DH got a new job! He starts at Omaha Steaks next Monday.
I was able to sucessfully isolate RNA, a lot of it and good purity. So that part of the experiment went well at least.
The mouse I was waiting on was nice enough to not give birth until last night, which meant she was well within the window for me to do what I needed to do with her pups. Not only that she had ELEVEN babies and is taking good care of them. I did a happy dance in the mouse room this morning.

Hoping to hell that I never have to write I have done a happy dance in the mouse room, but I know my DDIL would totally relate to that, and I appreciate what you and she are doing to advance medical science.
I have a bunch of doctors and specialists retiring, including my PCP. I hate this! (Always choose doctors who are younger than you, FYI.) I had a meet-and-greet with my new doctor and we are on the same wavelength. I had some reservations but I think we are going to do just fine!

Last week, took all the Comcast boxes back and told them that there's a problem with my bill, so they left me 1 hdtv receiver and lowered the bill $25. Today discovered I need 1 more. So I got their smallest box ($3.99) & he lowered my other box by that amt so it's still $91 inc tax instead of $116

I love my new pajamas too!
The pants have sheep on them. The tshirt has a lamb on it and it says (small) BAA HUMBUG LOL
Not too over the top Christmasy. Subtle.
I laid in bed, moving my legs to feel them, the other day. SO comfy!

I'd rather be doing a happy dance than having a temper tantrum. I tend to have a lot more of the latter b/c animals have their own minds/biology which don't tend to line up with what I desire.

I'm getting some chores done. I have an inspection on Thursday. My doctor has finally returned from maternity leave. Doctor refilled scripts, even though she wasn't around when they were originally prescribed and I haven't seen her yet. Overall, not a bad day!

Noticed my bedspread was looking worn at the head. But I always folded it down there and dn find a replacement I liked at 4 stores. So I went to DIL's today and she removed that portion. Looks great.

Since March 2 I've been living with my mother. I moved out of my house, filed for divorce but couldn't find any decent place to rent. Mom asked me to come stay with her. We get along great. We've both had some big issues going on for this past year and it's been good for us to have each other to talk/vent/cuss/cry/whatever it is on any given day lol! I pay rent so it's a plus for her, too. However....I need my own space again. I've had a deposit on a place since September. New construction, perfect location, etc....Move in date was to be mid-November. FINALLY, at long last, I have an appointment to meet the landlord Sunday after work to sign final papers!!! Two weeks from now I will hopefully be all moved in and ready to start with whatever comes next! I'm so excited! And since I have my priorities in order---first room to be fixed up completely will be my sewing room. And I'm getting out all my sewing toys and playing!

I love that it's only a matter of time before I get a new job and can quit the sucky one I have. 2-3 interviews next week.

It's flipping awesome that I've got my family binder and mom's picture from my niece and nephew. I'm hoping that they find the CD then everything is roses with me.

I think it's nice ( or maybe sweet) thaty 7 year old dd has a crush of sorts on Josh Gates.
It may be a nice thing that I'm home with the kids today but I'm not positive about that yet.....
It's definitely a nice thing that I'm doing a spa thing with a friend tomorrow.

I have the day off. It's sunny and ridiculously cold. Good day for house cleaning because I can see where the dirt is.
Step One: Take down the Christmas tree...

3 good things:
Contractor is here replacing fan with a quieter one then I'm off to a haircut. I have way too thick hair
Pm: it's amazing how fast I can clean the house now that it's decluttered
Also almost finished chair ... need to construct cushion & back (but back is in 4 painted pieces)

My pud/pad thai was really yummy. I tried a new to me place and will go back. The fried calamari wasn't bad either but had cooled some by the time I got home. I realized on the way home yesterday that I hadn't had breakfast or lunch yesterday. No wonder I was so hungry!

Like most women in their 30s my daughter is a busy person--job, husband, children--and she rarely has time for herself. Last night she called me to say she was asked to cover for a sick co-worker today, which is her normal day off, and in return the coworker will work for DD on Friday--giving DD the day free. She said the first thing she thought of was, Oh good! Maybe I go to Mom's and we can start the move in process for her new house. Then she called and asked if I wanted to do that. (Bonus, she will be bringing my youngest granddaughter with her!). I think it was so nice of DD to give up her day off to come help me start getting settled, especially since she will come again the next day, too. (And on that day the oldest granddaughter will be there, too.) I have good daughters (#2 lives 1000 miles away so can't help with the move) and I appreciate what good people they have both grown up to be.

I had a bottle of wine in my cupboard. I realized I could open it with my new electric wine opener, and take my old one to work for when "there are just days like that" and the old corkscrew is a POS. Decluttering, too, you see...
Enjoying a glass of wine at home now.

In keeping with the drinkey messages. I am so happy that a friend introduced me to St Germain Elederflower Liqueur. Who could say no to an artisanal French liqueur derived from freshly handpicked elderflower blossoms that are bicycled to the family extraction plant for processing. And the bottle is so pretty too!

I bought my DD Inside Out movie yesterday and didn't tell her about it until today. She saw the video, gave a big smile, told me: That's what I always wanted. Thank you Mommy. I love you! and proceed to give me a great big hug!

Went to Gasparilla yesterday. The weather was nice, the parade was long, and I had a good time.

I am moved into my new place finally!!! I just love it. Right now it still looks like a moving van blew up in here but eventually I'll get everything put where I want it.
I got up to start work yesterday and my hard drive had crashed. (I work from home with an online company. A computer is definitely necessary.) I took it to the repair store today and they can fix it for a very reasonable amount. I'm glad I've got the money to pay for it without stressing over it.
And....icing on the cake...I have a friend who sponsored me for a grant for the course I'll be starting soon. She called today to tell me I've been awarded about 55% of the cost of the course! That really made my day!
I know that is 3 things and not just "one nice thing" but I'm feeling blessed these days.
