I know for a fact that many people voted for her because she is a woman. I saw it on my own FB. Several people that were replying to a very liberal friend's post said they are using their vagina and voting. I questioned them and they admitted Bernie fit their criteria better (again, these are very liberal women) but they are voting with their vagina.  I told them I vote with my brain and not my vagina. And then there is the PantSuit Nation who just focused on the fact that she was a woman. 

So yes, I do firmly believe that a lot of people voted for Hillary just to put the first woman in office.  Not everyone obviously and maybe not even the majority, but there are a LOT of woman who wanted nothing more than seeing a woman President.  Heck, even the thread on here about Pantsuit nation was just a bunch of women high fiving each other for voting for a woman. 

We can agree to disagree on who was the least worst candidate (because that's what I saw this election, voting against the lesser of two bad choices) but I won't agree that people didn't vote based on gender.

I've said for many years that I would love it if we had someone willing to run our economy like a business.  I'm excited to give a business person a chance to turn this sinking ship around. But I will also admit I was wrong if he totally blows it.

i think that our country should be run precisely the OPPOSITE of a business.  i think running it like a business would be a complete disaster.  here is why.

during a downturn, what do businesses do?  they pull back their spending and wait it out.
what do they do during expansion?  they spend money in an attempt to secure turf.

if the government behaves like like a business, it will deepen contractions and increase bubbles, which is precisely the OPPOSITE of what creates stable economies.

furthermore, businesses are fundamentally top-down authoritarian.  they do not rely on legislative bodies for checks and balances.  there is no judicial system within most corporations.  they are, effectively, dictatorships.

so, if you are saying that you are excited to live in a dictatorship that exaggerates business cycles, i think you are insane.

and if not, what precisely is it you are saying?

This was during the primary. Two admitted they preferred Bernie (ultra liberals) but were voting for Hillary because she was a woman. One used the phrase "voting with my vagina". Many people DID vote for her solely for that very reason. YouTube is awash with "Why are you supporting Hillary Clinton?" videos where the people interviewed answer "because she's a woman"... some videos even showing that the people being interviewed don't know anything about her other than that.

It's understandable, maybe I would have too if I was a woman.  If I was black I probably would have voted for Obama.  That doesn't make it right, and it also doesn't give folks a free pass to yell "racist!" or "sexist!" when they are doing the thing they are yelling about others doing, just the other side of the coin.

Not all of those folks at rallies in Nuremburg long ago were really active in the happenings of the camps and round ups but their attitudes and participations in other ways definitly didn't put up ant road blocks to what was carried out...same in some ways here too..we'll have to see how things work out....hopefully we stay a land of rules, of legal happenings  no matter what those now in power may want....also what some supporters ..see here too...might want to see as far as over looking those laws and rules...

i think it is predictable.  people tend to vote with candidates that they can either identify with, or that share their positions and values.  the less time a person has to engage with a candidate, the more superficial that identifying becomes.  when you boil that down to the nut, reduce it to the extreme, they vote for people that look like them.

i am not saying it is GOOD.  i am saying it is natural to do this.  particularly when faced with otherwise equal choices (bad or good).
