do those planks!

So, the past month or so has been a little crazy for me. DH was in school to get his captain's license and I worked a ton and helped him study. He graduated earlier this month and then we had 10 days of holiday travel and I injured my knee and hip. Now that life is settling down, I am ready to really focus on Me! I am competing in a Shred competition through gauge girl training that starts tomorrow. 6 weeks where the focus is on very specific macro and caloric intake. I am doing photos and measurements etc. tomorrow and am excited to see what kind of progress I can make. The key is prep... staying on top of meal planning (the meal plan is purchased... but you can go rogue with substitutes as long as the macros fit)
It cost me some money that I didn't really have lying around to spend... So DH is going to help me stay accountable.
Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday and has a great new year.
P.s. for those of your who had relatives making comments about food and weight. I commend you for not spitting the food you were chewing directly in their face... that's what they deserved.
