Just straightened the house this morning. DH went and got his mom and aunt from assisted living. We opened our presents, but mainly watched DD open hers, she had a ball. I bought her a lot of things from Five Below and she loved them, so she got a quantity for not much dollars. Then the characters from Alice in Wonderland, items from her brother and SIL, and from dad. I asked not to have him buy me a bunch as my Christmas was all we have spent on the motorhome. He got me cologne and its the kind I really like, I got him a Bore scope he can used.
We had pizza for lunch, then cake and ice cream, everyone was pleased with that, I wasn't particularly, but it was easy.
The day went well.
We got on Skype last night and watched our little grandson open his presents but he is still to little to know much about Christmas, next year should be really fun.
Merry Christmas to all

It's chilly and rainy here today. Dinner tonight will be homemade split pea soup made with leftover ham from yesterday's holiday meal. A good way to warm up the house and us!

A big batch of chicken primavera over whole wheat spaghetti. I used up a lot of odds and ends in the process.

Boiled a package of cheese tortellini, cooked a package of broccoli and cut up an apple. Cost $6 and I have lunch for tomorrow.

I think the roommate is going to do up a stir fry tonight. I'll just have to mix up a batch of base sauce when I get home. cost? whatever I spend on veggies today. that could run as high as $10 if I'm feeling feisty in the produce dept. but it will feed three of us, so I'm okay with that.

Put a salad together and baked a frozen pizza. Cost $4.
I also put a salad together to go with my soup for lunch tomorrow.

Scored a bunch of meat deals before Christmas, so tonight I made a yummy Angus sirloin roast with homemade mashed potatoes, steamed green beans, and a big salad with a ton of veggies.
Cost? $53. But the roast -- $45 -- was almost 6 pounds which will give me the protein base for a couple more dinners and lunch meat for a few days for my men with hollow legs.

I made a huge pot of turkey-chicken noodle soup. Delicious! No idea of the cost.

We had fried cabbage, corn, barbecued meatballs, DD's request, and biscuits, was pretty good. I mixed onion, home canned salsa, Italian cracker crumbs, egg, and taco cheese in them, then baked then transferred to a corning dish, added barbeque sauce and baked about 10 more minutes, was pretty good.

Tonight I am thinking of doing a veggie & barley soup.

I'm baking a pork chop in the oven and making mashed potatoes for me, myself, and I. I offered to cook dinner tonight and suggested pork chops. DH asked if I would pick up salmon for him instead. That's $6+ for just his entree. Two HUGE butterfly pork chops was only $4, and we would get two meals out of them. Then he decided not to make it tonight.
He better eat it! Lol.

We ended up having a big lunch while in the city, DH, DD, and I met up at Lowes and got the countertop for the motorhome then went to our favorite barbecue place for lunch. We ate so much I did not fix dinner tonight. Finally I had a bowl of cereal and then some oranges, don't know what everyone else had. I was working out side in the motorhome.

It was the request of Holly last year that this thread be locked and a new one started. I'll carry on her tradition.
