We saw Green Hornet with Seth Rogen! horrible.....? maybe well it started out as horrible and we almost stopped it - but we eventually laughed at a few parts + I didn't know Cameron Diaz was in it so that was my motivation to keep watching she was funny but towards the end it just got really stupid where I just had to laugh over all I'm glad I didn't pay to see in theaters......and I don't feel I wasted my time watching but I still wouldn't recommend it either

I got three movies from Redbox over the weekend: Contagion, Drive, and Abduction.
Contagion freaked me out a bit but darned if I know why. Those types of movies usually don't bother me - I actually enjoy a good (and often bad) apocalyptic scenario movie. And after seeing the end, if I ever get to meet a chef before I eat what he fixed, I'm definately going to be sure to wash my hands before eating. Although I'm not sure even that would have saved Gwyneth from infecting all those folks.
Drive - I didn't get 20 minutes into it before I stopped. I've heard it was decent but I'm sorry, if you don't do something to keep me interested after 15 minutes, I'm through.
Of the three, I enjoyed Abduction the most. I'm not a Twilight fan so I got it more to see if young Mr. Lautner had any talent beyond showing his (very nice) abs. Having Jason Isaacs in it helped but I have to say the storyline was actually decent and the ending left room for a sequel cuz you never actually see his father.

"The Way" Martin Sheen directed by his son Emilio. Awesome spiritual movie (maybe son Charlie should see it!)

Contagion freaked me out a bit but darned if I know why. --------------------- I'll tell you why. Unlike most other apocalyptic films, this one didn't have all the end-of-the-world scenarios typical of the genre. No roving gangs of rapists/hooligans/zombies. No airplanes falling out of the sky or spectacular special effects. It was realer than real, and that's what freaked most people out. It was played out exactly the way it could happen, and most folks left the theatres feeling somewhat disturbed.

I saw the movie What's your number tonight and it was pretty good not exactly funny throughout - yes it's a comedy / love story
I also saw things about how I talk to my x-best friend in this movie. so that gave it more of a liking for me as well.

We think the oracle will lead us to the bow!
well this line needs a bit of explaining. I saw this movie in theaters twice (1 w/ Brother and 2 w/ GF) surprisingly at both times with brother and GF we were laughing our asses off during the same scene because Hyperion was killing all of the messengers that gave him bad news! so this one messenger was the first to live when he gave him bad news BUT finished it with good news! Clever!

Saw Raise of the Planet of the Apes glad I didn't see in theaters - BUT it's a good movie to see and I didn't see how the ending was possible? BUT glad it ended the way it did.

DRIVE was so fuck'n horrible!! I thought it would show some pretty awesome driving moves ....maybe some fight scenes. you know along the line of The Transporter movies? NO! this movie was slow, boring, ONLY TWO drive scenes, WHAT! the rest is Talk - Talk - talk! it's definitely a movie I would have thought was made straight for DVD! NOT - mainstream movie theaters! LOL - hell even if I caught this movie on DVD I STILL would be upset I wasted my time!

Saw Raise of the Planet of the Apes glad I didn't see in theaters - BUT it's a good movie to see and I didn't see how the ending was possible? BUT glad it ended the way it did. I think what made the ending possible is seeing that the virus is being spread around the earth and creating an epidemic that will wipe out the majority of the human population. If there were no adverse effects to humans, then no, the apes going off into the redwoods (?) woudn't have worked because realistically animal services and/or the government would have hunted them down, killed them all, and prevented them from being around to reproduce and potentially take over. But also, to really understand the movie, I think you do have to have some knowledge of the original movies. I was just a kid when I saw them but I still caught the space flight going missing and other references to the originals.

Looking forward to The Hunger Games next weekend! I am really looking forward to this movie as well even though the plot seems a little demented to me - children fighting to the death and all... I didn't read the books but I will definitely watch this film.

I just saw Get Smart I remember watching a few episodes of the TV show as a kid but I don't remember the episodes - if that makes since? I do remember watching the cartoon as a kid and I did like that!
But this movie - pretty much straight face throughout - wasn't funny to me

The Hunger Games was OK, if you take into consideration the target demographic. For a movie about kids killing each other, there was surprisingly little violence....it was all "implied", rather than shown. I rather enjoyed it, but my companion didn't like it at all. (But then, his interests run to the prurient. And car crashes. )

I loved Hunger Games. And, it isn't a movie about "killing kids" as the media tries to portray it. It is a very moving story about Good versus Evil. About being in a terrible and the most difficult of circumstances and having the odds against you and being triumphant while maintaining your dignity and who you are. It is a very good movie. One of the best i have seen in a long time. And, Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss gave an incredible performance. She maintained the tension of the movie throughout and you did feel as if she was fighting for her life and felt the gravity and weight of the circumstances on her. Well done.

What I'm saying is that this movie is clearly geared towards the tween set, as are the books. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it.

Watched the last movie for Smokie and the Bandit tonight; part 3. Guess it was ok but not really sure? maybe kinda sad? it basically did all the same situations in part one. but this time it was the sidekick from part one taking the lead. so that's the sad part. Do sidekicks want to be in the spotlight?

Right now i am reading The Hunger Games books. First time i have seen the movie and THEN read the book. But, i am glad i did. I really thought Jennifer Lawrence was great as Katniss and reading the book now makes me appreciate some of the subtelties of the movie that i missed when i first saw it. And, i think the movie stayed very true to the book. I hope that is a cue for film makers that when we read books we really enjoy, we want to see them interpreted in a true way.
