If I wanted one of those build able tan moisturizer/lotion...what brand would be recommended? Definitely thinking on the light side.

I like Neutrogena, but prefer the spray tan because it blends better and looks more natural, for me, anyway.

Need a dress for grandson’s wedding in July I’m tall, 5’7” and 140 lbs Looking at dresses and getting no where Seeing a lot of MoTB dresses with lots of lace- too dowdy?? Straight Sheath? Or swing skirt?
Do most wedding guests now wear long? Or short cocktail dresses?

Jerseygirl, I think your style of dress is gonna depend on how formal the wedding is.

Found my white jeans from last summer and they fit! Today supposed to hit 90 for first time this year. I've never owned white jeans before, but I bought a pair a few weeks ago at costco. They have a leaf/vine print on them, so they're not completely white. It's brazen for me!

I'm going to a formal wedding in late June. I almost bought this dress for it, but it was way to much cleavage for me.
I chose this dress instead.

Bought a pair of white parachute pants. Fabric is crispy not silky or heavy. Like the way they fit , weird that these are a style now bought a medium green same brand and size and they are huge Think the white pair with a linen blouse will be good to wear in a few weeks Seems there were 15 racks of different kind of parachute pants

I have given up on waxing my chin. I bought those dermaplaner things. I'm nervous.

I chose this dress instead. I have a couple of shirts like that and I sewed them up a bit.

I have completely forgotten how to dress myself. I haven’t felt this insecure about my wardrobe since high school.

Was there a change in something body or lifestyle wise that is making you feel this way? For me it's that I've put on 35 pounds since August 2022. None of my clothes fit, and I keep having to by bigger clothes.

Was there a change in something body or lifestyle wise that is making you feel this way? For me it's that I've put on 35 pounds since August 2022. None of my clothes fit, and I keep having to by bigger clothes. My weight is ok, I am at 129 or so (I am only 5'2) so at that weight my BMI is hovering around 25. I am still "Thick". Those free flowing loose pants look horrible on me b/c my thighs are still heavy. I went to Athleta on my lunch hour and bought some Cargo style pants that are more slim fit. I was happy with how they look and the comfort factor, but the prices there are enough to gag a person. I did walk past Express and they had a cute outfit in the window that I would totally wear. They usually have at least 40% off, so I might go see what they have in-store. On DH's income, I can buy what I want without worrying too much, but I do not want to have too much clothing stuffed in my closet either. I have also shifted to buying more casual clothing - no one really cares at my work, and once I retire, I won't need very much formal clothing. Chloe, I liked the 2nd dress, It has a bit of a deep slit for me though. Jerseygirl, I like the dress you chose; Macy's is also one of my go-to stores for dresses, but are you sure a wedding in Manhattan won't be more formal i.e.. full length dresses? Whitehouseblackmarket.com has lots of dresses online, yesterday they said up to 40% off but I don't know if they changed that sale since then or not.

I am having a hard time finding the right vibe for this office. Styles changed. And I am not sure my old go-to’s are working for me even if they were still in style. I don’t have any decent role models who are my age and my weight. All of the blogs that are “how to dress over 50” only show women who are quite thin. I’m not that heavy - but I sure don’t look like a model. I feel like I dress too formal, too stuffy, unless I am in something that is too casual or too frumpy. I can’t seem to find the right balance. I think I have the yips.

I think I have the yips. I go for more of a casual dressy. I now shop mostly at White House Black Market and Talbots. I like talbots for Petite jeans, they seem to fit me well. I shop at WHBM because they have both Petite clothing and regular sized pants in a Short Length. The frustrating thing about WHBM is they love the deep V-neck, so even petite tops can show more cleavage than I prefer. I also have yo-yo'd up and down in my weight so I have plently of loose skin. I had a pair of Ann Taylor Girlfirend Jeans on this am, and even though I bought them this year and they are a size smaller than I normally would wear, I still felt like they were too oversized. This is a trend I predict will go away quickly. I have heard lots of women say they plan to keep wearing their skinny jeans. If you are taller something like this might work: www.talbots.com/satin-wide-leg-pants---painted-paisley/P242016214.html. I think this is also cute, but I am not a big fan of sleevless tops (I am 60, arms are no longer firm): www.talbots.com/belted-linen-blend-vest/P241019519.html?dwvar_P241019519_color=LAVENDER%20TULIP&dwvar_P241019519_sizeType=MS#q=linen%2Bvest&lang=default&start=1

Nearly all of my clothes are WHBM - but they just don’t seem right at this job.

I am trying to thin down my closet. I looked for this a week or two ago and thought maybe I donated it. Pulled a bunch of jeans out to try on, and there it was. Wide legged & linen. The last time I remember wearing it was a baby shower for a friend whose oldest is 14 at the end of this month. I am not sure, but I don’t think it was new then. I put it on with a tank top b/c I am not sure about the top & it is already May. Might be too warm for it. I don’t like to wear tanks b/c my arms are flabby. I weigh just a few lbs less than my DD. She is a 4p and I am an 8p or a 10p. She is allergic to exercise, I used to work out like a fiend from the time I was her age until my early 50’s. I don’t exercise anymore other than walking the dogs. Sigh. But anyways I am very pleased this fits & is in style again.

Good for you, Bean, losing weight. You look great! And your arms are NOT flabby! I like that outfit. Now that it's warming up, I, personally, wouldn't wear the jacket, just the tank top.

I lost a few lbs last year, not more than 10 lbs. gained a bit over winter but lost it again when I was closing fiscal year and working longer hours. Now am trying to maintain as DH was put on Ozempic for his Diabetes. Expect he will lose about 20 lbs.
I am on high end of my optimal weight range, but when I weighed 5 lbs less, I worked out at least 4 days a week. I don’t have time for that with work & my commute. I also really watched what I ate. I still am very careful, but mainly I am on a low fodmap diet which is not to lose weight but avoid foods that cause me digestive issues. It steers me to healthier, lower calorie foods. I tell my family I am just fluffier now that I don’t have the denser muscle tissue from working out. I should go back to doing about 150 squats a day.
