Had a lovely brunch with family I have not been with in awhile. Great food and fun catching up!

It really was too funny Had family breakfast this morning, all 12 of us. Then DS did dishes. We're all relaxing in the family room when all of a sudden DS marches a very guilty GS3 (2YO) + GD3 (also 2) into family room .... apparently they got ice cream out of freezer and were sitting in entry hall eating it with spoon rest + wooden spoon

My late parents' first grandchild, my DB's oldest DD, got married yesterday. It was a fabulous, fun, family, night. One can never have too many happy events in one's life.

I bought birthday gifts for the coming year. Oops, I told GrD I wasn't buying them this year. Won't she be surprised. I even made a monthly list of who gets what.
On thing, 3 additional comments.

Gave a bunch of stuff to goodwill. Going through my closet (reorganizing) tonight. Then I'll give some more stuff to goodwill. Neighbor said she couldn't afford to buy her (grown) kids anything for Christmas, so I gave her some things I think know they will like, to give them. I love giving!

We passed on an almost new Minion sleeping bag to Mom's neighbor, for her 5 year old grandson. I think she was going to gift it to him for Christmas but he wandered into her bedroom, saw it and promptly ask if it was for him and started sleeping in it that day. The neighbor loves getting my son's hand me downs because they are all her grandson's favorite characters ninja turtles, dinosaurs, minions, etc.

I was pulled over for speeding yesterday.
The traffic cop was a gal who looked about 17 years old. She informed me that she was body-camed, told me that I'd been clocked at 41 in a 30 MPH zone, and asked for my license but made no request for registration or proof of insurance (which I didn't have). Then she returned to the car, gave me back my license, and wished me happy holidays. No ticket.
You'll have to choose the one nice part of that for yourself.
FWIW, I grew up in places where any traffic stop in the month of December was a bribery attempt. This was the opposite.

I got an email about an opening for parking closer to the building I am in. I'll go from seven blocks and a 15 minute walk to right across the street. I'll turn in my current sticker on Monday afternoon so I can start parking in the new lot on Tuesday. It's miserable weather out right now I am not interested in walking down to my car to get my sticker right now.

I saw my niece today and she loved the present I gave to her.
I taped the gift receipt to the back. She asked her dad what it was. She said I don't want to return this.

We got $600 from my in laws as a Christmas present. That brings our ef back up to a grand so while I am still worried I am not in panic mode.
The money from them we get every year. What blew us away is when DH talked about being unemployed his brother gave us his $300.
We were speechless. DH said he really needs to reevaluate his opinion of his brother.
So that is $900 of snowflake money into our emergency fund when we need it most.

DD went to Harry Potter for her birthday. Yes, she's 27 not 7!! But I didn't have to go so that's nice. Plus, she really wanted to do that's nice.

One nice thing is that my 7 year old dd seems to be getting braver. She's spending time alone in her room and not asking for someone to be with her all the time.
