Yesterday was low step day. Hoping today will be better. Have a Terrific Tuesday. Me either. I have been a bit overwhelmed with checking on family and friends during Harvey. Spent time trying to help connect people so they can get out. And I am PMSing which really doesn't make things easier, mentally.

I missed 20K steps by 600 yesterday. Ugh. I don't know if I'll be able to do it again today, but I should at least break 400K for the month of August.

Woot! I'm at 405K and I have 2 days left! I was hoping to make it to 450K, but that's not going to happen.

Gimme credit: I FINALLY did a thing!
Short 10 min circuit of full-body exercises. Probably 50 or so squats, rows and butterfly kicks. Not much, but I did it. The hardest part is starting, right?

The good news: I found time to exercise today
The bad news: my hairstylist had to cancel today and tomorrow, as she got her appendix out last night. I might have to go elsewhere for ODS, as his hair has a mind of its own, it's getting long, and his school pictures are a week from tomorrow.
More bad news: weight is up--No more Olive garden! Grrr! Couldn't find the good, low-cal thing I got last time. Is there anything worse for you than noodles and a bunch of cheese?

Yeah. It could have been fried. The other day I had a corn dog, jalapeno poppers, and potato wedges for lunch. It was an "all things fried" day. I think one day of pasta and cheese will be ok.

Yeah, good point about the fried--and I had grilled cheese last night. Doh! I got the make and take, which is a good deal, but I had 3 days in a row of badness. Weight's back down a couple pounds this morning--whew! Still, I'm never going to get anywhere if I keep doing this shit.

I'm going to end up around 370K this month. I think September I should be able to break the 400K mark, especially if I bother to wear my watch on the two days a week I don't run.

I'm not doing a step challenge for September. I'm going to work on my core and building up my arms. I'm hoping to get them built up to the point that I can just maintain by the end of September. If not, I'll extend it another month without step challenges. I need my upper body to match my lower body.

OOO I like the idea of a step challenge. I'm doing some new goals for Sept so I hope you don't mind if I check in here and track with you ladies! Goals for Sept: 1. 30 days of Whole30 - strict no cheating 2. Gym workouts 5x a week, at least 30 min per workout 3. Take the dogs out to the park every day, at least 15 min 4. Cut out caffeine to find out if it helps me sleep better I might tack on a step goal of 100,000 for the month. It's not so much that I don't walk but I don't remember to put on my Garmin and even 3333 steps a day is a step in the right direction.

I'll leave stuffed, for at most half the calories of the rest of the table. the salt, though? oy. I make a knockoff recipe I found online, with fresh veggies and almost no salt in it. so fucking tasty. but in a pinch...

I've been kind of eating like an asshole this week, and it shows. I'm up a few lbs from current base weight, and I just feel puffy and not right. there was one morning this week that I was up 7lbs from current base, eep! my birthday is Saturday, and since I work 2nd and live over the bridge on Cape Cod, I took tomorrow off. Tuesday, too. I have a friend coming in from PA on Saturday, she'll be here til Tuesday. I expect nothing good to come from this weekend as far as the scale and my waistline are concerned. but, I can minimize the damage some. for tomorrow, I'm planning to make zoodles out of the zucchinis I bought last weekend. I still have a turkey breast tenderloin from the package I bought earlier this week. I can braise that, and make zoodles "marinara" for a healthy meal tomorrow night. the rest? will just have to do some damage control next week when I return to reality. the good thing though - today, I went for sushi at lunch, was craving it badly. I also figured I could get some noodles for a few bites at lunch and to take the rest to work. well now...... this place's rice noodles? and b/c it's a gluten free dish, it's not soaked with heavy sauces like most Chinese dishes. definitely doing that again. tomorrow though, pups and I are hitting the dog park for at least an hour and a half. I have to touch up paint a few spots in my LR/DR and want to give that time to dry. so I'll throw the pups out back and crank that out, then take them out while it's sitting. we may take in a walk too, if I can ever fall asleep tonight. I'm still cranked up.

Well, I got over 400,000 steps this months. And I didn't do too bad this week on vacation. It was nice to spend the week with my mom who likes to walk. A lot. My food was decent. Not great, but not terrible so I'll take it.
I am am so glad I planned this mother/daughter vacation to end right before Labor Day weekend. I need a few days to recover!

The previous time I went, they had this chicken dish that wasn't too bad with mashed potatoes and big chunks of garlic. I didn't see it on the menu this time.

Need to get my leg muscles back into shape so my knee will tolerate more activity. My pulmonary doctor wants to see if more cardio helps.

We (this thread's participants) do our step challenge on the app Stridekick. Let me know when you've downloaded it, and I think I can invite you. Otherwise, sarcasticgirl can invite you!

Thanks Chloe! I am having issues with my Garmin connecting to the computer to download steps so it might be awhile before I can join. Sometimes technology just makes everything more difficult!
Only Sept 2nd but goals are going well so far!
Goals for Sept: 1. 30 days of Whole30 - strict no cheating (2/30) 2. Gym workouts 5x a week, at least 30 min per workout (1/21) 3. Take the dogs out to the park every day, at least 15 min (1/30) 4. Cut out caffeine to find out if it helps me sleep better - (1/30)
Sunday evening update: I keep forgetting to put on the garmin but I did use it when I went to the gym tonight. I didn't have much time because they close early on the weekends but I did 3 miles on the bike, 100 sit ups, 50 squats, 2 minutes of planks and then cleaned up by putting away everyone else's equipment (I was the only one in this area).
Otherwise I did meal prep today so salmon fillets are cooked, yams, squash and riced cauliflower for the week ahead. When it cools down a little further I'll also cook up some carrots and chicken sausages.

Ugh. I'm clearly not soliciting my will power. Although, it's 200 calories below last week's total, so that's good.

You're doing better than me. I probably have over 1700 calories in me already today. I really need to start eating better.

Went on a nice hike at an Audubon property with a friend yesterday morning and got 13k steps for the day, which is great for me! Not so great: got my sneaker caught on a freaking stump, couldn't detatch and went right down on my one arm and shins, with the baby on my back. Neither of us could remember me ever falling hiking before, and I used to hike with this friend all the time... my shoe is ruined and I have the biggest bruising lump on my leg that kiiiiiills. The poor baby cried for a minute, but he was just startled/scared, he didn't hit himself on anything thank god. Ugh, so stupid. Happy to be getting some more hiking in though, I really miss it, used to hike in NH all the time. It's good for me and the baby to get out more, and now that he's walking it's fun to take him outside, let him explore stuff and get dirty and learn how to walk on uneven ground so he can hike with me someday.

I have too many doctors appointments in September, BUT in October it gets normal, so I'm starting back on doing my plank, breathing & strength exercises. I need to get stronger. I am doing a wee bit now, but not enough.

On the step challenge, can we enter steps manually? I have gone back to work after July and most Of August off, so I'm wearing skirts and dresses. That means I can't keep my phone on me most days. My generic Fitbit doesn't sync with Stridekick. I was going to switch my settings to manual entry, but I can't verify anywhere within the app that it's set to accept manual entry. Here's today's steps based on the generic Fitbit.
