I'm happy that I got to drive, briefly, on the freeway with my window down and Nine Inch Nails on screaming loud yesterday. It was gorgeous. Then I went to the dentist and had 3 temporary crowns put in.

I met two good friends (one yesterday and one today), that I haven't seen in 40 years. It was fun. I probably wouldn't have recognized either of them, if I had just walked past them in a store. People change a lot, in 40 yrs!

I wrapped my feet to prevent the plantars from being inflamed. I wore knee supports to keep them from being sore. Both worked to wake up today with zero problems in those areas from the hike yesterday. I did get one blister where I missed putting antiperspirant to reduce friction.

Well Dad had been sick so his dinner out did not happen. What was great though is he showed me the rough draft for his online dating profile for when he decides to try online dating.

Over a year ago a friend of mine's wife was having a baby. Our tennis group took bets on what day the baby would be born. He was born on my birthday. He's now one year old. What is it about babies that light us up? Or maybe, it's just me.

A friend of mine and her H did not get pregnant easily. Then finally baby # 1. Baby #2 took quite some time, but finally came. They were very happy. Then at the dr with her h who was in for a check-up after pneumonia, and was told to be home for another week to stop coughing and get rested, they joked that it seemed to be good for fertility to be sick, since her H had had a bout of sickness in the fall before each kid.
The dr did some quick thinking, and asked when the children were born, what the h had caught the first times and when, and on hearing Lyme disease times two, kindly recommended them to make a pregnancy check a.s.a.p. They now have three kids.
(The h probably had, and likely still has, a very low-grade chronic infection of the testes which greatly reduced his fertility. The tetracyclic antibiotic treatment made him fertile for some time when he was treated against the Lyme disease and pneumonia.)

On that same note, a friend told me her friend always said, darn that train. That's why they had so many kids. The train would wake the H. A child followed. And then there are the blizzard kids!

I had the day off. Last week I mailed my brother (not computer-savvy at all) a print-off from a military website. The website listed places that would give veterans some freebies today. He lives on a fixed income (disabled, with some disabilities military-related) and loves to eat out but can't afford it often. I sent him a note with the list, clipped a $20 bill for tips to the servers, and thanked him for his service to our country. He was pretty excited when I talked to him yesterday. I hope he ate to his heart's content today (plus got his oil changed for free). I had some furniture listed for sale on Craigslist. Today, someone looked at it, didn't even dicker on the price, paid me in cash, and loaded on their truck and drove away. I also picked up a check from the consignment store where I had another item placed for sale. Hurray! I'm feeling lighter in "stuff" and heavier in the "wallet."

I'm happy that we have a workaround for the problem with my work software and the vendor is also working on a better fix.
I'm happy my daughter isn't sick and that we had lunch at The Cheesecake Factory before I took her back to school.

I'm glad I took a mental health day off from work. I stayed in my pajamas all day! The animals seem confused to have me here all day, but too bad.

For the nice thing: I am getting totally out of control with Xmas shopping for DGS and I am having so much fun with it. So wonderful that I can afford it

(most of the time) Nice, that you are able to both afford, and enjoy Christmas shopping for your DGS. I got my car inspected, the emissions testing done and the tax and license paid today. I'm all legal for the coming year. zoom. zoom.

I am happy that I am over my horrible wedding server experience and am interested in baking this weekend. Plus it is the the best weather for not going out. Tons of rain and wind and some snow up in the passes. We need all of that.

I have the best one nice thing ever, even if it is tied to a horrible event: our fellow poster and friend Debt and her family (who live in and near Paris) are safe! I'll drink to that --- for real once I get home but for now this'll have to do:

I've noticed that people say things like thank you, sorry, how are you, and other very common expressions as nice things to say but don't really mean them. What I do is say I appreciate your help in exchange for saying Thank You or I apologize in exchange of saying I'm sorry
