I liked the sesame chicken. All my breading fell off but that was chef error with my $#@%&+!* ceramic flat top stove. I swear it's the devil's invention. I just want a gas stove. I made her ribs too over the weekend. I think I added too much liquid but they turned out nice and tender.

the ropa vieja? I saw that, and printed it, AND the corn salsa she paired with it. I think I'm going to need more pages for my recipes binder.

It was the slow cooker chicken taco bowls. I did add a can of corn based on her recipe and I served over rice at dinner that night. I might add the spices next time.
At least yours are in a binder, mine never made it that far.

I'd like to keep that. anyway, roommate bought a large binder and sleeves, and deposited it in the middle of the kitchen counter haha.

so I got home to find a stuffed chop ($1.50 instead of ~$1 for a plain one). I browned, then baked it uncovered. I was going to pair it with a bowl of salad greens, but tomorrow is trash day and I had a package of Buitoni ravioli that expires this coming weekend. so I ended to pairing the stuffed pork chop with a few spinach and artichoke raviolis, dressed with butter/EVOO/crushed red and parmesan cheese.
a) the two did not pair well AT ALL. b) I'm not sure how much of my dislike of the raviolis was bc of the bad pairing, or bc I just didn't like them. if my roommate gets to the leftovers first, I will but another pkg when they are on sale and give it another shot.

I made everyone else stuffed shells. I sautéed myself some chicken and veggies with a little red pepper, lime and honey.

I have one more meal of beef stew then it's a new meal. I have some pork chops I want to do something with. I'll have them with yellow beans and mashed potatoes. The chops are pork loin cut into chops. I'll probably bake them and serve them up with apple sauce I have that I want to use up.

I just never make it very far in sorting them into categories for the binder. In fact there's also a binder in the same not started state at my fiancee's house. Maybe that's a 2016 goal

We forgot to take the chicken out of the freezer. Today might be my usual Friday free for all (eggs, sandwich or whatever you want) and Thurs/Fri will be grilled chicken, rice, various veg.

Going to have to look at the baked falafel. Always in the market for new veggie recipies.
I have made 2 new recipes in the last 2 days: spinach, tomato egg muffins (too bland) and cream cheese squares (too sweet). Neither were winners, will not be repeated and have been removed from my computer. I think I can do something w/the egg one: different veg, more seasoning, cook in silicone pan. I am almost afraid to try the chicken recipe I clipped yesterday.

lunch cream cheese squares. Cost 1.06/serving. dinner tuna salad plate. Cost 0.65

We had last minute teenage guests (not enough leftover chicken and not enough time to make something else), so we had takeout pizza last night. $44 for 6 including 4 teenage boys. Ouch. About half of a pizza left.
Tonight I will magically transform the leftover garlic Parmesan chicken into chicken Parmesan (what? You were expecting something more creative? LOL).
Big salad, steamed broccoli, garlic bread for sides. Cost, $45? with generous leftovers (or enough to feed any guests),

I am still job hunting, so saving and using leftovers is very much a part of the plan.
DH is having pork fried rice, make from yesterday's leftover pork loin, vegetables and rice. I will scramble an egg into it as well.
I am finishing up chili and noodles from Wednesday night's dinner.

I'm heading straight from work tonight to my roommate's earlier-than-normal show that's literally on the way home. I'm told that the food at the venue is awful, so I snagged an extra slice of pizza from the company-sponsored pizza party just now. I'll have that with a strawberry shortcake probably around 630 before heading out.
cost to me - $3 - can of Redi Whip $2.49 - 4pk of bakery biscuits (I have one, will likely use half) $0 - fruit needed to be eaten or tossed. $0 - pizza

lunch chicken kiev (fz), sweet potato, roll, salad. Cost about 1.55 dinner leftover cream cheese squares, marinated green beans. Cost about 1.26
I needed to revise my dinner plan for today. I realized a bit ago that every meal contained 1-2 eggs. I changed breakfast to waffles w/berries. I found 2 ½ lb of ground beef in the freezer I was unaware of so defrosting ½ lb &I will make tacos for lunch (probably defrost more to make meatloaf or Salisbury steak next week). That leaves just my leftover egg mufins as eggs today (dinner).
I NEED to go digging thru my freezer to find the pkgs of chicken breasts and sliced mushrooms I KNOW are there.

I'm trying to use down our freezer a bit, so, today is a test kitchen day. Al Fresco chicken sausages (B1G1 w/coupon, and sale) $2.39 Green pepper/red pepper/onion mix: 1.00 Roasted potatoes $1.50 (est) Salad: $80 (lettuce is a killer these days) $4.89 (without salad), probably four servings = $1.22 per serving. Will use for lunches during the week. Tomorrow: Pork Roast $5.30 (using full price, purchased B1G1, still have one in freezer) Wild rice $1.20 Apple sauce: $? Salad: $.80 Probably carrots: $1.00 Again, around four servings, but will be used one night for leftovers, balance of roast will be re-purposed probably into a pot pie)

I had dinner at work one night this week and then it was pork chops and last night was snack foods like smoked muscles, cheese, pickles. Tonight is honey garlic chicken, wild rice and yellow beans. Chicken $2, rice $0.50, beans $1. marvholly your cost per serving is impressive. I just can't get there.

Last night I made pizza, and the leftover will be lunch today. For dinner, I made a batch of chicken noodle soup, and will make homemade bread with it. (I've been on a homemade bread kick....trying new recipe tonight)

going to try to clear out the fridge some this week before roommate and I leave for vacation. my mom will be staying here with the pups all week, but I'm going to buy fresh groceries for her for the week. no idea what dinner will be tonight, will have to survey the fridge a little later when my entire household is awake. that's not a job that can be done quietly, as the pups like to "help"
