I just got stopped by a traffic cop. Nice guy. Really. I know there's no u turns on Oak Grove, Citrus or any of the other side streets off Oak Grove. But there's a small side street where I've never seen a no u turn sign (business area, not residential). And I did one. Needed to. Apparently I just didn't see the sign. Let me off with a warning.

Dh and I spent the weekend socializing with good friends. It's nice to know we have some really good friends in our relatively new area and it's fun to not always hang out alone!

That's awesome Pat.
We had one of our better vacations this last weekend.
And I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving.

I had a great time at Martini Monday. I missed my DS and DIL when they visited. They don't visit that frequently.

DD convinced her kids that we cannot do Hannukah gifts. Grandma (I) will do her (my) own thing. Just money & black friday shopping spree So this frees up cash and got 3 tags at Starbucks. Will play Secret Whatever to 14 yo boy (Warriors tickets), 13 yo girl (not the one asking for iPhone and iPad. .. the one asking for a sweater + Starbucks card), 5 yo boy (wants minecraft toy) Found 2 large jar candles at CVS on closeout (discounted from $10 to 59c) so 1 to sis for inviting me to holidays at her house + 1 to DIL's mom

I mailed DD a box I know the town is only about 25 miles away but she likes to get packages. So I sent her warm jammy bottoms Christmasy with a black tshirt and a Christmas sweatshirt she will be thrilled.
Then sent DIL new silky long underwear, she had showed me she still had some I must have sent her 10 years ago and they were well used. I also have some beginner baby food to send and tomorrow I'm picking up some Merle Norma makeup for her, she had liked it when I got it long ago and you can't buy it unless you go to a shop, cannot order over the net. I also sent her some big rollers, she is wanting to roll her hair. I sent my son one of those old corning ware coffee pots and he liked it for the office, he said his is leaking around the band, I have a second one and am sending it too he likes things like that.
While in town got a pizza and brought it home.
Talked to a friend that is up from Texas, she will be by sometime.
Spent most of the day trying to line up medicare coverage, I did get my D scrip coverage in place, thanks to some help her from my internet friends.
You guys are the greatest, you "listen" to all my whining and I appreciate it
The kids got me an 8 X 10 of the family picture we had done and also some wallet size for us. When they get here to visit one day we will get one with hubby and DD in it too.
I love my little family and that makes me happy. I'm so glad you did that!!! What a fabulous idea!!! Well worth the trip!!!

My aunt who had double masectomy is doing well and her husband the caregiver is also. My other aunt in the rehab facility is also doing well and not fretting at all over her Alzheimer's husband, which is even better. I haven't seen my other aunt yet because she's dealing with her husband AGAIN. They are strong women, they get that from their mother, my grandmother. Which makes me wonder what happened to me? But I'm doing better as well. Not totally having a panic attack over having to buy a car now.

I hope so. I don't want to spend the rest of my life depressed and freaking out over making decisions. I raised two kids on my own, I held a job, I paid bills, I CAN do this thing called LIFE.

So far, it IS a good day. Got the outdoor Christmas stuff up, got the snowblower running and shoveled everything that needed shoveled with the 'help' of the kids. They dragged their sleds out too. They're rather bummed that there isn't enough snow for igloo though.

We've got a steady snow fall going. But since the ground isn't close to frozen, it's not going to last. And I think they're reporting temps back in the 40s by Wednesday. But the kids were super excited about any snowfall.
One of my cousins has shot several turkeys this year. Along with deer. I've got about 20+ lbs of vension in my freezer now with rumors of bear meat heading my way. I have no clue what to do with bear meat but I'm willing to give it a shot. I will cheerfully pass on the turkeys though. I'm told they're tough and not very tasty.

I have enjoyed this Saturday. Tidy the house then made chicken alfredo pizza for lunch. A dusting of snow on the ground and cold.

Watching a flock of fat little chickadees bathing in a pool of water backed up in the street made me unreasonable happy today.
We're in a rain/snow/freeze/thaw/freeze cycle and the roads are awful and dangerous. All the storm drains are frozen over or clogged up in that area so there's standing water everywhere on a few streets. Those little birds didn't have a care in the world and seemed ecstatic to have some water to play and bathe in. They took turns standing on the curb then jumping into the water before bouncing out again. Cute little buggers!

I had to have foot surgery yesterday. My son took the day off but worked on his laptop as much as he could, transported me to the hospital, stayed there with me, got prescriptions filled, and basically doted on me. He's the only one of my kids in town, so the brunt of caring for me falls on him. He did it without complaining. I love all my kids, but I am especially grateful for his help.

Dad had a spot on his back turn black so he and Mom went to the doctor for removal and biopsy. Stage 0 for cancer. But they decided to remove a bit more of the surrounding tissue and sent Dad to the surgeon. Surgery was Tuesday and now we're waiting for confirmation that the tissue is normal. Dad's doing great. Mom is too. My crowns are in and done. Next appt is Jan. for some fillings. I've been doing Christmas shopping and am happy to be looking forward to that holiday.

My friend brought me a branch with a hummingbird nest in it from up north. We searched for one up there this summer because I had never seen one before but couldn't fine one. It's really cute with fine fir needles on the inside and lots of birch bark strips on the outside. I put it in a vase with little twinkly lights on the branch . So sweet- both my friend and the nest.

I tied 2 fleece blankets for my great grandsons. One is on the way. I hid them deep so DH cannot find them, gift them, and embarrass me when I come up short.
