Also, apropos of nothing I am wearing a little capelet that came in my LeTote rental and heeled boots. All black. I feel like a space dominatrix. perhaps if you'd leave your whip at home... Stop with the sass or I'll have to punish you.

Pants you make me want to swim so bad! I should try to find an appropriate bathing suit and give it a shot... I love swimming and I'm sure doing laps would kill me (in a good way, like I'd be sore the next day lol)
The other problem is finding a time to do it... for the next month I have Monday afternoons I could do it, maybe some Tuesday afternoons. Although weekends I could see if my parents could watch my bugger for an hour or two for me, since the Y I prefer is down the street from them.

Anyone have advice on a good smaller sized treadmill I could look into getting? We have space in our den for a treadmill, I just want a small one so it takes up as little room as possible. It can be simple, all I'll do is walk at night or take the occasional pathetic jog, so it really doesn't have to be fancy. Any good models, brands etc. anyone has experience with? Thanks!

The downside of reading at lunch is that my book has totally sucked me in and made me unwilling to stop and go exercise before getting back to work. Someone yell at me. At least I'm all out of chocolate at work so I can't add calories.

Where do you get bathing suits to swim in? (or anyone else?) The last bathing suits I've gotten have been from VS or Athleta, and I'm not spending that kind of money on a one piece to do laps in that may (hopefully) not fit me for more than a few months... Also - I realized I can get my $150 fitness reimbursement from my health insurance this month or next, and put that towards a treadmill!

If you order a suit that fits now it will fit for a while - i'm still swimming in my size 16 suit from last year and my boobs haven't fallen out yet. It was right when I bought it now it's loose, but NBD. Just google the size-to-inches conversion for each brand before you purchase. Expecting my new speedo soon - off to track the package!

Weight down a little bit. 171.8. Not as low as I would like, but not bad considering I lost all self control over the holidays. Ok. Maybe I never had self control.

I wish I could get this last 10 pounds off. This whole weight loss thing might go faster if I'd start dieting and stop drinking. But who wants to do that.

They have some really good sales occasionally. I also got a nice one at TJ Maxx before, because I'm a bargain shopper. That's really hit or miss, though.

Marshall's has a decent selection of bathing suits for $25-40. If you will be swimming in a chlorinated pool, look for suits that are chlorine resistant so they will not fade.

FYI, just found a speedo on Amazon with prime shipping for $22.
Glad you motivated me to check on my swimsuit - they canceled the order because they sold out and so it's not coming. Had to reorder a different one. Oh well.

I swam again last night (that makes 3x/week, 2 weeks in a row, woot!)
Better overall, felt more in rhythm, but yikes am I sore today. It was only a beginner swim but featured butterfly (I managed one entire length but people were looking at me concerned I was drowning) and sprints.
Got on the scale again this morning and whined about how I haven't lost any more weight. Despite the added exercise, I'm stuck at 58 lbs lost and I can't seem to lose those additional 2 lbs which would put me over the 60lb threshold. I'm slightly embarrassed about how much I feel like I need the emotional milestone.
I know I'm getting healthier and building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat and blah blah blah but man I wish the scale would go down!

Pants, can you concentrate on how you look and feel after the weight loss of 58 pounds? Feel good about what you have accomplished!

I never even learned how to do the butterfly. <-- not the best swimmer. I need to get my kids into swim lessons one of these days. Maybe they'll teach me the butterfly in a few years.

I love swimming, but I'm so blind without my glasses that I swim with them on so breast stroke is the only "real" stroke I do anymore. I feel really uncomfortable in such a big place being so far away from my glasses and the worry that someone could take them or break them. I should try to get contacts and swim in those again with goggles.
And--@pants 58 pounds down is amazing!!! But I get wanting that next milestone. You'll get there.

Or prescription goggles. huh...I'll have to check those out. I'm a scuba diver and I know they make prescription scuba masks (ask you aren't supposed to wear contacts due to pressure and salt water). I would assume they have something similar for swimmers as well although they probably cost more than contacts.

Pants, can you concentrate on how you look and feel after the weight loss of 58 pounds? Feel good about what you have accomplished! Missed this. I do feel better and look better (although still not 100% comfortable with where I am at.) Now I'm more or less at my equilibrium weight and I will really have to work to get to where I want to be and I'm frustrated that the pace of weight loss has slowed.

Or prescription goggles. huh...I'll have to check those out. raeoflyteTry these. Some of the best money I've ever spent, and I wish I'd known they were this inexpensive before. I hadn't been able to see underwater in over 20 years. I'd forgotten underwater wasn't just a bunch of blurry blobs. I'm going to Hawaii this year, and I'm buying a prescription diving mask for snorkeling like Pants mentioned. They are only around $50 on Amazon.

It has been 5 weeks since I changed my diet. I have done absolutely no exercise. Today I am down 7 lbs. Hoping that the when the weather changes and I get back to walking the weight will fall off faster.
