I don't believe that for a minute. If you were truly dedicated to that as an end you'd start by leaving US alone. Baby steps, I know, but still....

How did I miss the air horn? It was actually a boat horn. Even louder-the sound had to travel across the Atlantic. Go big-or go home.

I've been noticing some, what I call , wise ass I guess, supposed to be humorous , remarks starting to appear on this thread regarding this event..,Are they really necessary... I know people die every day here, in your community , other places of the world..not all by illness and ageing...and even violently..tragically..but this event, while not taking the cake so to speak , seems in some ways even more tragic and special...at least to me.. Today they had the funeral of the trio...Muslims bury quickly as do Jews..over 5000 people showed up and I can guarantee that they were not all of the trios faith...In fact I would guess the majority were just folks, not even aquainted with the trio...These folks who were paying their respects I believe as I do , these kids, and that's what they were, kids, were special people ....this was a special tragedy. america.aljazeera.com/articles/2015/2/12/thousands-gather-to-mourn-slain-muslim-students-in-north-carolina.html============================================== Thousands gather to mourn slain Muslim students in North Carolina
Father of one of the victims says the killing ‘has hate crime written all over it’ February 12, 2015 3:40PM ET
More than 5,000 people gathered for solemn funeral and prayer services Thursday for three Muslim students gunned down in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, allegedly by an angry neighbor.
The deaths — of newlyweds Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, and Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19 — quickly gained international attention, with some concluding the shooter was motivated by hatred for Muslims. Mohammad Abu-Salha, the he father of the two women, said at the funeral that he thought the murder had "hate crime written all over it."
"We don't want revenge," he said. "We don't care about punishment. We want this acknowledged for what it is."=============================================== On NPR this afternoon as I was coming back from a Doctors visit I heard one of the teachers of two of the victims , they went to school overseas, can't remember where, but seemed to know them very well..had taught them for a while , explain so vividly what a joy and how extra special these kids were..how they stood out . I think we all have met some like this, possible some of you have such or relations or just know kids who stand out and are extra special..not that all kids aren't special... In my life I have experienced violence, participated in such , been exposed so naive and innocent I am not....but when you see the pictures of these three..so alive..their special qualities seem to come out in the pics..for me anyway...and the way their lives were snuffed out...how about saving the smart ass remarks for another thread folks...

Just to clarify, I hope that you don't interpret my analysis of how the narrative readers are reporting and not reporting this is no commentary on the event itself. Of course the murder of three innocent people is tragic. If I were in the area, I might have attended the memorial myself. Violence, except when used in the defense of innocent life, is never a good thing.

Have you been reading the comments? Who, me? Nah. I don't read comments on news stories. I'm interested in the news, not in the opinion of every idiot with a computer. And yet you are a member and moderator on a "Your Money and More" online forum. Just an observation from another idiot with a computer.

I even like the idiots that comment on every cock-and-bull story on the internet. Folks are fun! I just don't want to get bogged down in all the half-witted rhetoric. Here, at least, folks gots brains!

I'm beginning to suspect that YOU'RE a liberal plant to make conservatives look bad. Don't tell anyone. But I'm part of a conspiracy to take over the world. And then leave everyone the fuck alone. it is not clear to me how you would be leaving me the fuck alone by taking me and everyone else over.

Rush is not actually news, nor is most of what Paul posts here. it is a very right wing worldview that sees everything that does not comport with that view as a disease- a scourge that has to be rid of. these folks call themselves defenders of liberty, but in fact, they would love to deprive liberals, homosexuals, women, and minorities of whatever liberties they have fought for and won in the name of "traditional values" in a heartbeat, if they had the power. they are really neo-fascists, and they are indeed a great danger to Democracy, such as it is in the West. You just posted the narrative. I'm curious, how would abolishing the tax code deprive liberals, homosexuals, women, and minorities of whatever liberties they've fought for and won? How would a classical liberal approach do anything worse to people than welfare, gun control, gpf toilet control, light bulb control, compulsory government run schools with geographic restrictions which give new meaning to "red lining" minorities? The truth, if conservatives would ever fight for it, is that conservatives look at people, see the best in them, and expect better for people than they expect for themselves. The liberals look at people, especially minorities, with contempt. They simply want an ignorant, easy to control population. if you can point out where i even MENTIONED the tax code, i will entertain this response. otherwise, it is just another bullshit straw man argument, in the Limbaugh tradition, attempting to move the discussion into a terrain that is friendlier to your arguments. fuck that. edit: however, i have to strenuously object to your statement about liberals and how they look at people. i look at all people as intelligent and capable. for example, i have never referred to minorities as "low information voters"- nor have i accused them of being "too lazy" to get a proper ID. nor have i accused those on welfare of having a higher incidence of drug use than the general population. nor have i accused those on welfare of "looking for a free ride" (aka, lazy). but conservatives do that shit all the time. and yet, we are supposed to believe that this is NOT contemptuous? it is to laugh.

In a follow up on the tragedy I came across the following which is a fund raiser the male victim had put up to raise funds for dental care of Syrian refugees now in Turkey..I believe it is over one million refugees now and so many are children in big need of dental care...Makes sense if one have no dental education, simple tooth brush and past etc etc....It seems the $ collected are going bananas , so many more of the kids will be helped...Seems this is the type of guy this man was... www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/syrian-dental-relief/206249It seems almost $400 thou has been donate so far and still climbing ..original goal was $20 thou..So many more people are going to be helped by this and if anyone feels it is just geared to dental work and Hygiene..if anyone has had a tooth ache from a untreated cavity or worse and remember it is aimed primarily at the children..this is a good thing coming from this tragedy..IMHO. I posted here in case anyone is interested in joining the thousands who have given but as important , in fact more so for me, was my reading of the comments of posters. There are so many, a couple of hundred I believe and all of them are so positive..which is surprising since the kooks usually come out on these things , anominity..one being unrecognized so why not post the viral...Here I didn't read any of that and the posts are from all walks of life.. Possible a little good can come out of this tragedy... Little update on the perp...It seems police have found large amounts of weapons in his home..something like four or five hand weapons, shot guns, six rifles..loaded clips...many boxes of ammunition..{ I know , second amendment..all legal ..agree yadda, yadda but still..} His current wife said he never hated anyone, never verbally abused..was always one who would help others...then later in the day came out and said she was filing for a divorce...
