sarcasticgirl: Yes, we moved in December. To the mountains. Which in theory is great, b/c we like to be outdoors and will hike and such, but it's been rainy and cold since we got here. I'm having trouble getting used to driving again. Just walking to/from work got me half way to my step goal for the day in Chicago! It'll just take some getting used to. I mean, I've been here for like 5 weeks. I'm probably putting a little too much pressure on myself at this point to have it all figured out. Just give it some time, you will develope a routine that works for you. I can't imagine having to drive every day again. That is one thing that keeps me planted here. The chicago commute is good for the steps, that is for sure. Sent from my SM-N920T using proboards

You can hang out with my DH in the Sears tower gym. He's calling 2017 "the Swollzening." Don't ask. Ha! How does he like it? I am supposed to go for a tour next week. I'll be on the treadmill or elliptical watching netflix lol Sent from my SM-N920T using proboards He likes it a lot! He's going again today. He loves that he can just take a break from work and do a quick workout and move on with his day.

Just maintaining my weight this month. I've been sick for nearly 2 weeks, and exercising seems to dislodge whatever makes me want to cough. Still trying to do it at least every other day. Still not tracking my calories. Focusing on decluttering my house, and apparently I'm not capable of doing both at the same time. I am meeting the very modest step goal on my Garmin more often.

Well, I've gone from zero to 60, as last night marks my 3rd night this week swimming. It's so hard to get started, I just need to stop STOPPING, because once I get started I remember how much fun it is and how good it feels and I just want to keep doing it. And I feel like it helps with my posture somehow? Probably because the day after a swim I'm very aware of all my back muscles, lol.
Although I can barely move this morning, so, tradeoffs.
I've also seemed to reach some point in weight loss where I've let loose the compliment train. I get at least 2 people a day at work who tell me that I look great. I guess the magic number you need to lose is 57 lbs, who knew? But really I know that it's because I'm back into "regular" vs. "plus" sizing, so now I fit back into the mold of what women are permitted to look like. Stupid society.

I'm confused regarding the freezer. We have a full-sized, standing freezer in our garage. What do you mean mini-freezer? Like a mini-fridge size? Mine was about the same height as the chest freezer and not quite as wide. There were 2 shelves and a basket on the bottom. The plastic on the inside of the door cracked so it didn't hold the seal in place and had to be defrosted pretty dang regularly but it's still going. Just not at my house anymore. (last I saw it was sort of bungee strapped to keep the door seal tight)

My parents had a freezer like that, and it used so much electricity that they quit using it and gave it away. They're probably more efficient these days, though.

Mine was older than dirt and I'm sure it made the electric bill higher, but it was so nice to have and not constantly have to dig 4 feet down to find stuff.

But he goes during the day rather than before or after work. Probably makes a big difference when you show up. ETA: Also can we mention the insanity of a dude who works in the sears fucking tower going to a gym IN THE SEARS FUCKING TOWER to walk stairs... That is all.

Definitely don't need to go to the gym for that. I've met my step goal the last few days. Food isn't horrible. Still need to incorporate workouts though. I'm making an appointment with my ENT. I'm so damn congested 24-7 that breathing is hard.

Our first full freezer was my parents' because they didn't need it anymore once all the kids were gone. It was definitley not energy efficient. It was older than I am, and it died about five years ago. Our new one--which is now about five years old--is energy efficient. I can't pleasantly fathom not having a full freezer in addition to the fridge/freezer combo that's in our house.
In other news, I finally got around to googling "do birth control pills cause weight gain". Damn internet told me no. Time to acknowledge that I need to get a grip on my food choices.

We live in a 1BR 1 BATH condo. Luckily we have just over 1000 sq ft... no room for an additional full size appliance, but we have space for the mini freezer and a mini fridge (beer fridge) in our large dinning room. LOL well, at least with the stairs machine he can just stop whenever he wants. If you do stairs in the Sears tower, you're forces to go back to a floor where you have entry! What floor is he on? I will be on 38. (Confident that,I can run down 38 flights if emergency happens) our attorney floors are in the 80s (no thanks!) Sent from my SM-N920T using proboards

Weekly check-in:
Did 180 flights of stairs Got to the gym three times (though I kind of half-assed one of them) Weight 105.4 (I'm adding more fat this week)(also need to do something about slow elimination, to put it politely) All that meat and cheese isn't conducive to staying regular.
Just an FYI, I got a pair of Champion Freedom workout capris at Target. Most comfortable workout pants ever! I need to get another pair.

Just did a killer swim. It was supposed to be 1800 meters - at least that's what I wrote at the top of the paper. Well oops, I added the sets up after and it was 2200. I hope it partially compensates for the deep dish pizza I ordered on Friday and ate for 3 meals in a row. Swimming makes me hungry!

Weekly check in
Missed step goal by over 10,000. Low steps combination of working late and not feeling 100%.
Did okay with eating during week. Not so good over weekend. Weight up a little.
This week's goal is 72500 steps.
Keep up the good work and have a great week everyone.

I've been cheating a little (a cookie here and there untracked), but overall the WW is going well - this morning I'm down 3lbs from last week when I weighed myself. I think the effort to eat more lower calorie and veg/fruit snacks is helping, and also just being conscious of how much I'm eating. I did pretty well over the weekend. Those 3lbs I feel are always subject to just come and go, so let's see how good I can be with the eating and hopefully it'll continue to slowly drop.
Got some decent steps in, not 10k any day but 9-something yesterday and it's adding to my fit points nicely. I'll exceed the WW fit points goal every week probably, even without getting 10k steps a day.

I just walked to an inspection instead of driving. This house is somewhere between .5-.75 miles from the office, so not too far and got me a good walk! Figured I'd take advantage of the "nice" weather while I can (38ish, sunny, no wind), I'm hoping to do this more for walkable appointments when the weather cooperates.

I've only had it for a couple hours but so far it isn't. My toes tap a bit, although I think I might try to get a higher desk chair to stop that. Its the inMotion e1000. Got it for $80 from amazon.

I am just thrilled to having a standing desk.
we are moving to such a small space- my coworker will literally be less than 6 ft. away from me.

The good news about being horrifically out of shape is that everything is a workout...
Took the kids to the pool last night, mostly playing, a ran around the wave pool a dozen times, snuck away to do 8 laps and omg...
I'm not going to lie, I really want to be "skinny" again. But being overweight and a weakling is just awful and I must fix that. If I can't lose weight I have to at least get my strength and stamina back.

Well, it finally happened, I had a totally crap swim last night. It happens occasionally, I just couldn't get my rhythm right. I knew in warmup it wasn't working, so I abandoned my planned workout (which included, *gulp* butterfly) and just swam straight freestyle laps as long as I could. Gave up after 1000 yards. Oh well.
Ha, I was bitching to DH though that I've been swimming for a WHOLE WEEK AND A HALF NOW and I don't see any difference at all in how I look or feel. We both cracked up for a while over how ridiculous that is.
(It's also true. Irrational and dumb but true.)

Also, apropos of nothing I am wearing a little capelet that came in my LeTote rental and heeled boots. All black. I feel like a space dominatrix.
