I am 5'4.5"... I have huge hands (comperable to 6'+ man) and I wear a size 9 shoe. I don't think I have ever taken a quiz that asked me about it.
What kind of quizzes are you taking?

It isn't fair that I am not much taller!

We had an ice cream social at work today....at noon. So I ate the ice cream first (a SMALL bowl) and now i'm trying to eat my actual lunch. I'm working out after work today, so I can't survive on just ice cream, but my real lunch isn't very appealing.
Also, now that I've been working out after work for the last 4 weeks, I can't believe I spent 7 years getting up early to work out before work. I tried to do that yesterday due to my schedule and it was a disaster! I'm still feeling sleep deprived!

I'd much rather go in the evening.

I need suggestions on what to say when people comment on my weight loss. Something that is polite, ideally indicates that I am okay, but also signifies that the conversation is done. I lost a similar amount of weight before I had dd, and I had good luck with responding to any kind of weight comment with, "Thanks, I feel good," and then asking them something about them. I will use that approach too, but any comment bugs me right now and I've had some persistent people lately.
I've been trying to give people other things to comment on -- I had lasik, then I dyed my hair, I've worn a lot of dresses over the summer. I was planning on waiting another 5-10 pounds before cutting bangs and layers, but I may try to move that up.

I find turning the convo back to them works best. "Thanks, I'm doing well, how is your son/dog/job/garden/car/hobby?"

If someone asks you if you've lost weight just say "no I just had my hair cut" I went thru this after my divorce and when folks asked me how much weight I had lost I would reply "195 lbs of man" Don't know what kind of comments you are getting though so just handle it the way that makes you comfortable. I tend to go with humor but that's just me.

I think it is so rude to comment on weight, loss or gain. I wish people would just say something like "oh, you look great", and leave it at that. Vague, complimentary and polite.

Since I bought a new Fitbit I am trying real hard to stay active every day. I don't know if I will get to 10,000 steps tomorrow on the first day of the month since I will just be cleaning around the house but I am going to try. I also started using myfitnesspal today to track my eating since that is where I fail at. I really want to lose 20 lbs but it is very hard.

You ladies are so motivating to me! 👍 Thank you! A lot of it is two hours per weekday of volleyball practice. That ends mid-October, so we'll see what happens then!

Tripped over the dog while carrying a hot cast iron last night and through out my back. Missed my 5k this morning. Having problems walking Pissed AF because I had just gotten my step count back up.

sarcasticgirl - hope your back is better soon!
I've not tracked steps this month BUT I did finally get my pedometer synced up on my computer and now that I'm done with Whole30 for October, I started tracking calories on My Fitness Pal. Dinner with friends tonight so I'm hoping for more time outdoors walking around and good options at dinner.

Weekly check in
Steps goal was 65000 hit that goal. Missed stretch goal by less than 2300 steps. My weight is creeping up. Need to get eating under control.
This weeks goal is 75000. Stretch goal is 80000.
Going to work on no stress eating and getting enough sleep.
Have a great week everyone.

Thanks everyone! I alternated between working on the tight muscles and relaxing/icing my back all day yesterday. I can walk without looking like i am waddling but things are still stiff and a little painful. I brought my hot/cold pack to work with me so I can keep that going throughout the day.
I am bummed that my steps were under 3k yesterday. I've already passed that today since I came to work, but i realize I have to take care of myself in order to not hurt my back further.
Focusing on Core and back stabilizing exercises at the moment! Recommendations welcome!

YOGA!!!!! Lots of forward folds, pigeons, happy babies, triangles for your back. Boat poses and planks for your core. Feel better!

Hello! Hope everyone had a good weekend! I had an out of town visitor (Angel!) and walked all over on Thursday and Friday; I think all the walking offset the eating and drinking. Yesterday was my town's inaugural 5k and I was able to alternate walking and jogging without pain! I am so excited! First 5k since April 2016! I did it slow and smart, finished in 37:35, but hubsie was the 2nd place male overall. He finished in 20 minutes flat. Winner (friend from our run club) finished in 17:22!
I have my second to last PT appointment tonight and I am going to tell my therapist that this is it. Give me a back to running training plan, because I am going to work on that for the fall and winter!
