Even though I feel fat and jiggly this is my 9th day without a soda so at least that is a plus.

Weekly check in
Missed modest step goal by around 3400. Weight is okay.
This week's goal is going to the same as last week 50,000. Try to keep stress eating in check.
Have a great week everyone.

It's been a rough month. My DH and I have been fighting over stupid things, people at work are driving me crazy acting like we are all back in high school, and I just can't get into a routine fitness wise. Today is the first day in 2 weeks I don't have a headache and all I want to do hang out at home by myself. UGH. What is it about the holidays that makes the crazy come out in people?!
Good news is that at my doc appt this past Friday, my weight wasn't up like I thought it would be. So at least I'm managing to maintain.
I hope everyone has a great week!

Bad, bad time of year. Been sick for two weeks, baby is sick for two days now, had a party Sunday and ate all the things and I've munched on homemade Chex mix for dinner the last two nights. up two pounds in two weeks at WW today, and eating a delicious (and free, YM points?) lunch right now from the offices downstairs of pierogi, kielbasa, pasta salad, and lasagna right now. Tomorrow's another day I guess.... ugh.

Well pooh on her and a pox on her first born if she has one. I was half giving her a hard time because we had to move my files out from behind me where all I had to do was turn around in my chair. They are still about 6 feet away so not much of a hardship. I still would have taken it if she said ok.

Weekly Check in Merry Christmas
Missed my modest step goal by 1619.
I am not getting on scale until next year so no comment on weight.
This week's goal is 50000 steps with a stretch goal of 5500.

I haven't exercised much since the beginning of the month, but as of a few days ago, my weight's been good. I'm probably just losing muscle mass, but I'll take it. I don't even want to know the damage the last 2 days of goodies has done. Got a couple new batteries in my Garmin, so I'm all set for another year with that. Back to the exercise routine tomorrow.

If you're so inclined, go back to the beginning of the thread (or where you jumped in). Did you set goals? Did you meet those goals? Did you change your goals and meet the new goals?

Just saying hi. I tried to stay with this thread last year, but I obviously failed. I'm my highest weight ever not counting pregnancies. I started taking birth control pills last February to regulate me cycle and help with my facial acne. Between that, launching our third child, and DH having a mildly life-altering accident in late August, I put on ten pounds last year. Most of my clothes are now tight--including my bras. (Sorry, Ratchets , but yes I do think you should post here.) I certainly don't want to buy all new clothes.
A few new tricks I'm hoping will help me be successful this year:- wearing a (generic) fitbit
- not eating after 7pm
- working out in the morning before going to work
- drinking 75 ounces of water each day
My current weight is around 145. I haven't weighed since Wednesday morning. I'm 5'4". Well, this is depressing--LOL!
Let's see from this post, I didn't actually lose any weight. Between this post and July, I'd actually put on another five pounds. I have since lost that five pounds and dabbled a bit below 145 albeit not consistently.
We are much better about working out in the morning prior to work; it really does make our days easier.
Seventy-five ounces of water each day is not happening. I've tracked it sporadically over the year, and 50 ounces is a good day with 35 being the average.
I do have a real fitbit now. It's much more thorough than my old one. It does help me stay focused.
I'm glad I maintained the starting point since the alternative seems to have been weighing more.

Last year was not good as far as weight. Instead of losing weight I gained. My year goal is to lose 20 pounds. Get 3.5 million steps. First thing I need to do is stop the gain. This weeks step goal is 70000. Starting weight 177.2 Well time to get in some steps before work. I should get my 3.5 million steps. Need less than 20000 to hit this goal. I stopped the gain but did not lose.

My goal for this year is to average 80,000 steps a week and maintain my weight. And not stress eat due to my new job. I've done a good job with my steps and maintaining my weight. However, it's pretty easy to meet a goal when it's WHAT I WAS ALREADY DOING! I could have at least TRIED to make it a stretch goal. Ok, I'm going to think about what 2018 goals I want to meet. I am sure I can come up with something.

I know I didn't actually commit to any goals in this thread. Goals were too scary and made me too likely to give up. I achieved my 2 unofficial goals of losing 10% and getting under the obese marker. We'll see if I can commit to real goals next year. I have to focus on activity levels--at least 150 minutes a week. And I want to hit a 24.9 bmi so I can officially be not overweight, at least once a day most days.

I’m too lazy to go back and see what, if any, my stated goals were. Which is probably a really good indication of how I did health wise this year. 🙄

I finally weighed. I figured it would be easier to track my 2017 progress. I'm at 177, goal will be to come in around 150. I think it's pretty realistic. I also don't want to be skinny. Curvy is just fine by me. Zumba was crowded, but not terrible. We'll see what tonight looks like. I never did get to 150 and I've accepted it. Lowest was 158. I'm back at about 166, but I'm chalking some of it up to the holidays. Now I've got to get to work to get back to where I need to be!

I was also reading that cycling will help my quest for a booty, so I'm going to try a spin class. There is one that starts 6:00 and Zumba is a 6:30. I could do 20 minutes of spin class on those days instead of the elliptical. We'll see how that works out. Usually the seat is so uncomfortable I don't want to do it. We have seat covers at work. I'm going to have to get one and see how it works.

Since I am in an entirely new city I no longer have access to my old gym. They don't have a branch nearby, the nearest is 15 miles away So now to the pleasure of finding a new lace which suits me and has the classes I enjoy - primarily Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Barre etc. I am going to rely on this thread to keep me accountable. So I am in for 2018!!

Anyone here use fitbit? I got a fitbit alta and a smart scale that works with it for Christmas. I'm loving it so far, and hoping it gets me motivated again. I had a cold and then the flu plus some medical restrictions so I haven't been active except for 2 5k races I did since mid October. Mentally I really feel it. I have a bad attitude at work and it is creeping into my home life. When I worked out daily I was much happier.
I'm off work tomorrow and plan to go get fitted for running shoes. I've never done that before, but always wanted to. I'm also getting a programmable coffeemaker. I gave my old one away a few years ago because I was doing french press, but I found I make excuses for not working out in those minutes I'm waiting for the french press to finish so I think if I have coffee waiting on me when I come downstairs it will help. I'm also going to go back to the gym to run. The treadmill is easier which I don't want, but I don't live in a neighborhood with good street lights plus with the cold I'd rather do the treadmill than nothing.

I think I've mentioned the health coach thing we have going here at work. I had an appointment with them today and I'm down 3 pounds from our visit 2 months ago. I have no idea how, I certainly haven't been behaving.

I just started wearing my Charge 2 Fit Bit again today after a long lapse of ignoring it. I've found Fit Bit online just now and it may be part of their upgrades, but I put in how much weight I want to lose and do I was easy/medium/hard etc. I chose door @#2 for medium.
So far I have entered (honestly) all the food I've had to eat today including what I have planned for dinner and I still have about 350 calories available to eat before bedtime.
I'm hoping my new found enthusiasm will help get to really get started. I'm attempting to actually start all things in my life new and fresh as of Jan. 1, and losing 40# is part of the clean up and organization. I'm 73 now, have a couple of heart conditions an bionic knee and 40# over weight....no running but walking for me, I take my lunch 3 days per week that I work, and with some new found determination I/m looking forward to some improvement.
You go bobosensei!!!

I was thinking about getting a bike once it got nicer and taking one of the twins at a time to run along side me. I figured it would exercise us both. Then I have visions of one of them seeing a squirrel or something and running to try and catch it and taking me down. I don't heal as fast as I used to.
